Yeah, this wasn't really packed. I'm guessing its about 13 - 14 grams (since I picked out some cherry buds that were floating around. Everything else I ground up some more). It worked VERY well. I would like closer to an 8" tube, however.
I thought the same, at first. Long bamboo skewer cleaned it right out. Stirred out the excess butane in the bud, got it under a fan now. Going to give it another grind and run it thru again, when I need to. Don't know what I've claimed so far. Its sitting in the water bath, covered with some cheesecloth. But, it looks like its more than double my last output. Its going to be close, if I increased the extraction with this tube... or... get better out of my downstem rig. Nice thing about this... is its the actual butane tip (no fitting) that seals on the glass. It slips in easy... but when you depress, the butane only comes out one place... the bottom. My downstem 3pc job, once it got freezing, it would start to blow butane out between the 18/14 and whip adapter.
There's this guy to. Just started out in Oregon, huh? Hmm...

I'd advise against it, there is other stuff in there besides ethanol and water. There will be glycerin (used as an alcohol sugar) and whatever the rum has pulled from the cask it was aged in present. A quick wiki search also says some rums add caramel to the final mixture, but idk if that is true of 151.

OK! I'm not really sure what run this is. I'm confused. I'll try and spell it out.
Its just over 6 grams of fresh stuff and about 6-7 of 2nd wash (which didn't really looked washed... from my n00b eyes and what I see from this last one).

My first run, garnered just over 1.2g. This one, gave up 1.8g, though with almost twice as much herb. I obviously attribute that, to the first wash on just over half of it.
Here's what I got. This batch was MUCH thicker and got to the shatter stuff almost immediately after cooling down. I finally gave up and just finished with it in the bath. Then I had to get it all off the razor blade, before it shattered. Trying to get it off the blade, it would cool back down and almost lost a couple of nice dab size pieces. I did a couple of dabs (cause I don't care if I pass out in a couple)... but an hour later, I'm still going... pretty up high on this one. Though my Xanax was wearing off at the same time, to that's like a coffee buzz itself. Main point is... I'm medicated... really medicated.

Well, update... this run is MUCH cleaner. However, I messed up scraping the very edges. I bought a new pan, that doesn't fit quite right in the crock pot and I knocked it off balance, splashing some water into the dish. I immediately poured it back out. As it was already purged... it just causes that last bit to sizzle on the nail. No biggie. Its not butane, different sound and I already looked it up. After sitting the better part of the day, open (though covered)... it was hardly noticeable on my last dab. And its only a 5 - 6 dabs. Thin line 1/8" on two blades, is all I got from that "contamination"
This batch doesn't have the hard crash, after a couple dabs... the first run did. Got a LOT of stuff accomplished early, took a short nap and some sleep earlier. Probably take a short sleep after I get my daughter up for school. I've actually been trying to adjust my sleep schedule back to a more normal one (mine flips every 6 @#$%ing months) and this is actually helping me a bit. Its a much more uplifting feeling this go-around, much smoother on the hit to.
The goods from a single dab are really amazing. OK, OK, OK... I understand. Its VERY tempting to have something that in a couple minutes you're medicated, good to go, and on your way. The bad part... that can be easy to abuse. Though, I actually medicated less yesterday, than I have in quite some time. Didn't need to, as the effects last a good while.
If I can keep a good balance and it doesn't @#$% up my tolerance too much, as I enjoy vaping more than dabs... plus, being caught with the amount of herb I have, isn't even a slap on the wrist. Caught running butane, thru that herb... I'm screwed. Its worth making, IMO. Just buying $50 worth is going to give me a good bang for my buck, plus I get a potpourri of Top Shelf nugs mixed with it.

try packing your herbs really well in the tube...that will give u better results with your bho colour i think...

That would require a boatload more than I have. Those tubes, lightly packed, I believe are 18g - 20g and tightly packed at like 35g. Its ridiculous... at least for my situation. I'm more than happy with the results. Its been keeping my going, since I woke, got a LOT more @#$% actually done. Feel pretty decent, in a decent mood. I haven't ANY complaints.
But, I do agree with you... I think I would get better results with more. I'm going to run this batch thru again. Already setup. Gave it another grind to open up all the freakin' little flowers I missed before... so I'm running it thru kief, close-to-kief almost throughout. I'll give this next run to my buddy. He said he'd hook me up, if I could make him some more of it... no problems giving him my runoff. The close to 2g I've got for myself now, the 1.2g I got before, whatever I get this run... plus the 2g of top shelf flowers I pulled out before any wash... I've more than got my money back (total $100 invested in herb, less than $10 in butane)
Also, take into account... that's 2g clumped up. If you look at the edges, with the light running thru it, its a beautiful amber/green color. Now I have to just learn how to dig out a shatter piece w/o flinging it into the bathroom mirror (at least I catch it on the counter). Found a whole dab this morning, in the little flower/butterfly cup I put out for my wife, to put her bluetooth in when its charging. It had to have sat there all night, I'm surprised it didn't stick to her earpiece, which then would have stuck to her hair, which then would have put me DEEP in DOGGY HELL HOUSE.
But, I do agree with you... I think I would get better results with more. I'm going to run this batch thru again. Already setup. use any other tube...i've used pvc tubes and or coper tubes and they worked both well and from what i've found they are not a danger either.

Yeah, it makes me sad more than anything else. We could spend a good amount of time in jail for something that is a personal choice, medicine and better for you than alcohol, nicotine or Xanax, all of which are legal.
I live in Florida, the second toughest MJ laws in the nation.
On a good note. Glad it came out well. I'm gonna do another batch in a week or so. Don't have the weed atm.

Purging this second run... this came out, looking much more clear and a smoother surface. The purge, seems to be clearing off faster (though, I heated my pan first and we got early sun for some reason). I'll update as it goes. I'm going to get at least another gram, it looks like.

Why? Its working. I haven't heard good things about PVC, just because no one has really done a study on PVC and butane. I've heard its good for one run. I've heard its not good at all. Not a hardship, to pass it by. There's a lot of nice options out there. Heck, even the smaller tubes than mine at reasonable between $20-30. And it works great! Easy to hold, easy to blast with butane.

Yeah, great idea. I found a dab stuck on the side of my LSV where it stuck when I was pulling some off and have actually lost a couple trying to get that shit in the wand.

I'm not sure what the laws are. My budtender says, their lawyer told them, no BHO/QWISO, whatsoever. Don't take the chance. Buddy at the LHS, who has moving a few hundred grams a week... says TWO grams can get you 7 years, minimum... same laws as meth. Budtender, says that's horse@#$%. I'm not taking the chance. I'll make it for me and a few friends.

Oh... I forgot. My final run, didn't net @#$% really. Got .3 grams. So for 13 grams (I weighed out the bud, I pinched from the original 15g - 2g total), my total return on BHO was 2.3g. Not bad, I suppose.
I like that system, Mike is selling. Comes with screens and everything.
EDIT: Oh, I'm not going to buy it now. I just bought an adapter for my SSFG and another 18/14 reducer (need 2 of them)
