Good morning you all, wow wow what a great Christmas it was with the boys and my girl, this was my first year to have the boys all to myself for Christmas, we have it in the papers that we swap out the holidays from year to year so this was my year and how wonderful it was to be with them. Wound up having them for 5 days straight, there is 80 acres wrapped around me owned by a brother and sister living in a couple different states, so the boys and I struck out on a scouting adventure one afternoon, didnt figure we would be gone that long or cover as much ground as we did but sure enough 2 hours and 5 miles later is was getting late and the boys were spent. We were jumping creeks, spooking wild turkeys, even had to literally throw my youngest across a creek cause it was just to wide for him to jump or me to straddle, he was worried a bit but all was good when he was safe and dry on the other side. My middle son being a worry wart was nervous bout half way in and was wanting to turn back but by that time we were too far gone. He says ohhh dad I think I am going to be sick, not one to give in and baby him I was like hey you wanna be sick or you wanna get home before dark, not having a light of any sort I put one foot in front of the other and off we went. Another short while into our adventure he is asking me Dad are you sure you know where you are going, are you sure you know how to read your GPS lol, ohhh he was so not feeling very positive nor trusting my choice of directions, we trekked on. Finally bout 10 minutes before dark he notices an old barn near our place that he recognized he was right behind me and I heard him let out a big sigh and then said in his next breath oh Lord thank you Jesus, I let out a big laugh and was grinning, he picked up the pace with a passion I hadnt seen since the beginning, that boy was the first one at the house LOLZ. I took them to their moms after lunch on Christmas day then spent a few more wonderful days with my girl before I left for another truly epic goose and crane hunt in Lubbock, Texas. She has a couple kids a young son and daughter both great kids but their dad had them for the holiday so gave us good quality time together. The 28th I drove 13 hours to Lubbock picked up my cuz at the airport headed tot the lodge. Both hunts were like the ones you see on the outdoor channel where you have so many birds coming in that its just so overwhelming and incredible, first day we had a 10 man limit in 30 minutes, 2nd day another 10 man limit in 25 minutes, we spent more time setting up and picking up then we actually did shooting, we were in and out leaving the field just as we entered it, picked up and put away any trace of human activity, gosh mother nature is a beautiful sight. Left out the 30th east bound to Little Rock, my girl had the kids doing time at her moms there, cut my drive by 5 hours, didnt have to get a hotel, and got to meet her mom and family how cool. Spent the night there then southbound to get the boys for new years eve, Carters Bday was the 2nd, he wanted to have a party on new years eve so I stopped Walmart grabbed a cake and a couple candles to make 13 geez, these boys are going to be men in no time and I will be an old man before I know it. We did lemon pepper crusted crane steaks on the grill with veggies ohhhh and cant forget the kings Hawaiian rolls, not sure you all do those, if you dont you so gotta try em, dont be that guy and say nah nah they arent for me, believe me they are so for you and everyone else, the boys love em! Carter has so been wanting a 20 gauge semi auto, got a sweet deal on one, will be a great piece considering he and I are headed to south Texas end of this month for one last duck hunt, his first in Texas should be popping. Also be a great piece for 4H which will be kicking off in a couple months. These boys, they are so going to be going off this year, air rifle & pistol, archery, .22 pistol & rifle, & skeet, 4H will be a lot of fun in 17!
I cant say it enough yall, 2017 is going to be an amazing year, am so so enthusiastic bout my life with my sons, my girl, her kids, the biz, gosh what a positively encouraging feeling it is to have to wake up to every morning the Lord blesses me with!
@little maggie Oh my darling, ohhh we are so so close, I am giving it my all shooting for way before march, I cant wait any longer, gotta get some dough back to prepare for the second batch. I really appreciate all your continued support over the years, you have been there for so much, I hope your last big purchase is all you hoped it would be and then some!
@Eyedunno My man, ok ok so its been killing me keeping my mouth shut all this time, since I am so close and just waiting on the final components to be in hand for assembly I am going to let you in on what I have been up to. As you all know I am going Ti, well who do we all know that is a whiz at Ti, who have I worked with and done pieces for which were incorporated into a Ti portable piece? Its just a no brainer, he and I have been talking and working with each other on the WS project since late September I wanna say on this idea, the beta testers have had the Ti WS and have had great performance with it. The internal airpath and mount will be completely made of Ti, the WS stem will utilize a VC tip. That being said you will be able to use any VC a user already has with the WS, you will not use the VC cap at all with the WS, there will be no need for that. You will simply load your WS stem or VC as you always have then slide the tip over the top of the airpath then draw to get thick rich vapor simple as that. Am so so close and must say there is so much more to come down the road that this is only the beginning. I cant express my excitement and enthusiasm to be working with George on the WS and having him be such an important part of this units creation and development past, present, and future!
I know there will be many many questions asked regarding this news, I want everyone to know that at this point I am keep it very simple, yes this is a big deal and this will open the door to so many possibilities in the future but at this time and for right now I am going with the principle of KISS, I am sure and hope you all understand.
Also
@Eyedunno I am going for a base domestic line of Walnut, Maple, Cherry, & White Ash. I also will have a high end offering of a few choice burl species of Buckeye, Thuya, & Redwood. I also want you all to keep in mind that the WS will have a complete Ti internal airpath and mounting base as well as a Ti tip, its med grade and not cheap, there is quiet a bit of Ti going into the WS, it will cost quiet a bit, overall the offering will be well worth every penny. The domestic base will be cheaper than the burl choice species of course. I have even just acquired some rather large chunks that will make for a priceless package never been done before.
@phattpiggie Ohhhhhh my man dont you know, dont you know, woot woot!
@jeffp Wow my man, been a while, its so good to see and hear from you bro! Many many of you here at FC dont know but Jeff is the guy that brought me to FC, he got a dugout from me long long time ago I wanna say, either he got one or found that I made em had me post up one thing led to another then I was doing a dugouts combustion related thread here. Jeff encouraged me to reach out to PD and MZ to make wooden stems,
@Rick was very polite and friendly as well as helpful, one thing led to another and here I am today. Much much longer than when we first spoke of my intentions right Jeff? But never the less better late then never! Gone are the days of the old heater setup used in those 2 logs, the WS will be using a similar airpath setup many here are familiar with. Gotta give you a big big thanks for your invitation to me several years back and encouragement here at FC as well as many others that has brought me to where I am today, THANK YOU ALL!
I will post up pics and all that very soon so hang on, this ride is about to get started, buckle up its going to be an exciting journey I am thankful to share with you all!
