First QWISO runs ever - Open to criticism & commentary

Well, I got 1.3g from 3g of bud using the other method. I did use 3/4 of a 5oz bottle of butane, but that was partially because I overdid it and I can live with that.

I did make some changes to the method in the vid based on other info and I'll be glad to share the changes if there is any interest.

I only did a few things differently. I just blasted my weed right in the mason jar. It blows it around at first but you're gonna swish anyway.

I let the weed dry and ran another quick wash.

When the butane and settled down and evapped a bit, I added some everclear to it stirred it till it settled again and put it back on evap. That is is supposed to help get rid of all the butane.

I evapped in a flat glass container instead of the teapot thing he used and double boiled it.

It worked like a charm. I just hit it a little bit ago and it kicks ass.

Is it normal for QWISO to taste....like iso? I find mine does. I've let it sit for like 5-6 days on my oil slick pad now. I can do "cloud dabs" with the 2 cap method, but I can't seem to avoid that iso taste.

Is there no way to purge it better to make it iso free 100%?

i find that iso always tastes like that. I now use ethanol.

I have never tasted iso in my qwiso. it does have a weird taste, but not like iso. You may not have purged fully, though sitting for days should do it, or you perhaps are unfamiliar with the taste and are associating it with the iso you used. not sure. If you used 91 % iso and let it air dry you will not have iso left because the iso evaporates before the water.

Iso will NOT grab the flavor, ime. So it either taste like actual thc, or it tastes like an impurity (if chlorophyll is present its taste will win out) when fully purged.

edit: darkrom, OF told me in the persei thread that everclear is just lab grade ethanol with a liquor stamp. Its just alcohol and water at the same level as their azeotrope.

I read about a dude who took his port in the evening that way cause he had throat cancer (I think).
His wife loaded up his bum with a bottle of port one night via an enema, and he died of alcohol poisoning & his poor wife was charged with manslaughter or something like that.

Until I got a proper vac & chamber I hated the taste of qwiso. That and I find it better with a REALLY quick wash (max 20 second 'swish', not shaking).

I much prefer BHO for flavor and less chlorophyll (that kills my allergies). Next is to play with polarizing and ditch the waxes butane extracts.

I've never done the 'liquid' butane YET, but I sure wish I cld afford a recovery unit to try it though.

Taking stuff up the rectum, quickest most effective (read: dangerous) way to take meds, alcohol, etc.

That's why the bum pills for nausea, work pretty damn instantly.

But, most meds are taken into your system, at the rate they're meant to... taking a ride on the Hershey Highway, is a fast-track to full-dose.

Picked this up yesterday. It was $50, but as James, the District Manager for the shops, he used the same piece when he was baking 60+ grams a week. He quit selling, when one of the shops tried to order 240 grams. He laughed and said, "Why? So I can go to prison? No." So he's got a lot of info.

Its Schott glass, pretty thick... and beautifully crafted, with precision for the input and the standard Butane fitting.

Thanks for the info guys. So you are saying everclear has no sugars or starches? I just want to start using a purer solvent if possible, but I'll still be avoiding butane for the time being.

I understand the iso should have all evaporated by now (91% iso) but at the same time the taste I'm getting when I 2 cap even the tiniest dab on my cloud my first thought is "ISO FLAVOR!" but that could be in my head. Its just a really strong chemical taste that sort of "tastes like iso smells" if that makes sense.

Very unlikely this many days in IMO. Plus it is a moldable consistency, not runny in the least bit.

When you make qwiso there will be some water floating on the top many times at the end of the process. You should always discard that water. If you didn't and let it evap into your qwiso the flavor could be coming from that.

well, you could theoretically do it in in an hour and a half or so, but I would give myself at least 3 being the 1st time.

I'm obviously still learning. I just found out the district manager for a chain of LHS, was huge into making BHO. He was cooking down 60g at a time. He said it got too crazy when he got an order for 264g. Realized how many years he would get with that much... Threw his hands up and said, I quit.

He's a grower now. Claims he's going to give me a sizable sampling when he harvests.

Anyway, I was buying a Boro nail to try (I like the Ti better)... and I saw this thing. So I asked if it was an extractor, he said yeah, I asked to see it. Told me its Schott glass. The nipple is perfectly centered and sized, he says. He pointed out the flare, which I was noobish on. However he starts going into microns, whoa... Hold up, dude. He wants me to wait, until he brings me some, 120 micron screen, get a house clamp, etc. I thought he was going to hit me, when I mentioned coffee filters.

Cool dude though. Hopefully, his shops are going to buy some Lev glass. Going to work on Steele Concept also.

Edit: its pretty thick, very smooth, no blemishes, or bubbles, glass. At least 4mm... Feels/sounds solid all the way thru.

Definitely watch this guy before your next batch. I used a combo of his tek and the other one I posted for my 1st batch, but will be going completely with this process next time.

Don't have access to grain alcohol. But its too late! Muahahahaha!

Already done... waiting for the Butane to boil off, then heat bath is waiting. Don't know how much yet, but that @#$% was blowing green for a LONG time. I finally got tired of holding it. LOL! (yes I was wearing gloves)

Just don't want the neighbors (and our a-hole asst mngr) wondering why I'm blowing butane into that glass tube.

i was using EverClear with no problems, but now i use Polish spirits, i think its better

They don't sell Everclear in California. Would have to go across the state line, or know somebody. I know pot and glass dudes. Highest we can get here... is Bacardi 151. I was using that for tinctures, but it was taking too long and I really didn't like the effects.
