Discontinued Elevape SV

@Jsqz - Thanks for the info! I will try giving it a few more charges to see if all 6 cells get balanced and if it doesn't resolve after that I will contact Joe. I don't want to bother him until I know I have a real issue :)

How long does your battery last now?

@ZenMonkey I haven't actually checked by hooking back up to the computer, but I was able to get 2 sessions approximately 24 hours apart (which may play a factor since it is always on "standby") without charging. A vast improvement over what I was getting before, but I think that other members have counted and are between 60 and 80 hits per charge (please correct me if this is wrong). One of the ways that Joe determined the problem was that it charged too quickly, so that is another sign to look out for. I apologize for not paying more attention to these things precisely to help other members, but I thought my issue may have been an isolated one. I hope some of what I said helped.

i cannot wait to try it. I exchanged one for three torch-needing-vapes and now it is on it´s way to me (i hope so dear fc-member....if the ele does not fit my needs, I think I have to try the crafty.

Massdrop is only one day left. I really want one, but at that price the firefly is a viable option too.

Today,I sent my power module to the EU service center in Hungary cause the very low battery autonomy.
Joe told me they can sold me accessories but there is no accessorie page in the EU store...only the Elevape....

Do you know where to order stirring lid and replacement coils if you don't live in USA?

I already asked this question to Joe but still not get any answer....wait...

For statistical purposes only, I charged my ESV to 100%, used it as normal (6-8 hits at lunch, at 335F & 355F), then checked the charge. It was down to about 85%. I unplugged it, and used it the next day, and checked it that evening, and it was at just about 75%. Used it again today, same usage, plugged it in, and it was down to about 60%. I'm letting it juice up a bit, right now.

So, really, I'm using about 15% of the power every time I use it, and, to be more precise, I hit it at 335F for maybe 3 hits, bump it to 355F, hit it 3 or 4 more times. I might "stir" if I think it needs it, if by "stir" you mean open it up, poke a fingertip in to see if it's all brown on the bottom, ruff it up a bit, then stick the lid back on. I often don't, as I'm at work. Much less smell possibility if I leave it closed.

It doesn't seem to be using more power as the charge is reducing, either. YMMV, of course.

So, based on this, I could probably wait until Friday to charge it, but I'm satisfied with just knowing that I could possibly eke out a whole work week on one charge, if necessary, especially if hit lightly (3 or 4 per day).

Cool, thanks for the report. Sounds like you too agree with the maker's claim of '50 to 80 puffs per charge'? Even with heavier use than you, I think the battery is OK capacity wise. It's kind of a pity you need a computer to read the battery level, but at least you can.

I did a pretty heavy run when I first got it and got 56 hits IIRC. Not so useful perhaps for full on sessions, especially with higher tolerance folks, but just fine for 'topping up' and light duty?

For sure the average power consumption (in Watts) will be the same, but in terms of battery life since the voltage is falling the average current will have to go up. That is the battery absolutely will 'drain' faster at the bottom of the charge, but only about 15% so so you're unlikely to notice. FWIW Solo and Air do exactly the same thing (heat for more seconds per cycle to compensate for the lower battery voltage). I was able to confirm this effect there by measurement. For the world to keep spinning the way it is, ESV has to follow the same laws.

Was using my esv today and thought how cool would it be if there were custom glass mouth tips(smaller or larger bore) or even wood tips similar to something from eds TNT pieces.

Great idea. Glass might be tougher since it's not the standard e-cig size so tooling to mold them would make small volumes very expensive. OTOH it looks like a natural for Ed......once he gets aroudn to it.

I'd like a wood one, please. Hitting my teeth with the aluminum is turning out to be a buzz kill......

I'd also be down for a wood one. I did some googling a while ago and although 801 (I believe thats the size) sized tips do come in wood and I think glass as well, they don't seem very common.

I'm with you guys! would be neat to have a blackwood/bog wood mouthpiece. I went ahead and sent ed a message and a couple of pictures of esv..did a search and was unable to find just the mouthpiece for sale and i cant find the measurements on their site for the mouthpiece. cant find my tape measure either, if a fellow fc member could measure their mouthpiece that would be a big help! i want to provide ed with all the info he needs.

Ah, yes. The Bog Oak...... That prayed on my mind until I ordered one for my Solo. I had to have it. Not so much for the stem design as much as a stem made from 5400 year old wood. That's old, older than I feel most days. It trips me out to sip vapor though it and think 'this sucker was near 1000 years old (four times as old as my country......) while the rocks of the great pyramid at Giza were still in the ground. It was over 2000 years old before the Spinx saw the light of day for the first time. Older than the oldest man made thing I've ever seen. Makes a guy feel small. And I can own/enjoy it for a modest sum. How cool is that?

Anyway, the MP is different than most, it depends on the ring to secure it. It's otherwise loose in the bore. On mine, the mating part is .388 in diameter and .205 from shoulder to end. The bore is .400. The ring is about .410 OD and 'locks into' a groove the the bore, .10 or so in.

PM me if he needs more measurements of a photo? TIA

ed has reached back out and said it would be possible to make, he just wants to get an actual mouthpiece in his hands so he can get all the measurements from it. @OF im going to send him your measurements as well. i'm going to see if i can buy a mouthpiece from Joe to send over to Ed. it will take a few weeks due to some current projects Ed is working on im glad he gave me a heads up.

The old delrin mouthpiece is much better than aluminum btw, much tighter/secure fit in the hole, zero wobble, its a tad longer too, with a wider hole so better airflow. Would be great if ed used one of those as a base, but don't know if Joe has anymore.

Getting ready to ship my unit back to Joe for a spring tune up. Been using this unit heavy for the last 8 months and battery has been worn down. Currently getting around 20 hits out of it. Really can't complain I used the battery for many hours and things wear out.

Joe offers a 49.99 battery swap and unit tune up. Really $50 seems about average for a battery exchange and since he also looks unit over and I'm hoping change the screen. It's overall not a bad deal.

Going really miss this unit, so had to buy something new to play with and heck it's almost 4/20 anyways :). Figure a pax2 would fit the bill. Elevape with a new battery along with pax2 should be enough to cover most trips away from home :)

I think that's a great deal for battery swap. My unit going on one year. Not a heavy user but it is my only vape. Battery seems to hold pretty much the same as new. I'm also thinking of a pax2 as a companion. Only thing I don't like about sv is group sessions which the pax2 would cover nicely.

Anyone had problemas charging their unit? I thought that my battery was broken and send it to Joe. He swaped it and did some testing for a couple days and it seems like the unit was working flawlesly.

But now that I have it, I can't charge it. The unit works as perfect as always, but I don't know why but the light is always green and it doesn't charge. When I plug it to my laptop I can see the low level battery (20% now) but it doesn't charge. I have tried 4 different wall plugs, 4 different USB clables and even 2 different PC's and none of them charge my unit.

I'm waiting to hear from more Joe and I know he will take care of me (awesome customer service) but in the meantime, anyone know what can it be?

I believe I've seen the delrin mouthpiece on the older pics of the esv on ipuffs site.

I have an unused delrin mouthpiece I can send Ed if it will help the cause..

Yes, please reach out to Ed. I placed my order for a stirring lid and extra mouthpiece yesterday..once it shows up I'm going to ship it to him. Would be cool to have a choice between original and delrin pieces.

Thanks subway!
