That bonus looks awesome...mine hasnt shown up but Marc did hint to me that I should wait to purchase any capsules. I was thinking about it too, you would need a cork or something to have preloaded capsules to work in your favor or extra mouthpieces. I was also thinking about a holder. Marc did a really awesome job with these from what I can see it the pics above

I had a big scare this morning...I went to take my first hit from my FW3 and it was so quick and dense I should have known something was wrong instantly. The hit came at me like it was 2nd or 3rd hit in on heat level of 4 and I was only on temp 2. I took a second hit and it was like the vapor was blowing into my face and it even had a charred flavor this time around. I quickly removed the mouthpiece to find the heater was stuck on. I tried blowing in the device without the mouthpiece and I tried sucking as well to see if I could effect the flow sensor or something. Nothing worked and the FW3 got extremely hot and was glowing orange inside. I shut the device off and started to let the worse case scenario sit in. I might have to turn around and go back home to get another vape and I might have to send this one in for repair. Before I paniced, I turned the device back on, set it for temp 2 and gave it another go. The issue has not come back and my FW3 is working perfect since this incident.

Weird right...the only thing I can think of that might have had any effect on the device is that I ran it dead to where it actually shut off on me last night and then I left it on the charger overnight which was about 6-1/2 hours.

Anyways, if it happens to any of you out there, make sure you turn the device off immediately. This thing gets hot enough I could almost see it catching fire.

That's pretty scary.

For those of you that have had an issue with the screen falling out of the capsules what size screen or what vape did you pilfer the screen you replaced it with from? Has any one tried flattening the included screen a bit more(hammer it out a little) so it stay's put. Should have mine in hand and on charge in a few minutes since i just saw the mail go down around the other side of the street and wish to have no worries about the screen this All-Hallows-Eve.

@nosmoking glad you got yours under control, sure hope it was a onetime fluke of somekind and doesn't become a repeated or widespread issue.

Don't know if this will help or work, but there are glass screens on eBay.

I have seen this on a few units but caught them before going out the door. Fixing that was actually my top priority before I even saw this post, so thanks for sharing, it is good to have more info and another clue. I didn't think this was out in the wild. It is not likely to catch fire... I have done tests where I turned one on full bore with fully charged batteries and there was no fire. Still this is not good and I will get it fixed soon...

I came up with a pretty decent solution for this - you just need a dowel or rod that is 8mm in diameter (0.315") and use that to push the screen in. The 8mm width is prefect to make it fit tight without moving because it makes more of a flat bottom basket shape.

As it has been my experience so far, @firewood seems to be many steps ahead of me. I'm glad to hear it's already on your radar. It really didn't worry me about the heat...I was more so concerned that I would have to send my unit back. I think I'm all good now though.

I use a bic pen to push my screens in place and flatten them yet I'm still losing them. Lost my 3rd screen this morning. That's 3 screens in 4 days for those counting. Not a big deal and it's my fault that I'm losing them, I can only blame the vape for not securing them when I blow it out the window like a dumb@$$. Besides, their just screens and I have tons, otherwise I would probably be much more cautious.

Those would not help...I have glass screens and flowers things. They fit but you can't get a snug fit so they are less secure than a mesh screen. Mesh basket screens are going to be the best way to go I think but I still need to try. There is a little slight lip to stop the screen from pushing through the heater side of the capsule, but the vapor path side is wide open and so I am typically only having screen issues when going to empty the capsule. I have absolutely no issue during use or loading. The first time I lost my screen I did not have a replacement/back-up on me but I did have my V2 Pro Series on me as a back-up vape so I took the metal screen from it which is about the same diameter as the glass screens and flowers. It worked but once I started taking hits the metal would move around as there was no real way to secure it.

Got one of these arriving tomorrow afternoon. I am seeing STS9 tomorrow night. Do these come charged?
Definitely give it as much charge as you can before you go. Seems to work a lot better on a full charge in my experience.

Edit: I'm really liking this thing. I was waiting for my EVO to heat up earlier and decided I'd do a quick bowl in the FW. It's been an hour now and I still haven't touched the EVO yet except to turn it off and on. :smug:

I must comment, I am concentrating extremely well with the FW3. I got some sticky taffy like wax yesterday. I took a wax cloth square that came with my miVape and wrapped a good size frozen dab in it. I put some flowers in the capsule first then the balled up wax cloth and then a little more flowers. I did this last night and I still havent finished this thing...flowers are still blond on top. I still taste the wax and I have taken 20 or so hits on temp 4! Most through a piece pipe shaped bubbler! Its like the never ending capsule!

And another thing...I don't think I can say enough right now about how efficient of an extractor this thing is. The amount of hits I get in a capsule seems ridiculous sometimes.

I'm not having the greatest luck with my Firewood, very difficult to get the heater to engage for a hit and having a problem that once I turn it off it won't turn back on again until it's charged whether I try pulling 5 hits or 20. Once it's off it has to go right back on charge for an hour and a half or more. The charger is showing green and on initial start-up all the pulses and beeps are correct for a charged unit until I set the temp, It's right up to level 3 where I get 3 little beeps but trying for level 4 I still get 3 beeps and the heater won't engage so the unit shuts off even if it's on the first hit... then if i hold the button down to start it I get nothing at all until charged again.

(a bad battery maybe? i don't know.)

Got my unit last night, still havent gotten the greatest results but I can feel some effects. I'm doing a fine grind with the MFLB finishing grinder, but im beginning to think it might be too fine. I'm gonna try a looser, coarser grind. I'm still not sure whether I like a flat screen, or a dome screen. Any one have their go to technique to set up the cap?

I use a enano screen flipped upside down. I feel this works best because I fill the cap right to the top so when its connected to the mouth piece the herb doesn't move around when you draw.

Does anyone else's unit turn off sometimes right after you set the heat? This has happened to me a few times. It happened just now and I just took it off the charger.

Now that I've been using the FW3 solely for almost a week I want to say a couple things about it. I like the design and form factor. Especially this walnut version looks slim and sleek for a wooden vape. I really like that the heating is full convection and there is versatility with the screen. The air flow is non restrictive. I've had no issue with the battery life. There hasn't been a time where I wanted to vape and the FW was dead, and its the only unit I've used since it came last monday. My only issue with this vape is the breath sensor. Its a very nice innovative idea and it does work well. I just think the sensing needs to be fine tuned. I have to take a puff before every hit to get it the best results. This isn't a biggie and I'm still very much liking the vape. Its just a tad annoying to have to take a pre puff before each hit. But besides that, all else with this vape is great, its exactly what I wanted out of my next portable and its a great value.

Did a longer charge on my firewood last night unplugged it once the charger light turned green then plugged in and charged for another cycle (odd how it'll always be red if you charge it until green then unplug and plug it right back in and then it's red and charging again).
All seems well with it so far today, so here's hoping it stays that way.

I Believe Getting the heater to engage was User Error and no issue with the firewood itself, I think I just wasn't pulling hard enough on my 'primer hit' or something 'cause today I'm getting heat every time i use it. 3 cap's this morning and going strong, working as it should though I'm not getting much visible vapor yet I'm getting all the effect so... For now today I'm a much happier firewood camper than i was yesterday.

Mine has a wide open airflow like the Daisy or a native Magic Flight draw unless I really pack a full capsule down tight. I'm actually not finding it so easy to do a long steady hit with no resistance. My lungs get filled too quickly (if that makes sense).
wow, yeah mine is more like jigglehippo's, feels like sucking through a coffee straw. Way more restricted than my firewood 2.1 and my original 1.0

With mine there's very little difference if I just pull on the mouthpiece/capsule when outside the unit or shoved down tight in it.

I actually went ahead and removed the screen from my mouthpiece, and instead created another domed screen and placed this lightly over the bud inside of the glass chamber. This changed EVERYTHING. Draw resistance is very low now, even lower than before. The bud also doesnt fly up and get stuck to the mouthpiece screen anymore since the screen sits close enough to the bud to where it only lightly bounces around. I actually don't have any problems engaging the heater anymore. I do one "primer puff" before I start my sesh, and then just puff and the clouds come rolling in. I only do another primer puff if I don't draw for 15 seconds.
