Sorry to hear about your Dad being ill Ed, I've always thought highly (pun intended) of your work and presence around here!

When you get a chance (seriously I don't mind if it takes a week or two, that's when I'll actually have a Solo anyway), could you let me know whether you'll have any black wood shorty Solo stems (the 3 inch ones that work as 14mm WonG as well) that are currently out of stock on your page?

Thanks and best wishes for your Dad, yourself and your family in the meantime man!

You can buy a 18mm Wong for the Solo it would fit an 18 mm WT.

I really like Snappo's when I saw it here and on the Solo thread. Thanks for sharing pics with us. Snappo has the 18 mm black wood Wong. It works well a mouthpiece as well with a WT.

Good evening you all, I buried my dad yesterday afternoon, it was a bright sunny day about 85 degrees, the wind was blowing and was very peaceful. He was laid to rest between his father and brother near his mother on a nice hill overlooking a lake not far from the graveyard. He took his last breath Wednesday afternoon with my 2 sisters and I by his side. He wasnt struggling or in pain, they were giving him morphine every hour to alleviate any pain. I was called in at 8am that morning, they were saying he didnt have much time left but I could see his heart still beating strong. He was still running that race and didnt want to give up, my old man was as tough as they come. As the morning went to noon and soon the afternoon his breathing became more shallow and the nurse said we were close. His passing was really tough for us all and me especially being the closest to him. I soon had a calm come over me and a sense of realization that he was in a better place. He had been having a lot more bad days than good and his mind was leaving him. My Aunt said he got his head right with the Lord before he started loosing it. I know he has his sanity now and is with his mom, dad and brother walking those streets of gold rejoicing in glory! Better dayz are upon him and are ahead of us all!

I know I have said it many times just how blessed I am to be a part of FC and want to thank you all for showing me again how blessed I am. I have popped in here from time to time reading you alls post and finding strength in them. I appreciate you all for keeping my family and I in your hearts and in your prayers. I am sorry I havent had the time to stop and tell you all until now, but I am very grateful!

Thank you all!

Ed - These aren't the easiest of times for you now, and time with your family is most important and needed. In many ways we men realize as we get on in age that we are really chips off the old block - when we look into a mirror to shave - when we hear our own voice when it comes from the heart - when we look into the eyes and heart of another - in all that he was, we are also, and then some in other ways that our fathers helped set into the motions and directions that we take. The toughness, honor, heart, and integrity that you put into your business and personal life is a mirror reflection of your father's life and eternal soul - it continues to live on in you! Your father is always with you! Carry on, Ed - and know that we're here for you too. Be at peace.

Your friend,
Snappo

Hello and good day you all, I hope all is well out there. I have been getting back in the grind, doing admin stuff, ordering parts, and shipping orders. Its always something to be done around here. Its one of those days, so much to do and never enough time to do it all. I am already putting together a list for tomorrow of things I meant to get done today that I have to put aside until another day. Damn I need an intern!

@Enchantre Thank you for the post, I am in a better place and hope you are as well. We dont have long here on this Earth and the time we have with others is very little, I hope you had some good times with your dear friend, cherish them as I do with my Dad!

@Snappo Very well said! I am my father, I was at the nursing home gathering my dads stuff Friday and I was making my way through the halls hugging and thanking all the staff for being there for him and making his time there more than just an old folks home. They were very good to him, they kept him active and always busy talking to him and playing games. I had one nurse tell me something about him and I gave her that "O yeah" kinda look and she looked right at me and said you are your daddy, you got that look just like him! That made me feel really good and you are right my dad still lives inside of me. Thank you for those kind heartfelt words!

@Reflections Thank you for the WB, I missed not staying on top of all the posts and am sure I missed addressing some of them. As I said above its been go go go and trying to keep up is real hard today! I have been giving your Koa stems some thought and did order some non toxic adhesive last week for the turquoise. It should be here today and I may just have a little time to get something made up for you this week but pls dont hold me to it!

@CHIDOY Thanks for your post bro and for commenting on the loss of my Pop's, he was a good man.

@1_gr8_underdog Thank you to for welcoming me back, I feel ya bro and appreciate your post.

@Chicken Charlie Thanks for saying that, I try man I really do. I am not as good a guy as I would like to be. I am a little selfish at times and dont always listen like I should but I try to shine in other ways to make up for my lack in others. I appreciate you saying that about my dad, I was proud of him. We both had our times, our good and bad. I can always remembeer when he would introduce me to someone he would say, "This is my son!" I felt it when he said it.

Its that time of year down here again ya'll, its freaking tornado season and we have a hellova warning going on for today and tomorrow about them. I am sure you all have seen the damage from the one that went through Arkansas last night, God be with those souls and the rest of down here! Its 78 degrees and the winds are whipping back and forth. They are even letting my kids outa school early today so they wont be in the bad stuff later this afternoon. I love the south but hate all the damn tornados. Guess with the good come the bad. Oh but this coming weekend its supposed to be really nice, in the 80's and sunny. I am gonna be taking saturday and sunday off to go camping with my boys and some good friends at the river. Gonna put the boats in and soak up all the good vibes. My friend has a big pontoon boat and a sweet ski boat so we are gonna spend some time on the water enjoying it for all we can. We are gonna have a generator tucked away from the sand bar, several tents pitched, Christmas lights hanging all over, fireworks for the kids, grilling wild deer & wild hog sausage while drinking some coldies! Oh I cant wait and sure will be glad it will help take my kids mind off of loosing the pawpaw. We have been needing a good time like this for a while, I cant wait!

Check this out, my guy did a little magic on this pic for me! Pls tell me how bad ass these Cocobolo 14mm Ascent stems look with the wood grain unit.

Thanks again you all for all the posts, you all continue to show me love and bless me with your kind words, I am very grateful to you all!

Ed,

Just a quick post so I can express just how lucky I believe this forum is to have someone with your skills and talent.

I was sorry to read of your dad's passing. Being afflicted with a life-limiting illness has pushed me into forming new friendships with others also facing the same disease. Some of them have passed on, only to be replaced by new friends suddenly finding out about their own diagnoses and looking for answers.

Thanks for being such a valuable member of the FC community.

What we leave behind is not what is engraved in stone monuments, but what is woven into the lives of others.
