Just put in a order for this. My VAS has really been something lately. Is there a J hook combo that is a must have? Or a new mouthpiece that doesn't get as hot?

Marc just put the cooling stem and piece on the site, its bigger so it seems it should be cooler itself and the vapor.

Waiting til i get paid tmr so I can get the new stem piece and the wpa at the same time, so hard to resist

Anyone else received their FW7 Cooling Mouthpiece Upgrade Kit yet? I received mine yesterday and was trying to sort out what each of the pieces is for. The small glass tube with the 2 small pieces of silicone and the o-ring obviously goes into the end of the cooling tube, and then connects to the ceramic mouthpiece. But there was also a longer piece of silicone and a few small pieces of felt in the package and I wasn’t sure what these were for. Anyone have an answer to this?

Marc sent out an update to the manual earlier today. I don't think it's on the site yet, but here's a screen grab of the info. It explains what the parts are for:

Read the third paragraph down that begins with, "If the fit is too tight..."

The silicon piece you refer to then is for making an adjustment to the cooling tube fits better. The felt pieces, as shown in the diagram, are for adjusting the fit of the cooling tube when the cooling tube is a diameter of .45" or less, to help it not rattle around so much.

Hope this helps.

Everyone.....I received the Firewood 7 today, charged the battery then, ripped it. Wow, is all can say. This thing is very impressive once you get the pull right(took only 1 pull to figure that, props), heavy tasty clouds. The taste compared with the cloud is really something.... I definitely could see the mouthpiece getting toasty but, I noticed stopping your pull and almost sipping works great for cooling. @firewood thanks a lot for the great product, beyond happy, going to be enjoying out back the rest of the night.

I got the new mouth piece today and it changed the whole experience with the fw7. First some photos.

The new mp fits perfectly on my fw7, the built quality is as usual excellent so no worries there. The glass stem is so easy to pull out and retract it's unreal. I can push it out with a simple flick of the thumb, the glass slide with just the right amount of friction to be easy to move but secure enough to not fall out by itself. When compared with the original mp of the fw7 or even the fw6 it make a world of difference. I was always afraid to break the original glass piece because it's so small, it look's like it would be easy to snap in two. With the new mp the glass is much sturdier, those hula stem are feeling much more solid, the glass is thicker and the only weak point is protected inside the vape. The stem doesn't wiggle at all so no risk to break the glass because of pressure on the joint between the two glass part. The glass comes out as much as the original mp but you can now use any length of stem you want. In the second photo I'm using the Gnarly stem from Sneaky Pete and it works, tighter fit but easy to switch out with the other glass. Also the size of the hula stem is a much more familiar feeling in the mouth than the original mp, I don't know why but this was important for me

The big difference is the feeling of the vapor, as far as I'm concerned this is a new vape. With the original mp the airflows was a lot tighter, it was literally sucking air thru a straw, the vapor would enter in the mouth in a very concentrated way with the heat being directed at a specific place in the mouth, it could get uncomfortable if you took a long draw. Now the airflow is a lot more fluffy and turbulent, the air has space to expand so it feels more open. The heat of the glass is now a problem of the past. The bigger chamber, the spikes and the thickness of the glass all help to keep the air cool. Also the way the wood is open at the bottom of the vape help to cool down the glass quickly, it makes a big impact. The taste is bump up too, Hula stems always seems to improve the flavor of the vapor and it's the same thing with the new mp on the fw7. Bottom line I was able to enjoy my herb at the highest setting and the only discomfort I had was that the vapor get dry at the end but the heat was manageable, I was taking bigger puff than I would with the original mp. When you inhale the stem will get hot near the oven, it cool down quickly but be careful to not burn yourself if you move the glass with your fingers.

If you have a Firewood 7 you need to get one, if you are thinking of buying a Firewood 7 you need to get one. If you don't fit in the first two categories you need to get one and buy a Firewood 7 anyway, it's that good.

Before I go I have a little treat for you. I finally got my fw6 back a couple of weeks ago and I've been enjoying it so far. I'm not gonna do a review since this vape is not available anymore but it's nice to be able to compare the vapor with the fw7. The vapor of the fw7 is a lot more robust, you can feel the conduction brings something extra to the vapor, the fw6 is more light in the mouth. Anyway I'm rambling, I already explained the story of this fw6 in a previous post and promised you a photo of this beautiful Firewood 6 in Padauk. Mark you do amazing work my friend.

Fantastic! Thanks for the great review.

I got my new mp a couple of days ago but haven't tried it yet. I'm waiting for the tung oil to cure a bit more. But After reading this I may not be able to wait much longer. That Gnarly stem looks really cool. I may have to get one of those.

And as long as I'm gushing, that 6 in Padauk is gorgeous.

The Tung oil didn't bothered me at all, it's not as overpowering as when I got the vape. I guess since it's only the bottom part and it doesn't have an access to the airpath it doesn't change the vapor at all. The only hint of the oil is because my nose is close to the wood when I inhale with the mp. When I got the vape the first time I think the vapor was tasting like the oil because of the air intake on the body and the body gets hot so the effects of the oil would be amplified. After my first bowl I wasn't thinking about the oil at all with the new mp. Of course your mp might have more oil than mine or you could be more sensible to it than me. I haven't tried the Gnarly stem yet I just wanted to see if it would fit, I'll give it a try tomorrow.

Let's see how long you can resist after you read this message.

Missed out trying to get a p80 today. Luckily, this thing hasn't left my side since I have received it. Not even sure I am upset, happier to have this amazing vape. The bowl size is SO much larger than it looks, that, and it roasts perfectly. Never does the abv look overcooked.

I did try the fw7 with the Gnarly stem today. It's nice to be able to have the vape farther away from your face, the extra length of the glass cool the vapor even more as expected. The only problem is that this stem have a carb hole so I make sure that the hole is covered by the wood so it's closed as much as possible. A little bit of air can get thru but it doesn't change the vapor a lot, you still can produce big could of vapor. This mp really open the possibilities for experimentation, I love it!

I just tried a new idea:

20201101_133829.jpg

I just used it as a mouth piece and so far it's my favorite. The length of the stem is perfect and the vapor was so good, great taste and no irritation in the back of my throat. This stem also have a carb hole so again I try to block it but I can still hear some air getting in, it's not a bad thing because this help to cool the vapor even more. I plan on testing it on a water pipe and also compare it against the WPA from Firewood later.

Sweet! Finally put my order in for the 7 and cooling mouthpiece and I'm hoping my water wand fits so I don't have to get the wpa too

The results are in and it's positive. To be honest I've never used the WPA with the fw7 before because I didn't feel the need, I was satisfied with the vapor the vape produced with the og mouthpiece and the og heat settings. I was getting pretty much the same results with the WPA and the BB9 stem with the cloud production. I can't say anything about the taste because I started with the BB9 and since it was the first time with water I pushed it too far, inhaled for too long and had a bit of combustion, just enough for the vape and the waterpipe to taste like ass for the rest of the session and I was too lazy to clean it between the two test. I did noticed that the BB9 had a more open airflow versus the WPA but that was because of the carb hole since it's not blocked completely. The big difference is the way the vape is positioned on the waterpipe and I think this is gonna be a matter of personnal preference, myself I like the way the WPA is positioned on the pipe more because I have a tendency to apply to much downward pressure when I use a vape on a pipe. But with the way the WPA is made, the vape is on the side of the pipe and I can press the button without putting too much stress on the glass.

Bottom line for me I don't think I'll use the fw7 with water a lot, I don't need to. The new mouthpiece does a great job at cooling the vapor. The fact that you can use the glass you want is just icing on the cake. Remember that not all glass is the same so if something works for me it might not for you if your glass is bigger or smaller, you won't know until you tried it. I did try every piece of glass I could find in my collection that is made for a Vapcap tip and it all fitted with the adapter, yes even the water wands. A lot of them have carb holes but I'm sure I can make it work if I wanted.

Just got my 7 last night, now in the usual new device learning phase. Is there optimal way to pack it? After a couple hits the I start not seeing much vapor anymore, and when I try pushing the temp up the edges started to look a little scorched but the center is still pretty light.
Tried to speed up my draw when it tasted dark but the center didn't really get much darker

Try to get a consistent medium fine grind, pack half to three quarters full, or less if you want to, but you do want to pack it down (though you don't want to overpack it and restrict airflow too much) Also try slowing down your draw if it's been fast, spending less time on the button, lastly temp settings?
