Good morning everyone, hope you all had a great Thanksgiving with your family and friends, wow our turkey was awesome with all the fixings. I learned something, not a whole lot of people do giblet gravy anymore, idk why, I so dig gravy over my dressing and I feel its a table staple, not one for cranberry sauce but gravy is a must! Ahh there is always Christmas so maybe I will get lucky then and have some. Wow had a great few days with my boys and my girl, went and spent the holiday with her family and met a bunch of them, all cool people, very welcoming and fun to be around. Took the next day and worked in the shop some, had to wrap my girls presents before she got there to help us do the tree, I love surprises, giving and getting them, so I wanted to wrap hers ahead of time so she would have to wonder what they were after we put them under the tree. Couldnt let the boys know what I got her, my oldest is great he can keep a secret to the grave my two younger not so much, my youngests lips are so loose its just a lost cause. So I had gotten a few things and they all came in one rather large box but not that big a box. I gotta tell yall my kids are like cats, they have always been that way, they have just as much fun with the empty boxes as they do with what came in them, it was so funny, as soon as the box was empty I saw the look in my 12 year olds eyes and knew what he was thinking, he is not that bog a big a boy weight size but he is as tall as he should be, he climbed into this box that I must say again wasnt that big, curled himself up til he fit right into it, my youngest was giggling, I was grinning and not to be left out of the fun kyle had to try and wiggle his way into the box as well, lol! So Carter climbs out and kyle gets inside, carter closes him up and is looking for the tape, that was enough, I had to jump in saying no no tape. They had a blast with the box needless to say. I went to bed early that night so I could get up and get some work done in the shop that morning, I am out there a few hours coming in and out to check on them before they wake up, one time I come in and carter has one side on the box torn open has a pillow in the opposite end behind his back playing the playstation like a recliner, those boys are so funny! So we got the tree up later that day, gotta say I think its the most beautiful I have seen, its not that extravagant but has really cool red and silver ornaments and I let kyle pick out the star, I lifted him up and let him place it, what a great time we had! Later me and my girl wrapped their present and placed it under the tree, I got them a PS4 and a few games as well, have a few other things coming and still have almost a month to add to the pile. I tell them to come look at their gift, my oldest is too smart for his own good, he guessed it but I told him, heck no I cant afford that, they were like what is it then, I told them its a zombie apocalypse bug out kit, full of all kinds of safety stuff they would need, MRE's, zombie bullets and clean underware. Connor says what do we need clean underware for, I said what do you think you are going to do when you have your first zombie surprise it and starts chasing you, bet youll want some clean undies then, they all got a laugh out of that. We spent the afternoon doing some shooting, nothing like holidays, eating with family, putting up the tree and of course firing some rounds! Got the pistols out, did some close range shooting, shot a couple times with the rifle, got the skeet thrower out and loaded it full of clay pigeons. I know after
@Reflections post I hadnt posted shots of Major in a while and some of you may not know about him, anyhow Major was on seen as usual ready to retrieve, I got him down where we were shooting from, had one of the boys at the thrower letting them fly, the ones we missed Major was all over, he was giving it hell retrieving, he doesnt hard mouth anything usually when doing so, the skeet would land in a rather soft area of the grass and he was bringing them back every time unbroken ready to re throw. His Bday is the 13th next month, he will be a year old and is already 100lbs, they say that dogs will continue to grow the first 18 to 24 months so I think he may add several more pounds. I feel like most parents, nobody's kids look as good as mine and no one has a better dog than me!
