DOES the thing hit? the airflow looks like its not hitting the coil? hows the vapor production? we are all interested..

Finally got home and tried out the hole-less black version. It seems to work (essentially) the same as the white version with the standard hole-in-the-center heater. Easy direct lung hit; mouth to lung is not necessary. I'm the opposite of a cloud chaser though. I generally strive for the lowest temp - lowest cloud production - long hit so I may not be the best person to test cloud production. I can make myself cough big time with either...

It appears to have the same heating element embedded in the ceramic; when set to glow I get the same two semi-circles spread around the outside with dark spots where the leads connect underneath. The cold resistance on this one is a tiny bit lower than the white ones, at 0.58Ω. I don't know if that is just sample variation or due to the slightly different ceramic disk. I have a couple more on order from China, but they're not due for a few weeks. Oh, and all the ones from China are short bowl.

Sorry folks, going to be that guy right now. I am feeling too lazy to go back a few pages...

Is the 2.7 any better than the 2.5, in any way?

Same experience, .59-.60 resistance with the black full disc one's when fired cold. Pictures had me duped thinking maybe they were long chamber, as I really don't care for the short ones at all (donut or disc-- just a preference really). I wasn't too fond of how the black paint/whatever looked on the inside of the mouthpiece.. it just left me a bit wondering what glaze/covering was used to produce the black appearance. That might just be my hypochondriac side crying out a bit and it probably differs hardly at all from the normal white ones. However, you know what they say about assuming.

Only the mouthpiece is different, not the base atomizer..from what I gathered...if you're fine with the current, just wait until 3.0 / rebuildable.

Hola FC:
Finally after 20 days of waiting from China I got my Joyetech eVic-VTC Mini upgradable to 75W.
My DT atty arrived a long time ago. Waiting was painful. Lots of grams of oil.
Now I'm clueless about how to handle this thing, so many controls.
I'll need to read again all the cool advices of @OF
Always thankful for all the good guidance.
Stay vamped my friends...

How should I start???
From the 4 Sony tvc4 or something , all came with half charge.
Should I even try it or wait to charge in the box mod?

You're welcome, glad you find it useful. That was, of course, the idea. In a nutshell I recommend using a custom 'M' value of 245 or so and then 'dial up' 390F as a target temperature (whatever that is in metric if you're in C country). Set the power level for new bases at 12.0 Watts, cautiously move it up a Watt or two after the base ages.

Don't load too much, everything over the doughnut isn't making vapor only trying to leak out. That's a solid battery, it should work well here, but charge it completely before first use. At the low power levels we're using batteries are not as important as when you're running 50 or 75 Watts. In fact 'overcharge' it after the normal charge ends THE FIRST TIME ONLY. After the first serious discharge (like 'just a few hits') ends any chance of maximum capacity, after the first discharge further 'forming' doesn't happen. In fact, stopping charge .1 Volt (about ten percent) will DOUBLE the useful life of the battery in cycles (charge/discharge).

Use the internal charger (USB) if you want or remove the battery and charge externally which can be faster (and if you have a backup battery you can swap and vape on....).

FWIW I was just showing it off to a friend, mighty impressive performance.

Regards and best wishes.

And in light of this, they just uploaded a new version, 3.01.

Gotta love Joyetech. Not only upgradable firmware, but a company that actually provides (useful, major) updates.

Yep, but given the changes:

Newly added Start Mode for those who are new to the CUBIS and BF heads. You can easily get started. The BF SS-316 and BF Clapton series heads can be applied under this mode.

It would seem this has nothing to offer us over 3.0?

Mostly true, but I think there may have been some slight changes to allow you to go up and down with the two little buttons once you've entered a setting, instead of having to just go up and then round robin.

Also note that for some reason (?) all my settings were reset after updating...

Thanx for settings info. Glad to know I was using normal settings for this mod. I also found that increasing power/temp is needed for aged bases. I started using 12w at 380-400F with a base at 0.72 ohms. My aged bases run around 0.80 ohms and I actually bump temp instead of Wattage. I keep the 12w and increase temp to 440F. Donut never glows. I will try to keep the temp at 400F and increase Wattage and see if I'll like it more. Thanx for the info again

I'm vaping like crazy now. Still really a lot of settings to understand in the electronics that right now don't have the time...
But @divinetribe thanks for a very good product in the atty. congrats too to all the people here supporting this good people.
Stay vaped my friends.

Damn guys, I'm starting to think about getin a VTC-Mini. My Eleaf 40w TC doesn't have wattage control and it seems like it makes a huge difference!

I've been using an atomizer since Thanksgiving and it's been fantastic. Matt rushed the shipping to get it to me on time and it made my holiday. I recently ordered a 2.7 and a Pyrex top atomizer. I love the 2.7 top, but the coil came loose in the Pyrex top model. It sucks that it happened in only a few days, but at least I have a few more to use.

Does anyone else use a Reuleaux RX200 with their 2.5 base? I'm having a hard time balancing out my watts and temperature. I just don't want to burn through a bunch of wax just experimenting.

Sadly experimenting is the way to finding the setting perfect for you. Every mod is different so hopefully someone here has your same mod. But ultimately everyone has there own priorities to vaping. Example some like low power and Temps for flavor and some like higher setting for cloud chasing. Every wax is also a bit different. Experimenting g is not so bad. Even at low Temps where I get no vapor, I still feel the effects. Play with it bro

Hola FC:
I'm a little bummed because my 2.7 DT donut is not being recognized anymore by my mod box. Don't know what happened??
Luckily I had a replacement and never stopped vaping.
Unluckily the Pyrex mouthpiece isn't as durable as it looks, because after only a couple days of use started to show some stress lines in the base and finally shattered in pieces :((
Now I'm using a 18F-14F as a mouthpiece. Not totally sealed but doing the job. ...
Stay vaped my friends...

Any info on the 3.0 release?

@divinetribe any plans on using a ceramic plate (like the Cannastick Dab Mod) or are you sticking with ceramic donuts?

Apologies if these things have been answered. I'm on my phone and it's not easy going through all the pages.

I asked Matt the very same question at the beginning of the month. He said that the v3 will not be ready for another month or 2 because of the holidays. He also mentioned before that the v3 will be using a bigger donut that will be rebuildable. As for the ceramic plates, Matt posted that he may use 2 ceramic plates in future versions

Has anybody had success with the dry herb cart? O have used it multiple times but have not found it to be very effective. I have gotten vapor, but it is a pain in the ass and the extraction is not there. Any tips or pointers would be appreciated. At this point, I have no use for this attachment.

For the dry herb cart I like to do a rough finger grind and run it at 40w like DT recommends. I use a Sigelei 75w TC mod. I don't pack super tight. First I let it heat up for about 8 seconds, then let go of the button, press again and start drawing. It has become my preferred dry vape. I have not had problems with combustion. The herb is all browned nicely. And I get lovely vapor production.

Some DT pron from today's deliveries...

For those formal occassions:
DV%20Pron_zpsgz7r7bct.jpg

(40W, NO TC, 1300mAh, tiny oled display on top, pass-thru charging; no match for the E-Vic Mini though)

Note no hole in the center of the heating disk.

(From FastTech, I haven't used it yet)
Does any firm make a small cylindrical battery the same diameter as this divine tribe(or divine tribe inspired) plate atomizer, with both variable temperature and temperature control ?

I'd love to have the ability to have something just slightly thicker than my Linx Hypnos Zero, not terribly longer, but with a larger chamber, and more precise temperature controls from 315-430

getsoutalive,
Do your enails have a passcode you need to enter before changing the pid settings? I bought my unit from http://www.pufftuff.net/ and it looks identical to yours down to the same ti nail except the logo painted on mine. The problems are the only info they gave was how to change temp. and the supplied 20mm coil is 250w, I need a flat coil for my nail and after searching online for a couple hours with nothing to show and no patience left I ordered a 150w thinking how hard could changing up settings be. When I got home and pressed the set button all I got were 4 flashing zeros that I could go through and change between 0-9 so I figured it's a code. I couldn't find contact info for puff tuff, they have a facebook and twitter but I don't. If you had a manual or something like that I could get ahold of that would be nice to have assuming they are the same. Sorry for such a long post. Thanks in advance for any help if you can give it. If not looks like I'm finally making a facebook account.
