really the only diffrence between that and my castle quartz universal domeless is that the upper marina on mine is much larger so as to support it in a 14mm female joint.

and the price tag is 1/3. id go with that one if your looking for a castle. if the one u get is like that photo itll be nice. super easy to heat. you just hit the center of the flower. like the lotus vape. using mine right now matter of fact.

They do look pretty good. The castle one is good too, but maybe not as good for capping?

Huh, I didn't realize that was an "unground" joint. Cool. So what makes it better? It's less likely to get stuck? I like my current nail (direct inject style?) because it just slides right in, nothing to get stuck. Also, it doesn't raise the nail much above the joint. I like it as low as possible.

you need a bell shaped carb cap for a castle, like the solo aroma bowl works ok. they just wont work with a marble style carb cap. @Caligula has a carb cap dabber that would work great with a castle nail

Or you mean it just fits over the nail head, like a hood? I found a Solo aroma bowl, but it was $18.....
I thought a marble was used to cap a dome?

@pigfoot like this. the only real improvement on this would be a dabber on the opposite end and a hole on the top or side so air doesnt have to pass by the nail twice. its lifted up to show the nail. typically when in use I drop it all tge way on. but that plus a dabber is not ideal for hands of only two.

Could someone explain why a un-ground joint is preferable?
What are the benefits over a standard ground joint?

Will do. My ebay domeless nails have been great to me. $20 shipped for 3 domeless nails. One for hiking, one for home sometimes, and one given away. I'm yet to break one.

The idea of spending $80+ on a quartz nail is nuts to me personally.

I've got Titanium, Ceramic and Quartz nails. The Quartz banger is my favorite. Like Caligula described, it stays cool enough to heat while holding, or you can carb it by lifting after the dab. Taste seems very similar to other quartz nails, the design is just easier to heat and use.

Gotta say I love my domeless quartz nail I got Aqua Lab Technologies.
Why go with quartz ?
For all the reasons of the last post, and, while my friends' glass nails break and melt and need replacing, I still use my originally purchased domeless quartz .... well worth the money in my opinion.
See which one I got here.
Very happy with it, had it for .. oh.. 8 months or so ?

yeah! i totally am, bc i know thatd obv help a good amount im guessing, or SHOULD. i swear its w this type, i having NOO luck AT ALL! puddle EVEYTIME, EVEN if i SCORTCH it and it tastes burnt, it STILL puddles... lol isnt that weird?! def making mw HATE Daisy style. i LOVE my banger. and reg domeless quartz w male or female joints. those and my new vape Ti domless nail are my favorite my FAR!

I have that very nail, and while it's not my fave (the banger from green buddah is),
it works fine. Never had a burnt hit or a puddle. I know some folks say to heat the "dish"
part, but I mostly heat the outside. It does lose heat quicker than other nails, but has no
problem delivering one dab at a time. Sorry, I don't have any tips, it sounds like you are
getting it plenty hot - no idea why it would leave puddles if it's that hot.
