Hi my battery start again to get issues, after to install the new software I got better battery longlife and now I can only get 1 good session (12-15 hits) before I need to charge it again...

Do you think a reset could help, I remenber they told me to reset unit for something although I don't remenber how...any helps appreciated!

My app is sometime open with a litttle bug (without the first and last letter in "temperature" word....), do you get this issue too?

It's a disappointment cause I used it as my portable daily driver, more I use better it works....except for the battery life...but vapor quality is trully incredible and the "on-demand" feature is absolutly amazing!

Did you ever use the 'use while charging' feature? That is vape with it plugged in, especially when the battery was flat? That is know to kill batteries (the reason behind the change, basically). The new software prevents that, but if you damaged the battery before the change it's permanent damage and the battery needs replacement. It's covered under warranty, I think you should consider sending it in for testing/replacement.

Which brings up the point you really should have a backup vape no matter to fall back on. Backsliding into combustion is not a good option here. Lots of proven solid vapes out there: Air/Solo, VG, MFLB, and a personal favorite VM come to mind. Lately I've been playing with both FlowerMate (I really like the Mini) is under $100 from PIU last I saw, and the Summit (which I think is excellent at the 'grab a couple quick hits on the sly' mode.

Reset will most like ly do no good, it resets the factory heat levels. IIRC you open the app, push all the sliders to the top then plug the unit in. It should not have anything to do with battery life.

Good luck. But if you ever 'used while charging' (and it sounds like you might?) the battery is likely toast.

Well it look's like i know why i'm not getting great battery life now, So the updated app won't do me much good. I guess i'm going to have to send mine in to be tested. I get good results mostly but only get one chamber out of it.

I gotta agree with the back up vape. I think everyone should have a home vape too, You can't go wrong with a log for a home vape, They are very small also do scented oil's and what not take less than a lot of portables and can be left on 24/7.

Hahah yeah I was like pretty sure @PPN is covered... But hard to match the instant effects and phenomenal flavors of Elevape's pure on demand convection (without a flame) isn't it?

(Though the Zion has actually kept me away from my ESV for quite a while now... Despite the size difference between them)

Now to a little show & tell, had this for a few weeks now and made a wong for it!, Had already made a stem but now I made a 14mm wong that fits super snug within the unit and cant wait to get it out back to its owner for feedback. I appreciate him sending it my way and for the opportunity to get out of the box for a brief moment!

Little update about my battery issue...I thought I upgraded my unit to the last software but, after to speak to Sandor I realized I didn't upgraded my unit to the version 1.34....

Made it yesterday...I'll tell you how it improves my battery longlife!

Sorry for the back to back (couldn't edit above version) but I have now an up to date version.

I couldn't even try it before I sent it in. Wow!

I don't think I'll mind waiting for the GH with this. Blew all my expectations away. Never have I had a vape like this ... on demand (I know, preaching to the choir).

@Shit Snacks you're right, you don't need the front mouth screen esp. if you put two screens on as @Vape Dr. suggested

UPDATE
Fully charged and now fully medicated off of 2 coarse bowls of GSC. I'm thankful for the stir lid. I still can't get over the on demand! :smug:

Hey Vape Dr. I just received a new Elevape by purchasing direct from Joe at IPuff. Question. Do I have to grind fine or can I simply put in my herb of choice? Thanks.

With the ESV I prefer to break by hands my flowers, a too fine grinding make your unit dirty and it doesn't taste as good imo, you can even avoid any grind if you get a not too dense bud.

I updated my unit to the last software and it's a lot better now, I can get 3-4 bowls/30-40 nice draws and to know when the battery is empty is a nice feature!

My only issue is I never use another setting than the lower, I can adjust the balance taste/clouds only with drawing time and speed.

Enjoy your ESV!

Yeah my trade off for grinding fine was bigger clouds though, more even avb, still great flavor for the start. But yeah more cleaning needed, what's great is most any will work, just gotta experiment @tobakvape

@Vape Dr. Has very sage advice and if you carefully read his suggestions you may get the most performance. If not for this thread I wouldn't know to ever so lightly to tweak the coil.

During poker night for comparison I had the out the ESV and MiVape. Both were well received but comments on the ESV from friends who don't vape were, "it's as if the vape tastes like the bag type vapes." Friends used to vaping commented on tasting like a high end plug-in.

We all felt the stir lid unnecessary as the model was converted to Vape Dr's "bottle cap screen" and a fine but not too dusty grind (for clouds at 315f). Plus it felt tricky to stir for them. Corse grind will work too but we found that the draws ended after the 5th-ish bumped with a bump to 400f to finish the bowl.

I can sing more praises of this device because it helped my friends see they can get lifted without sparking up. Time and time again a friend would be drawn to the MiVape because it's very neat to look at and use but even with the very short warm up time on the MiVape they pick up the ESV. We exusted the ESV (5 hours w/o charge, 4 varying bowls) while the MiVape was used once or twice.

Then I asked if they had to choose their first portable and they all choose the ESV because of the better performance vs looks ... this from friends who scoff at me vaping.

Observation from my non-vape friends: The ESV has no wait, with out the stir screen and the right settings this out performed the MiVape with the ease of use. No fussing with hot quarts bowls and silicone containers to change your material. They liked that the ESV didn't look like a vape. They were all used to cig-a-likes so they understood the ESV immediately after describing the similar draw action.

I was just pleased they validated my purchase decision.

And don't be surprised if @Ipuffusa gives you over the top customer service.

Ps. Makes wake and vake so easy as you can tell by the length of this post :smug:

@tobakvape Sorry for the late response.

I personally use a medium to fine grind (closer to medium) with a space case grinder.
This also depends on the moisture content of your material as well.
So many people here tweak their units to their desired preference, myself included.

The great thing about the Elevape is not only is it great right out of the box but you can tweak your coil, use different setups for the chamber and chamber lid screens and fine tune it to exactly how you want it to perform and at your set temps. You will truly enjoy the Elevape!

@chillersnov8p LOL so true! I could have 2 or 3 sessions waiting for my crafty to heat to 335F! It takes about 2:45 to reach temp, uses 3 times as much, and doesnt taste nearly as good!
Once you have the instant gratification the Elevape delivers it sucks waiting for your other vapes to heat up.

Are u still using the stir lid attachment, Vape Dr?

@Reflexion I drilled out the chamber lid and use the bottle cap screen, presently not using the stir lid I use my own creation. I believe I posted a step by step DIY post with pics.
This is my current chamber lid set up.
I drilled out the center and broke the 4 walls surrounding the center screw post with needle nose pliers.

This is what it looks like after the operation

This is how I make the bottle cap screens. Use any 510 battery and a fine screen. I trim the bottom folded down part so it is straight. I now leave about 1/8" hanging down.

Insert the bottle cap screen in the chamber and it covers the entire top as well as the sides.

I have actually trimmed the bottom of the screen since this pic so it sits lower in the chamber lid allowing for more room. I fill the chamber up 3/4 full and will get 18-20 draws on 310-315F. the extra space allows you to shake it or tap it on your knee to mix the chamber up. This has been working awesome for me for the better half of a year.

I did this while the stir lids were being produced because I find IMO the allen screw holding the chamber lid screen/screens gets hot and acts as a heat sink.

The stir lids did take care of that issue, however I have been using this design trouble free for as long as I can remember so I see no reason to change anything. It works absolutely amazing for me. I attribute this as to why I clean the unit so infrequently.

I also have a DIY whip attachment on page 1101 using a vapor bros whip, magic flight stem, and a few O-rings so I can use the Elevape in any water pipe.

@PPN My coil is going on a year! Still going strong. I clean out my cooling chamber after about 400 chambers or 2 ounces of herb if need be.

Yes.

I tried to put some fine ground via MFLB finishing grinder and found that to go through the screen. So not as fine as that if that helps to illustrate.

Yeah not powder, but not chunky. Smooth median fine is best for max cloudage. I've got the bottle cap screen like @Vape Dr. but formed around an AA battery since I don't have any mod things, and I didn't shave the caps screw post etc down either since I can't.

I'm experimenting with mine again, cleaned and charged it up for use last night first time since Zion came. Used courser grind than usual and put my temps at 1, 5, and 10 (last two lower than they were). Nice strong effects from just one puff, not muxh clouds cuz of how I had it set, especially when trying smaller load, to be expected. I'll get to trying that again too, need to get used to it again, we'll see if I really stick to it though... I don't know

Just so Dab HAppy!
@Vape Dr. - What diameter size screen are you starting with? Any links for buying them. I have been using the stir lid for the longest time, but I have always found myself on the cusp of combustion which I really don't like because sometimes it just happens and it tastes horrible and smells and I just hate combustion altogether now. I have tried the bottle cap method in the past but found myself stirring it to often and also struggling to get enough heat to the flowers. I am thinking about trying this method again after reading your post above.

Also, I was looking back at post 1101 and ended up in your photobucket. You have a couple pictures of a mill finished ESV body that looks quite interesting. I'm not sure if you ever mentioned it in this thread before, but was that a prototype you were working on yourself or something you were working on with Joe/IpuffUSA? The pictures show a very similar body, however it looks like the mill finish body in the picture would provide some very much needed extra protection to the coil & coil sensor lens from ABV particles. Looks interesting at the very least...
