Well we were discussing it briefly quite some pages back it was actually the inventive @LesPlenty who put me on to the existence of the fantastic little Ti @DDave vapcap screens.

https://www.ddavemods.com/store/p86/VapCap_Mesh_Screen_Replacements.html

I'm glad you asked Ed because I just saw on Dave's site that's his legal situation may be looking more promising after all which is great news (only because I want to get some more of those handy little screens of course lol).

Wishing you a speedy and full resolution there @DDave .

So yeah, @Ed's TnT these ti screens really have improved my woodscents experience because the thing I struggled with most of all was the restricted airflow.

The DDave screens have improved my woodscents and vapcap experience immeasurably.
I def recommend.

Got this DDave screens in the mail today. Using EDs Woodscent wpa on a Magic Flight Orbiter with a mouthpiece. Damn, what a difference. This screens are the shit, can only recommend them. Giving much more airflow, resulting in even milkier, more tasty hits.

hi, are these screens are meant to replace the CCD? right?

Anyone using the new heaters yet? Is a VVPS still a worthy accessory with the new heaters?

Scooped a two-tone Amboyna Burl the other day, and eagerly awaiting delivery. Been watching since this thread was created

@Alex3oe my experience exactly with the DDave screens, switching to them not only improved my Woodscents experience but also the vapcap in general.

So I'm glad to hear that others are appreciating the improved airflow as much as myself.

@muunch
I can suggest one potential advantage to using a VVPS- I have recently been enjoying my Woodscents more than ever since owning it 2 years ago. I made am interesting discovery a fortnight ago.

I set up rhe WS one evening. I just wanted a quick vape to blast through a few bowls and get medicated so I could get on with something. But for some reason I wasn't getting any real visible or satisfying vapor though I was getting vapor and the unit had been on for some time, on 9 I think.

I could feel the heating element was warm, but my ABV wasnt darkening at all. I was getting impatient trying to figure out what variable was at play preventing the extraction and performance I expected. Sometimes there can be a simple obvious thing which has been missed like a clogged screen or air leak somewhere.

I raised it to max. I wasn't interested in spending too long trying to figure it out and I still didn't get any decent performance so I switched to a different vaporizer.

But afterwards I looked down at the power plug adaptor extension cable, and clocked how many plugs were running off it at that moment.

I also remembered visiting a friend's house a few years ago and we had trouble getting performance out of two of his desk tops in his log cabin next to the house and it was discovered it was to do with the power there, while they both work perfectly indoors.

So anyway next time I set the Woodscents up I plugged it into a different socket in the room and I think that made a huge difference to the performance and the vapor production and consistency. I'm pretty sure that the whole time I had it running off of that other cable it was never really getting maximum power depending how many other appliances were plugged in each time.

With vapes like the Flowerpot, and my digital Herborizer, this likely won't be an issue. They appear to to just draw the power they need to perform at the temperature they display.

The DigiTi has run flawlessly off that lead no matter how many other appliances are running, identically to how it performs at any other socket in the house in terms of heat up time and consistency.

My WS however, I don't think I was ever getting optimal performance and extraction from it until I discovered this in combination with the improved airflow from the titanium mesh screens.

I can use 8.5 with a fast draw, also airflow about 25% open with my Omnivap ( @Ed's TnT original blackwood Vong with carb hole for Omnivap ), without straining my lungs, and generate huge amounts of really smooth and tasty vapour in just seconds, exhaling a huge cloud. I also seem to get so much more vapour and good consecutive worthwhile hits this way it may be be the vape signature and extraction is more efficient and less wasteful this way, probably higher in true convection but unsure about that.

Anyway, a VVPS should eliminate this potential aspect which could cause greatly varied experience between WS owners. For peace of mind and consistency too, honing in on your sweetspot much better.

Although I don't think the VVPS set up is quite like the digital controller vapes lije FP, Herbo Ti, etc in terms of precision and consistency at each and every moment.

But useful once up to temp, it should perform the same every time and in all different power outlets in the house I would assume.

Hope all folks are good tonight. Damn, I'm giving myself cravings to rig up my Digital Herbo to make a change. It's good to rotate. I'm on it! :)

I think I'll play around with the dial for a bit and then go for a VVPS if I really feel it's necessary after some time.

Super super excited to get this bad boy
Yes that makes sense see how you get on I mean I'm not exactly feeling the great need for a VVPS myself. If it was just a couple of quid I'm sure I would get one but I can can get pretty consistent performance just using the dial. Just make sure that you have full power available where you plug it in. Looking really forward to hearing your impressions mate I hope you like it and it fills a niche or just offer some nice variety.

Oh man! I just got my WS, and fired it up in earnest last night and just now. I'm really liking this thing! First off, it's gorgeous (pics to follow later this week). I've got a lot of experience with Underdog logs, and have been used them a LOT over the last 2-3 years. So, I'm biased, because I love log vapes in the fall / winter. Just leaving them on all evening, and having that warm feeling in the room, and hitting on it whenever I want... It just feels so cozy. :)

So, back to ED's... I really dig the DynaVap compatibility. It's a really nice addition which let's me use a whole range of stems / accessories. It really makes the experience tailored how I want it, which is awesome. I am also really happy with the heater. I am used to the UD logs being able to keep up with huge milky hits, and this was no different. What impressed me most though, is the heat up time. I have not timed it yet, but it seemed like it was ready to go in like 3 minutes.

Anyhow, I'm high AF now, after going through a couple bowls on this things testing it out now. So, I'll quit babbling, and go play with my wood...

So yeah, I love this thing, and it's going to be a great time getting to know it more this winter! The craftsmanship, attention to detail, and heart, really make this thing a joy to use! :)

also, the stems are really gorgeous as well!

It's a Buckeye Burl Live Edge. I'm really digging it! :)

I really wanted a live edge (or unit with voids, or etc) but ended up with a solid, two-tone.

Hope to see some pics of yours soon, and hope to hear more impressions of those with the updated heater. Excited to hear about the super quick heat-up.

Mine will be arriving tomorrow. Will get pics up once I can.

Good morning everyone, last couple days I have been getting great feedback from new users of the upgraded WS. Have just posted a video at my IG feed where guy is doing concentrates at 9 on the temp dial with a straight glass stem with Ti tip ripping off hefty clouds. Has had great results with flower at 6 on the dial.

Pls see for yourself.

Am really excited to see and hear how the upgraded units are being received.

During all this packing and moving and unpacking I have misplaced a few things and had to get some more leather for the bottoms of the units. I really like the embossed leather I had been using and found this western style print with turquoise tones. Feel it will match all the species well also adds another unique and beautiful accent to the WS from top to bottom.

WS-Leather-Bottoms.png

Would like to also tell you all I have quite a few loads of wood on the way. Some I have been hunting for a long long time that will allow me to offer the WS in a different style. Also have quite a few treasures coming and even a couple new species.

Also hope you all have heard about the 3rd Annual Make A Wish Fundraiser/Raffle I have put together that will run the entire month of November. Have all the maker offerings in hand, pics shot, specs info done, most all photo editing done. Have the grand prize totaled at over $2200 with 18 runnersup prizes totaling about $1400. This is going to be huge and will have a one of a kind grand prize like none other awarded to a single winner. I am posting specifics at my blog at edstnt.com and also at my IG feed. Pls have a look, I would really appreciate your support and participation to make this a great success in raising funds for the MAW foundation.

Am still waiting on parts to get here that look like they will show up early next week to begin production of the workstations. I am very eager to get those going and post up for you all.

@Alexis Yes sir you can say that again, combustion did happen but must have been had to get to where it needed to be where its at today. Wow bro thats very exciting stuff you have posted as for your usage and where you have found yourself with the WS as of late. I like where you are at with it and feel that its best. All WS heaters should run as close to the same as intended by manf. build. Have read in other threads for logs in the past that electric grids may vary from area to area. Whatever I can do to help in any way Id be happy to do so.

@Ramahs I feel there are many variables that affect WS usage but feel that draw speed is the most significant. As I have said many times slow steady and consistent work best for me

@LesPlenty I remember when you posted that a ways back, alot of time put into that chart, appreciate you doing so and posting it up, thanks much.

@Alex3oe Thanks for the update bro.

@GoldenBud Pls let me know if you do the swap also.

@muunch Appreciate all the updates and chats over at IG and look forward to your posts here on. I am really happy you are enjoying it as much as you are.

@Verax Bro it was a pleasure to work with you and do all I did on your order from the unit to the custom work it was a blast and thank you for the kind words. I like others here am anxious to see your pics and hear more of how you are enjoying it.

@letter never sent I am glad to hear you are rocking yours and feel you, there needs to be more pics and hope we all get to see more. He got a sweet BuckEye Burl WS with LE upper rim, I have it posted at my IG feed if you would like to have a quick look.

Wishing everyone a great day and week ahead. I hope I have covered everything and been helpful, alot of good things happening now and soon stay posted and holla if you need me.

@Ed's TnT easy brother. Thanks from us all for your posting you know we all love your inouts and updates on all things TnT.

Just a couple comments or thoughts come to my ceaselessly active mind. One is how I love the way you always respond to every little question as we have discussed and I totally understand your general Ethos and Outlook with regard to to modesty and humbleness and full respect for others and openness towards all unconditionally, but not to be walked over like a rug which is on the line of that little bit of wisdom and example your father expressed to you, and what a solidly good man I'm sure he must have been as well, judging by how his son turned out.

I definitely really appreciate how he put it though.

Okay sorry Ed I'm nicely high tonight after a stressful but productive and positive day, and the WS has played a huge part in that I'll have you know, so.... what goes around comes around and your karma is now my drivell!

Haha I like that phrase a lot too. I can see that being useful in many situations.

So back to my point Ed about how you can't help yourself but answer any and all questions.
So what IS your bank account number again please lol?

Okay enough stoned Tomfoolery from me. I actually only really wanted to make one specific point. Love the new leather design, I immediately thought of Syd Barrett and those mad 60's psychedelic carpets and wallpapers haha. I like.

And yeah Ed I'm with you it's gonna be good fuh hearing folks reporting on the new heaters.

Have a nice Sunday evening across shores everybody.

Hi all,

I’ve recently discovered the Woodscents (and that Ed’s tnt does more than Dynavap/RBT stems ).

Before I make a purchase, there are some curiosities I’m hoping you can help me explore:
  • Can the condenser in the longer Dynavap stem be removed/replaced with an Omni condenser (or upgraded with a Dynavap spinning mouthpiece)?
  • As a desktop unit, are you able to attach a whip? Is the unit heavy enough to use with a whip without tipping over? (I ask this because I like one handed use, but in every video I’ve seen people are two handing it).
  • Can the aroma dish be used with dry herbs like lavender or orange peels, or only with fragment oils?
  • If you pack a stem and leave it sitting on the unit, will it cook the herb or only while your taking a draw?
Apologies if I’m being completely oblivious, but there are the things on my mind.

Thank you!

no, it's as long as the longer DynaVap condenser

Not directly. The WoodScent would be too light weight. I put the WoodScent on my Mobius clone with a whip attached. And it's no problem to use the WoodScent one handed with one of the stems or even a j-hook.

Good morning,

@Alexis Your shenanigans got me grinning lol. Glad you like the new leather bottoms, was a neat find and look forward to putting out new units with it to hear how that aspect is received. Hope all is well your way and wish you the best.

@TastyCakeWasTasty Hello, let me try to answer your questions and thank you for your interest in my work.
  • Can the condenser in the longer Dynavap stem be removed/replaced with an Omni condenser (or upgraded with a Dynavap spinning mouthpiece)? The stem itself is 3"L without the tip so adding a MP would increase the length making the condenser shorter and not usable as intended.
  • As a desktop unit, are you able to attach a whip? Is the unit heavy enough to use with a whip without tipping over? (I ask this because I like one handed use, but in every video I’ve seen people are two handing it). The WS itself is not that large or heavy at all. Its about 4"H x 2"OD and rather lightweight but as @Alex3oe has mentioned there are ways of using it with techniques making it possible.
  • Can the aroma dish be used with dry herbs like lavender or orange peels, or only with fragment oils? I cant say this for certain myself as I have never done so in the manner. Do know that it works well with fragrance oils certainly.
  • If you pack a stem and leave it sitting on the unit, will it cook the herb or only while your taking a draw? IMO I dont see a need to leave a loaded stem on the unit when powered up but thats me myself.
Hope I have been helpful and if I can do or answer anything else pls do let me know.

@Alex3oe Appreciate you posting up with advice, thanks much.

Easy Ed. This is true, it only takes a draw to get that tip ultra hot. And to be honest I don't think it really needs to even be that hot to get the performance you are looking for because I never actually need to sit the heater on the tip to get instant dense, heavy vapor production from a fresh load which will always be the best hit to start with depending on loading and inhalation of course.

So it's really not necessary from a performance point of view at the same time I don't think there's really much harm in it.

Of course if you are keeping that tip hot, connected to the heater for an extended period then you can expect a loss of some actives, but this is so easy to work around that is just not an issue.

TDLR- What he said!
