Picked up a Nano back in Nov 2019, with both power cable options. In my case, both power cables, the standard and the wood box have cords that are as stiff as fully cooked spaghetti noodles pulled out of a hot pot, Ive experienced virtually NO stiffness......whatsoever......even in pretty cold temps. I also disagree with it being prone to being knocked over, if you are flailing your hand all around, maybe, but not during any reasonable usage I could imagine. As further proof, I hooked up the regular cable, placed the Nano at the end of my counter in my kitchen and hung the entire weight of the cable and dimmer off the end and the Nano didn't even shrug, picked up the dimmer a few inches and left go, still nothing, it took me raising and dropping the entire weight of the cable plus the dimmer over a full foot before the Nano danced, and even then did not fall over. So im not sure what youre doing thats giving yours that issue.
While I will partially agree with you that the plug could be set into the unit better, I dont see anything even close to what you are describing with stiff cables. I can't even imagine how many power cables I have in my house at the moment but I wouldn't hesitate for 1 second to present either Nano power cable as the most flexible power cable (for the size) that I have. I could perhaps post a video of it flopping all over in my hand but Im thinking maybe you just received a cable from a stiff batch maybe, or, even more possible as I believe some others have mentioned, they could have indeed already updated the material since you received your unit. I could also post the data stamped onto the cables if that would be benefit to anyone. I think this also covers the "torquing issue" because I can sit here and spin and twist both cables, several times over with the Nano just sitting there and there is barely any appreciable pressure on the plug end into the unit itself. If this was indeed a stiff cable, and it would need to be down right hard, I could see this maybe being an issue over time. With these cables I received, I cannot see it being an issue even over a lengthy service life.
IMO the biggest thing that needs an upgrade would be the dimmer itself, we do not need such a large range, instead of 1-10 how about enlarging 4-8 as thats where id suspect 95% of users stay within, this way we would have much finer control and adjusting everything would be quite a bit easier.
After everything Ive gone though putting them (both cables) through some paces, I suspect they already have updated the cables and you have yet to try one.
Not arguing with you, just firmly disagreeing due to my experiences being so far and gone from your own.
