As far as helping with the squeeze... Could you try experimenting with rubber bands of different sizes and different amounts around the unit?

In my mind I'm seeing these bands as not strong enough to complete the squeeze... But strong enough to do most of the work for you.

Just an idea, good luck.
Thanks for the suggestion. I'll have to cogitate for a while on how I might implement that.

I’ve done this by accident. I used a smaller diameter wide rubber band. I got it off of a broccoli or asparagus bunch. I put it on originally to hold a mini skewer for load dumping. ( my dumb ass keeps using the provided stir tool / herb storage cap to loosen and dumb my abv and fresh herb storage into the garbage) I needed to protect me from me so I tossed a band on to hold a stir tool. A dbl loop of one of those produce bands holds the unit engaged nicely. Might be a pita in real life but it was fun for me to play with when experimenting.

I was thinking about something along those lines. Those yellow "organic" rubber bands off the broccoli bunches come in handy for so many things.

The trick will be to find the arrangement that provides squeezing help while at the same time allowing the switch to disengage when I want it to.

I wonder if one of those tools that helps arthritis sufferers open jars might be useful...

I guess I'm starting to get a handle on some aspects of the FW6. I decided to raise the temp settings for levels two and three and I was able to do so easily, getting both of them set correctly on the first try with no missteps.:clap:

While I'm here I just have to say again that my new FW4 capsule loading tray from Delta3D is by far the most helpful and useful vape accessory I've purchased in years. It has removed every fine-motor obstacle that was making the FW4 difficult to use. Cannot recommend it highly enough.

I'm still not sold on the FW6. I find myself reaching for every prior version I own, even after kicking up the temps.

I just shopped Delta3D recently and didn't notice something for the FW4. Now I'm going to have to go look. I'm assuming it will work for the FW3 as well?

The FW 6 is my first one but it has has grown on me. I started slow and sent it back and it took me a while to use it much because of an asthma flare up.

Eventually I modded it with an upside down basket screen and use it at 360-370-390F. I might even drop the #3 setting to 380F since I never use 390F.

But now I use it the most of my herb vapes. It has the best flavor, but its not a heavy hitter, but neither am I. I fill it 3/4 full (the basket screen reduces the bowl size a little) and start hitting it at 370F, then after two hits drop it to 360 for a few more hits, then stir and add more fresh herb. My favorite part, for whatever reason adding more fresh herb seems to coat my mouth with terpenes. Even when the herb is dark it doesn't taste burnt, just roasted like coffee.

That FW 4 must really be something, lol. Ive been considering other convection vapes,
(tiny might, tetra p80) but when I think about it more, a bigger hitter isn't really where I'm at now days, and the FW 6 suits me fine.

He doesn't have it listed on the site. Maybe because it was a custom order? If you're interested, I would email Ratchett and ask him about it.

If the FW3 capsules are the same size as the FW4 capsules then it would work. But only if they are exactly the same size. The tolerances are pretty exact.

Thanks, I'll ask him. The FW3 and FW4 capsules look the same size to me. What differs is the gasket/mouthpiece used.

I would spring for one if it's reasonably priced!
Won't lie, mine was fairly expensive because it was a custom order, but I have to believe subsequent ones would be priced similarly to the other loading trays he has on his site.

Of course I could be completely misunderstanding how these things work (especially after today's round of oral surgery - who the fuck invented teeth anyway and why couldn't they make them sturdier?) but it's certainly worth asking about.

I find that I really enjoy using this guy on the couch when I just want to sip.
For some reason, I mainly use it with CBD. Not sure why, maybe because I can keep on hitting without getting wrecked.

I really enjoy the flavor and the ease of draws.

The oven is in need of a cleaning. Is it okay to soak it for a few minutes in ISO in ultrasonic cleaner? It feels like it might be too porous for that. Thoughts?

I've been cleaning my bowl and glass with salt and iso shake in a bag. I do the glass first, then the bowl afterwards. Don't do them at the same time. I've been leaving the screen in during this process and haven't had any issues.

I have done a 3-4min soak but never any longer.

I soak mine in iso as well. Then rinse with water. It dries pretty quickly, like in minutes.

Mine is actually being fixed. 2+ weeks now in fact. The battery post nearest the oven fell off. Hoping I get it back soon.

Has anyone had an issue where their Firewood 6 doesn't respond to clicks? I finally got to try mine after months of waiting (4-ish due to life happening), and it has been utterly disappointing.

It worked for about 30 minutes and just stopped right when I was getting a feel for how to pull. I tried a fresh battery that I know is good and has charge but it just isn't working. For a single press, sometimes I can get it to tell me "the battery has charge" (5 vibrates). But other times it will vibrate a single time in response and the heater will kick in for some unknown length of time before it decides to stop.

I don't know what the deal is, or if I had been squeezing too hard or what. :/

Not sure if this is what’s happening for you, but I’ll mention I’ve had mine not respond to clicks if I don’t space them apart properly. Like if I click twice to choose heat level 2, and then try to click once to draw right away-it won’t register. I have to wait 2-3 secs after the two buzzes to click and be able to draw. Same thing with changing temps, you have to wait a couple secs between each set of commands.

I’ve also seen reports here of people’s click mechanism not working right altogether, so if so definitely contact Marc.
