sad news, i too was hoping there would be an improved ff3 at some point. taste was great, and i liked how it handled more like i pipe than a juicebox. really liked the looks of the 1st generation.

probably a stupid query, i am pretty useless when it comes to electronics - but would it be complicated to disconnect / disable this green firefly logo in the firefly 2+? at this price i am debating getting one again. i have been close to ordering one a couple of times. but looking at this logo stops me every time :/ silly, there are so many issues with the firely, and this is the one i cannot get past..

then there is the app.. are there any known workarounds to get the app working again on an iphone?

This
and several other similar videos will give you an idea of what disassembly looks. If you have some experience with (de)soldering ic's or watch a lot of Big Clive it might not be too hard. Or you could put a bandaid over it

I have some extra ff2 lids [fits ff2+] that only have the small dot on top so you never see the logo, if you want one message me.

Cracked open my dead FF battery last night, and figured I'd share what's inside. Two pouch batteries should be easy enough to source, and I'm curious to connect a much larger pair of cells up for extra performance.

Of course, I bought 4 batteries on the sale, so I doubt I'll be messing with these old cells any time soon.

Sad news. Good guys, but yeah, they lost their main design visionary years ago and just never significantly evolved the vape after that.

Fun vape back in the day, and damn, nothing ever really delivered flavor like the original. But it was always a fussy little device, and the older I get, the less fuss time I have.

hey folks, long time no post...

a quick read and it seems this device is abandonware?

the 2+ is $99 right now. I remember liking my cousins FF but I don't know which model he had (I txtd him).

I don't have a convection vape and that price is great but the above post gives me pause about the device in general

I paid $90 for it about a year ago. I'm sure this device was impressive in launch but it very dated now. It reminds me a lot of the vapes in the post-Pax time. A lot of electronic gimmicks with an only okay heater. And the form factor is awful, in my opinion. It's like vaping out of a cell phone. The flavor can be quite good, but can't compete with most modern convection vapes.

Yeah this is not the way to go if you've never experienced pure convection on demand and want to touch your toe in because you've heard such great things about it compared to traditional conduction or hybrids in a session style... Honestly even if it wasn't going out of business mostly at any price

When it first came out it was a leader...it was my first vape and very impressive for the time. The flavor was outrageous...too bad it is gone. Updates would have been fabulous.

hey folks, I also think its a pity that they did not develop the device further. However please tell me which pure convection on demand vape performs better than the firefly? I only heard of the Ghost MV1. Are there any other better alternatives out there that are pure convection and on demand?

Nie wydaje mi się że mv1 będzie lepszym wyborem. Polecam TM2, ruffu lub TA.
The Roffu and TA aren't on demand, and I wouldn't recommend the vapor of the Roffu over the firefly any day. Direct Inhale butane devices can hit the on demand and convection, but I don't think that's what they are asking. So really probably the TM2 for mass produced options. The wood is a huge turnoff for me, though.

I think my batteries for the FF1 will arrive today. At this point I'll have spent more on batteries than I did the device. But it's pretty, and I'm excited to give it a go again.

if anybody needs an extra battery or colored lid hit me up. I don't use it enough to keep all the extra parts.

If you can search and skim a bit, this question has already been asked and answered before, but it is also a better question to post in the Ask FC section (off topic here even if FF is being discontinued honestly) there are a wide variety of better alternatives, though I wouldn't even put Ghost on the list at all, even if that one wasn't discontinued long ago as well...

Tinymight2 is the easiest to recommend, and Firewood9 for a more hybrid conduction on demand experience too, Tafee Bowle as well for the more industrial designed less artisan style on demand convection

Yeah this is exactly why it is off topic lol turns into a whole back and forth debate over other products that this thread is not even about! Tricky classifications too

I will correct you that both Roffu and v3pro actually are on demand (they might not be instant, but neither is FF or TM technically) and so is the TA, they are more manual convection driven on demand vapes... They are not more automatic hybrid conduction session style (although R/V3P do better with more hybrid effects in their session modes, they are still more on demand category budget, compared to say Solo3 that is still hybrid session automatic even though it has a on-demand mode feature, it is really like micro sessions with more control, similar to how TM session mode is just like auto fire holding the button down for you on demand, not really automatic session heating as most hybrid conduction have been)

I would agree the vapor quality can't quite compare, but I don't think the FF quality is really all that spectacular and I think it is pretty damn tedious to use by comparison

I'll use ff2 over my one or v3 at home just for tasting new strains, there's definitely some fuss factor/ritual with firefly making it not so travel friendly, but the wide all glass vapor path really works if only the heater could keep up.

Yeah I'm not even talking about travel, still talking about sitting at home on the couch lol I rely on more artisan vapes regardless, but even if they didn't have better vapor quality for me, it's the ease of use (getting even extraction throughout a load is extremely difficult for me with FF and the temp settings, too many variables and just involved loading unloading even nugs)

but the wide all glass vapor path really works if only the heater could keep up.

What do you mean all glass vapor path? Is that panel glass, I cannot recall, since it was always metal before? Also the mouthpiece is still plastic unfortunately, still shocked they kept that even with the FF2+, also it is really only the bowl, the sides around it that is glass, the bottom is still not? Also there is some silicone, I don't even remember what metal of the heating element was made from though either?? Yeah it would have been ideal if the heater could be better and replaceable, I really wish the chamber itself was removable and cleanable most of all however... Could have been great!

All the batteries Firefly shipped me are no good and won't heat the device before the LED goes red, on a full charge. Messages to their help email get an auto reply of "Firefly Support Discontinued" . So maybe hold off on buying any old stock until I find out how they handle this.

Update: Firefly turned off all their phones, support emails, and contact page. BUT, they left the daily spam on encouraging you to get your friends to buy a bunch of their stock. The only reply I got from them on this is that "we won't help u" auto reply. Fortunately, my CC company is handling the dispute, but that's a 45 day process.

So, yeah, don't buy anything from them. This company is ghosted, and trying to extract a final cash flow from trusting customers based on past goodwill.

Yeah this is a sad end to what was once a pretty responsive company. (I always had issues with my FF2 batteries. They rarely worked well.)

hello everyone
any idea how can I clear the bowl wholes? sticking it with sharp needle hasn't worked really. My ff2 has become a bitch to vape

Yes this is a flaw with it, there is no real way to clean there, even if you did poke through, you would just be pushing the debris into the heating element... If only they made it fully cleanable with disassembly, oh well, I'd suggest buying something else entirely now

I used this video to take mine apart to remove the screen;

Hardest part is finding a pin small enough for the holes they small!!
I seem to remember using a lancet meant for blood sugar testing was sufficiently thin, but it’s been awhile
