Good morning everyone, is awful cold down here in my neck of the woods, probably the coldest its been all year. Have one last weekend for the ducks and have a golden ticket to the WMA in the delta woot woot!
Ok so here is a pretty big UPDATE, WoodScents is going live in Europe tonight at my guys site
https://www.vaporisateur.net/ I have been working with him close to 10 years now. Great people there very helpful and knowledgeable. I know he has been working his butt off to get all the info correct and translated. Wow, how cool is that??? So get over there if you are in the EU and grab a WS! Been a long time coming.
Oh have a look at that piece above after I did my thing
Made the stand from the side of that large blank, recessed a magnet under the stem and filled that side and void with CA glue to sand it flush with the top of the stand for a clean look and feel. Stem and wong came from a different blank, all same species. Am really happy with how this worked out and hope guy is as well. What do you all think?
@pxl_jockey That was a nice Redwood Burl WS, if you decide to get another down the road you know I will work with you to make sure its what youre after you know that. You are right bro, I can tell if it will work or wont. I look at em several times over before I mark either end before it ever gets worked up. Even the most least figured blank, I will look at the grain and see which end will look best from top to bottom. If there is only one teeny tiny burl eye in a walnut and will only show if its turned where its at the top, then thats how I mark it and thats how it gets worked up. No doubt bro, that is for sure a crazy looking WS specimen aint it.
@dendamper My man I will always do my best to reply to every post, as I have said before you took the time to stop by here and post then I better take the time and acknowledge that. I hope you like the update above and by all means reach out to them. I know he said there are already a few that have been spoken for so hit them up. I assure you my man at Vaporisateur is very solid and will do you right. I will give you a heads up that he will only be stocking walnut maple and cherry, any other species will have to gotten through my site and figure if you want one other than the domestics you better grab it soon as they move quickly. Get at me by email and lets talk more about it. I know and work with the other dealers you have mentioned and am sure they will also at some point offer the WS at some point. We just gotta cross one bridge at a time is all. Yes thats hows you spell the name of that place. Is a nice area was quiet and relaxing. Was fun to walk those streets and the countryside as well as in the couple pubs there at night. Pls let me know if there is anything else I can do for you and I wish you the best.
@Modicum I appreciate your post on your experience with the WS and the glass fumed stem, its a great accessory for the WS and to me improves the experience to me as well. Appreciate always your posts giving advice to others.
@-dab8- Hope you are enjoying your pieces bro!
@Summer Were you able to get a look at it?
@Whisper Glad you got it and hope you are enjoying it.
@doublerainbow I am sorry I know nothing about glass.
@sisonpyh Yes sir you are right, pennies a day, not sure where its posted at but I remember my guy
@Stevenski posted that. Glad you find it to be a great place here as well. Got my 12th year in biz coming up soon so gotta cross that bridge. Also gotta make the 2019 body style happen this year. So many good things happening, keep an eye out.
@StoneMan I have always liked the look and simplicity of the Orbiter, I dont have one but guess I should at some point, be neat to just have lol. I am really glad you like that fumed glass stem and I like your recent piece above, very cool! You know me I will do what I do til I cant do it anymo.
@LesPlenty You are right bro, there is a slight difference across all the units pretty much. Sounds like you have nailed down your technique very well.
@blokenoname You are right also, the cartridge heater I use has a small tolerance as well. You are also right about species and density. My super tight grain species like Cocobolo and even the Amboyna bodies are hotter than the less dense walnut or buckeye. Thanks for the post.
@Modicum alot to it isnt it, alot of people think ohh its just a piece of wood with a couple holes and heater in it.
@Ramahs great shot of your abv, thanks for the post.
Gotta be out yall, had the heater on in the shop for a few hours, should be warm out there so time to make some magic. Wish you all the best!
