The original intent of the Switch1 was to give the user the option of using either concentrates or flower in the device. However, real-world use shows that the Switch1 sucks for vaping flower. IMO, you need convection when vaping flower, not conduction.
In the blitz surrounding the announcement of the Switch2, I have not seen anything about how the new device works with flower.

He mentioned it works but is not advertised. The quartz is big enough to do it in the 2. It works in the one but there is a leaning curve. Induction heating in the devices is unmatched for concentrates. Just in my opinion.

Didn’t work for me either on Puffco site. However, it DID work on Vape-Smart!
I have a question for the OP.
Why design the joystick with a hole in the top of it when 99% of people using a joystick put their finger on top of the joystick to move it in circular motions?
Seems counterintuitive to good air flow during your sesh.
I like that it is magnetic instead of cheap silicon tether, but that air hole on the top seems a bit wonky.

I like the idea behind the design. Induction heating compared with replicable glass insert should give pleasant experience and easy to maintain in clean. I like that approach much more, than ceramic chambers used in most of the e-rigs. Also really appreciate how much customisation you could put into your session. I've been asking some manufactures about custom heating curves, but nobody wanted to talk about that potential feature.
Also would like to see cap with air vortex, like in Core 2.0 for example. With addition of terp ball I see it now as my favourite way to consume concentrates. One hand, with joystick you have to use both and will get less constant experience/evaporation in my opinion.

Hopefully, they will add SiC, ruby, etc as options in the future for very easy maintenance and a bit different vapor taste/profile.

OK, I had it in my cart... I always get nervous when customs gets involved from US to Canada... bit of a crap shoot when it comes to duty, brokerage fees and taxes ... really takes all the fun out of getting a new vape.
We already plan on pushing an update down the line that will allow full control over the heating curves. In the meantime I'm loving descent mode i generally have mine dialed in on 480 to start on a 50 second hold time and ends at around 425 ish. Last hit tastes just as good if not better than the first hit and nice easy clean. Also enjoying starting at around 400 on ascent and ramping that up and ending at around 460 for a more cold start approach. Also looks like people are already in the process of designing some caps/glass for it so that should be exciting to see.

But in all seriousness we actually designed this to look like a home appliance, to fit on the countertop next to your keurigs or your ps5/xbox.. It's meant to be a countertop device for your home, why not blend in and take some of that stigma away. Also at the end of the day this unit is strictly about performance. We could have made the aesthetics what everyone was used to but then we would have limited ourselves on the functionality. We are using handblown glass instead of the new industry standard of (checks notes) metal? Which everyone seems super ok with all of the sudden, The airflow we found after testing both styles was much better and more consistent with the top airflow. The knurling adds a space where you can easily pinch from the outside using your thumb and index finger. Also a feature that seems to be overlooked is the magnetic cap also serves a function. You can flick that or lift that up at any point in your hit to actually clear your Switch like you would a bong. I find myself clearing multiple times during the hit which to me is much more satisfying than the standard suck until theres nothing left that's standard in the erig game.

That's because of the military precision possible with stainless, ti, etc. vs boro which has a tolerance of approximately .5mm. And as you know, size matters incredibly when it comes to airflow. Also doesn't break, can use after market airflow inserts, etc.
Since there is ambient air flowing through it, do you think you could tell the difference in a blind test?
You’re right the flavor wouldn’t be noticeable most likely, we actually tested out some 304 stainless and decided we didn’t want to put that near the induction field. On top of trying to keep as close to a standard rig setup as possible we decided on glass.

I'm pretty stoked on this one. I had the Switch and it constantly overheated and shutdown on me, and the oil would boil over and make contact with the metal induction cup and had bad flavours because of it. Between that, its size, and the confusion of so many different temps/button light combos, I quickly moved on from it. This Switch 2 looks like it might address all of those issues, and so many things seem to blow away my puffco 3dxl, especially the ability to get it FULLY CLEAN. There is no reclaim getting trapped under the silicone or in the atty. And a sapphire cup?? Yes please!! Ruby and gemstones are so underrated imo... i'd rather dab off that surface than use any kind of quartz banger, slurper, etc. VAS ignite!!!

The SWITCH2’s battery is designed to hold up well—expect around 80% capacity after 300 full charge cycles. DRD currently has no plans to offer battery replacements for the SWITCH2, which is pretty standard for most electronics. The built-in battery helps make the device sleeker and more reliable, plus it avoids issues with battery connections or third-party batteries.
