I could not agree with this less, particularly the "definitely" part.
Classic you! lol
Yeah I just find the tech and design of this much more revolutionary than the firefly personally, the greater portability and temp settings clinch it for me. But it also definitely has a steeper learning curve than the ff.
My first firefly didn't have to be stirred which was really nice, but it was also lower in temp and couldn't get as dark as my ESV. Newer firefly replacement hits hotter and harsher, and requires stirring just like the ESV. ESV hits are so much cooler, my old ff tasted better but this new one gets hot spots so taste actually doesn't last long though it starts great.
Add that to esv's longer battery life and use while usb charging, ff only has it beat in battery swappability (but ff batteries dont tend to hold their charges so well or last that long, so to me its like it really needs the battery replacent, its more like Thermovape T1 to me in that way actually).
Even though my newer ff hits harder, my esv is still overall more powerful for me and others I've used them with. A friend got an esv and his experience has been very positive as well, he hits it out at bars and during work, but he's also a combuster too so he's not as picky as we are, but loves the convection power of the esv for stealthy hits.
For me, it costed $260 for the Elevape and $240 for the Firefly with extra battery (I now have one new one, an old hood one, and two sporadic duds that I never need to use) putting them on reasonable grounds, and I definitely think the Elevape is more worth the money (I think ff was a little overpriced even at what I paid). I am glad I bought the Elevape first, but am also glad I bought the firefly and plan to keep both even when my Grasshopper and Zion arrive (though I expect the Hopper to be my most used portable portable, since it ticks all my marks it seems...)
@Jsqz I love its versatility, the various temps, different grinds, lids, and other mods make it capable of finding a niche for many users if they can be patient with it.
If you crave sheer simplicity, the esv may not be best ofcourse, hence why my firefly gets more group use
