I'm in Oz so the shipping wait is much longer for the cloud.
But I assumed it would come with no ELBs so I bought a pack of 4 from an Aussie shop
and have had those for days now. Hope to get the cloud late this week.
ELBs were fun to look at and play with though... lol.

Wow. this ebay auction really blew up. i bought the first 2 that sold. I offered him $200 each which he accepted. whatever, ok fine. things change. ive been using mine for over a month and its been great. i have been using an official cloud+ and i have had the version before the +. i consider the clouds from this ebay guy to be unoffical clouds, no warranty of any sort. for $200 thats fine and for $100 its a steal. mine have been working fine. actually i posted the first post about this ebay auction and was told to delete the post. so i did. wonder how it blew up i to this...

Yes, I payed $125 but I was in early and worried he'd run out units before I could grab one just to save $10-15. As it turns out he has heaps of units it seems by the number sold.

As much as this price kicks ass for the people that would never have paid 450 for anything, I feel mad sympanthy for Stonemonky.
Here they are, unable to quit dayjobs because even at the 450-500 price, they are not moving fast enough to be highly profitable - they finally make a massive effort to break out of that box and improve things. And right at the peak of their efforts, along comes this dingdong diluting the price and devaluing (at east temporarily) the concept of buying a new one to first time users. Kind of sucks. I hope he wins the lawsuit, and I hope this stops soon for his sake.
He has pioneered our healthy experience (because our stoner asses were too lazy to do it) and this is not his rightous reward. I will personally not be buying one, some things are more important than money, like supporting brave people.

yes.... i left it on for about 20 or 30 min or so at the 12:00 position. the unit got warm on the sides and the "hot" plate on top was much warmer but i could leave my finger on it without burning. i do have some questions though....
1) the glass tube running through the bottom of the unit (i think this is called the bamboo) was sticking out slightly more than the outer shell of the unit so when i sat it on my desk it would "rock" a little. i firmly put it on my palm and pushed it up slightly (it was not loose at all) and now it sits on my desk without rocking. but now the bamboo is flush with my desk. is that a problem?? does air need to get in? i took a dry pull and it seems air gets through
2) i did a dry pull by putting my cloud in my ZOB bubbler and pulled. there was a very loud noticeable "whistle" as i was pulling. is that normal??? or was that just because i was pulling it without having an ELB loaded and in place??

All sounds good so far!
1, the bamboo can be adjusted slightly further up, but as long as you can use the device, it is fine anywhere. I hardly used the device sitting on a table, so, as long as it is up enough to keep the unit on its feet, I'm good with that.
2, the whistle is normal :-) the OG tickers really whistled! Like, I'd use mine to get attention from a distance if it was cold...whistle more when cold for some reason. Just the restrictions in the bamboo doing their thing
much less noticeable when vaping with an ELB inserted.

Thanks for the info. I think I will buy one when I can and use a high temp epoxy (doesnt even have to be conductive) to reinforce the wire-ceramic connection.
Well, I'm also not going to buy one. As much as respect SM and VXH, that is not the reason. I'm not going to get all gushy over my love and devotion to a company. Truth is, to me business is business and as a consumer, I spend my money where I think it's wise. I don't spend money because I happen to like someone. I wish I had that kind of wealth!
So, if these were units that were left over (or whatever) and they WORKED, then I really would have no problem buying one. I have an EVO coming (I was a very early customer) and would love to have a Cloud as a backup or just one to use now. But I know these units are faulty. They won't last and I'd be throwing my money away if I bought one. Shit, I wasn't too happy about my Ticker dying after a year, but I love the device so much that I give VXH the benefit of the doubt and purchase another.
So, whatever you guys decide to do, I wish you luck. But to me, just because at one time they were $400, a drop to $100 still buys you a faulty unit that will be dead sooner than later. If Macintosh made an iPhone that sold for $400 and ended up being faulty, would you buy it for $100 knowing it's going to shit the bed and/or not work at all? I use this example because I have always been an early supporter of Apple products, but you get the idea.
While my Ticker has been dead, I have been using the Solo to tide me over. It's a product that WORKS and has never given me a problem in 3 years. I'd gladly spend my money on one of those or a Q (over a dead Cloud) and I have no idea what kind of company Arizer is.

Well, I don't consider not undermining someones job-risking efforts "love and gushy". I consider it respect for others efforts. But I don't look down on anyone, we all make our best choices and they become the story of our lives. Money sucks. But you are correct, I am in a position to make more ethical monetary choices right now. Far from rich but far from in need of help.
If stonemonkey was bankrolling, this would be an entirely different story/personal opinion.
And, its only a matter of time before China starts rolling these out... I just would love to see Stonemonkey get a grip on the market first!

I'll be totally mad if I was on SM55 and VXH team. But better sooner than later. And they should be prepared for more people trying to imitate their Cloud or EVO. We know how it works. I was surprised that didn't happened before.
I know this is different. But who is going to stop them till then. Litigation can take years with patents and bs in the middle.
But for many people that they are still on the brink of buying an EVO, think about it, this is perfect for VHX.
If 50% or more of those faulty units shit the bed... people that tried it and liked it , they are going to be crazy to buy the REAL EVO no matter what.
If all of them break and all of them are liked... if that factory has 2000 units ($200000).
2000 fail = 2000 EVO. 2000($500EVO)=$1000000.
A million for SM55 and VXH team. Sounds crude and pretty basic and nonsense but kind of close.
I think if SM55 and VXH team play smart, they already did, I see them retiring soon in the tropics sipping rum

Others just to try it before buying the EVO and to check what is all the talk about.
Others as gifts to convert combusters into our world.... Etc etc etc

@Tstat I'm an apple fan myself. I can't stop it. And let me told you, it's even worst than thinking about breaking it or being faulty... It's thinking about in 2 years from now, my iPhone5, totally new, I'm a care freak, it's not going to run in their own latest iOS updates. You get my point. iPhone7 or iPhoneMe.
My first 3G don't run iOS7 or the latest updates. And it's from 2010???? 3 years ago
So yes, I will pay a 5th of the price of a faulty unit, I don't need it because my EVO arrives next week... , that maybe last me 2 hits and I know what's the deal is about, rather than spending the whole retail price and then I don't like it, or even worst, still liking it but next week the same company launches the next big of the ultra deals, cleaning their stock at the same price as faulty units because their model needs a total change and is no longer compatible with the latest fashion in market and their own latest product. A la big smartphone company fashion, Apple and Samsung
Business are business, some are more humans than others, but at the end, all speak the same universal language $$$$$$$$$$ I don't blame them, everything in this world costs $$$$$$$$$$

Interesting theory (that people will want the real deal after these break). Kind of like pirating software - all publicity is good publicity. I think a valid counter argument.
I think he is right. At least half if not more of the ordered on here own a cloud EVO or have ordered one or have another model cloud. The rest seem to be aspiring cloud owners. I know I am (aspiring).
Guys, this was not directed at anyone. Seriously. My post was just my own stupid opinion. My "love and gushy" remark is in response to a whole bunch of posts about how screwed over VXH was and not wanting to hurt them, etc. by buying one of these. I just don't see it as a moral decision, really.
Again, that's JUST ME. I see it as something I would not buy... because it's going to break. If they were good units at this price, I'd be all over them. They are not, though and that's why they are so cheap with no warranty at all.
And yea, I get why folks are buying them and I'm not trying to start a debate about it, just voicing one old dude's opinion. I'm going to take my $100 and buy a HydraTube
