@Brewervapesalot I'm glad to hear you got it back and it's working well now.

I noticed with my FW6 when it got warm after a few bowls the button wouldn't fully 'click', it would work fine but I didn't get that sense that I was actioning anything, I relied on the buzzes. The button action is only slight when cold but it's positive. I noticed an area of approx 10mm long along the edges of the two halves that didn't quite allow full button depression, so I gently sanded these areas down a fraction and it appears to have solved my problem. At first I thought it might have been the heater module being sticky but I'm pretty sure it was the outer edges contacting before the button could. There are no notable signs that anything was sanded or removed.

FW6 still running great.

Major difference from FW5 for those who are asking:

- vapor of FW6 is noticeably warmer than FW5.

- bowl in FW6 is substantially bigger than FW5. Which is nice. But FW5 wins on stealth reloading. Blowing out the bowl on the FW6 via the mouthpiece, reloading, etc., is easy enough, but isnt stealthy like pushing a new bowl into place like u can with the FW5.

- retractable mouthpiece is much better on FW6.

- simpler to take apart and clean the FW6, but both it and FW5 are easy in this regard.

- vapor, cloud, production is very similar. Would have to compare side by side again to give good review. I think I want to say flavor is a little better on FW6, vapor is hotter on FW6, and best cloud production is FW5, but FW6 can compete.

- form factor and feel and pocketablity is a bit better on FW6. I like how it comfortably feels in my hand and operates with a simple squeeze to engage the heater. The locking mechanism is a tiny wooden, but carefully crafted, latch and locking mechanism. I has a feel to it like it was designed before plastics took over, by a woodworker. I think decreasing numbers of people are talented enough make something like this.

Overall, if I had to choose right now, I do think I would pick FW6. If the new shine wears off that could change... Having both is nice for certain.

Very good comparison, thank you!

In my case, the FW6 can produce bigger clouds than FW5 if both fully loaded. A fully loaded FW6 is also cooler than with smaller pack, still a little bit warmer than FW5.

For me the FW6 has another plus since I dropped the tray of my FW5 because it was sooo hot! On the FW6 are no parts to touch that get hot.

I’d provided another one I’m currently using in the post below. I tried the Anker one and liked it, but preferred the more glove-like fit of the one below:

I do. The Anker one had more wiggle room, but not really enough to use for anything useful (like a battery, doob tube, etc.). The hermitshell one fits spot on. I’d posted an image of the FW6 in the Anker case in the post below if helpful:

So on the Firewood site Marc specifies the need for a battery rated for AT LEAST 20A discharge. I have had great success with the Samsung 25Rs in my FW4. Is there any reason (other than price) to not get and use either of these Samsungs:

Well thicker not always better than slimer when it's 21700 instead if 18650 and doesn't fit.:lol:
There has been a discussion on these when mark asked for a brainstorming here but most people prefer the smaller and more common 18650.

Well, THAT'S pretty damn embarrassing. Kinda scary how I stared right at that stuff for who knows how long without once noticing/realizing they weren't 18650s.

And it's not like I can play the old "well, I had just used my FW before I posted" defense.

Thanks for saving me from myself.

Edit: I'm digging this FW6. Long slow draws. Packed and tamped bowl, but so you can still pull easy enough, and you're gunna get big clouds.

My daily drivers are an herbalizer or a cloud-evo. But I've been using the FW6 for a couple days now... It's great, keeps up just fine.

Got my FW6 back today. So far it’s been amazing through around 6 bowls. Draw resistance seems more consistent and I’m definitely getting more even heating (not 100% on the draw sensor though). I haven’t adjusted/maxed out temps yet and I’m getting thick vapour. Till now I had thought of it as my OTG option, but as is - this thing has me questioning whether I need my other vapes.

I’m having better luck with my fixed/updated FW6. I can get big clouds, however I still can’t seem to get it to fully extract. It’s also NOT a quick extractor by any means. My material always seems to end up maybe kind of tan, but still pretty greenish; never dark. This is even after repeated slow (and kinda harsh) draws at 440. Anyone else experiencing issues like this?

I almost feel like the heater doesn’t perform to the intended level. I have my temps set at 390, 420, and 440 but these seem more consistent with my FW5s lower temps, without a high temp available.

Something definitely still isn't right if your herb is coming out green after a session at 440. Also it shouldn't take a long time. I never use 440 because it is too high, even if I don't combust it doesn't taste as good and comes out near black.

The only explanations I can think of is that there is still something wrong with your unit, or air is leaking in somewhere, or possibly you are using too little herb packed too lightly. Do you think it is possible you might be pulling the mouthpiece out too far and it is losing the seal with the bowl? How are you packing it? If it isn't either of those things I can definitely take another look if you send back in.

Can confirm. I don't use the highest setting as it's a bit too toasty for me. I can crush a full bowl in like 4 big hits. Less than 3 minutes from cold.

I do think this vape rips a bit better when it gets some heat built up, but it's not a slouch from cold at all.

This is how my unit was acting...until I switched batteries. I had 3 efest batteries (it is a recommended brand in the FAQ on the fw website) for my fw5 that I was using in my fw6. Turns out they weren't performing as well in the fw6. I found a Samsung 30Q in my collection that seems to make my fw6 happier. Even the battery level buzzes seem more confident. (I know, sounds silly.)
What battery are you using?
