Ah good to hear! Thank you. So you think it's rather the vapor mist and the back draft that yielded a re-condensation?

How hard is it to clean the entire atomizer pristine? I'm interested in this vape as it's the only thing I would consider bringing on a plane overseas (herb is out of the question at airports, but hiding a blob worth of dabs somewhere air-tight in my luggage could work...)

(or well I say that but usually I withdraw it at the last minute out of fear, thinking it would be so bad to screw up a work mission just because I couldn't take on me and live without my medicine for a few days...)

The quartz version is quite easy, give it a little heat up and q-tip the bowl, or dip the q-tip in ISO first for a deeper clean. If you remove the tip of the mouthpiece you could throw the body of the cap in an ISO bath as it’s all titanium. The tip has an o-ring so either a very quick ISO bath or swab with an ISO q-tip. If you treat it like a dab rig and swab it after each load, the maintenance is minimal. I swab the inside of the cap every four or five sessions.

Is that some concentrate leaking down the heater legs on that last picture?

That, my dear FuckCombustioner, is simply build-up from excessive use and low maintenance.
It is splatter coming from the interior of the cap...

I cleaned up the floor of the base a bit for the picture, but did not do a full swab-down.
Rest assured, there is no leak issue, and with the titanium cup there is absolutely no spillage when the correct amount of concentrate is used (compared with quartz).

The unit's whole life has been used with the quartz cup, I did not get a new device with the new Ti cup, simply the cup itself, without the heater even.

Quartz has a unique property where the liquid inside of it will actually run uphill away from the heat source. This causes some minor spill-over at times.

I've also found that with the Ti cap there is less splatter.

I highly recommend this, I have seen no flaws. The only flaw here is a failure to keep my equipment pristine.
Functions extremely well with no waste. You're seeing dozens of grams of build-up there !

MODS: (Yes, I double-posted :ugh:, sorry, a confusion with the web browser made it appear the replies were after my post.. and once you start a post, there's literally on way to stop it, so, here goes... MODS: Maybe you can join the two posts for me ?

How hard is it to clean the entire atomizer pristine?

Quite easy. It's an embarrassment to say how easy it really is.
I didn't take the time to nicely clean it.
Simply cleaning with 99% isopropyl alcohol and a q-tip, u can get the whole thing clean.
You can even get your ceramic spacer back to shiny white, if you really want it to be white. The performance is not altered by the color darkening whatsoever.
Do NOT torch the base or the heater. Do NOT soak the base in isopropyl. There are seals and and an insulator within the 510 pin that you don't want to damage.
I'd say it can be cleaned up well enuff to go in a suitcase, etc. Considering there's a nicely fitting cap as well, it's a non-issue I would think.

The titanium cup is also easy to clean, in fact, easier than the quartz.
This is because unlike quartz, titanium does not cause the oil to rise up the sides of the cup.
It seems to cause less splatter as well, but still in the beginning stages of testing.

Highly recommended !

I got some Cookies and Cream rosin tonight. Loaded it up in the v4, slapped on the bubbler, and I went to town. I got so much vapor and so much flavor, and it was completely cool. And then I just swabbed it out after. What a joy to use. I love the design of this thing. I’m excited to try the titanium cup version.

I agree, the only thing who keep me away to grab it on the go is the need to bring a box of Q-tip with me. Although I'm thinking to load it with a good amount and put it in the car, hit it at low temp until all is vaped and go back at home for cleaning... not really like it's intended to use and I'm afraid this is create build up impossible to clean without to mention taste will be bad after a few hits. So I'll stick with my Hercule for this purpose (or even some shitty pen vapes when I don't want to be afraid to break a precious tool) and V4 is more used at home or in the garden side by side with the Straw.
Actually my enail is a bit jealous but still use it every few days especially since I upgraded it to Sic highfive dish, love it but the V4 is so fast to do pretty the same job (but temp are a bit more finicky with the V4 if you compare with a stable pid controller).

Yes I dig the design a lot too. Just want to add I haven't any issue with oil climbing the walls of the dish, maybe I use smaller load than you, guys, though... I can't see any advantage for the Ti cup except faster heating time but it's already pretty quick with the quartz, 7-8s to achieve low temp first hit used at 32W, cold start for sure, after that a 3-4s in enough maybe more if you want bigger hits. A sic dish would be a better idea imo cause i was very surprised how smoother are the hits when I switched from quartz to sic with my enail... but, all in all, hits are already very, very smooth with the V4 quartz crucible!!!

Well, you need to be careful q-tipping on the V4. I broke the ceramic heater at the contacts/threads near the disc while wiping the quartz crucible. Now my v4 is down for the count. Last week, my paranormal decided to do a battery door ejection/bunny hop (battery door wasn't secured enough) and broke my first crucible. Anyone done that before lol.

My posts always came loose and constantly needed re-tightening after each session. Time to order some more heaters. Damn, I'm gonna miss it. Back to the enail for now.

I used a screw driver with a little more bite and leverage to tighten down my posts (on the one that was a little loose). Neither has moved since.

LOVING my titanium cup!

It's much easier to swab clean, heats up faster, cools down faster, and is less fragile !

According to Matt, y'all will see these titanium cups available in 1-2 months !

Click here to see my review of the titanium cup !

That's an image of my Ti cup, with the bad o-ring.

Speaking of the bad o-rings, Matt has informed me that the original o-rings for the V4 were slightly too large on his first units, and so my o-ring began bunching up and stretching out.

However, Matt has since acquired the correct size o-rings, and they'll be included with every order. For extra o-rings, leave a comment in the comment section of the order, saying u want spares.

For those of us with the over-sized o-rings, Matt can send you four new o-rings for the shipping cost of $3.

A good deal, considering online shops want a minimum order (usually 10-20) at over $1 each, and charge an arm and a leg for shipping.

Still loving my V4, almost 2 months in !  :leaf:

I’m excited for the Ti cup. I want it in my hands already!

My O-rings could use replacing but I can wait until I place an order for the Ti cup to get them.

I used q tips in my V4 for a while. But they would often start to smoke at not so high temperature. Plus they push at only one point in the outer edge of the cup while going around cleaning the sides. So if it's also hot that means one might, in one cleaning, be stressing all the hot/soft connections several times. Maybe messing up or loosening the stuff up or breaking the glass stem.

Maybe just use a piece of paper towel. Tear off a small piece like 4x4 inches. Then roll it or wad it thinly and push it to the bottom of the cup and just rotate it while applying enough downward pressure so you get in the corners.
You can then just tear off the end of the wad with the waste and use the same paper till the end.
Of course you want to do it when it's hot. For me it works perfect. Don't even need burn-offs.
No stress on the cup.

The V4 is a really nice atty from Matt the Innovator.
And the mouthpiece is very nicely designed especially with a glass drip tip.

The Ti cup is just that, a ti cup, for you to exchange with the quartz.
It's not a whole new unit, unless you want to buy another one.
The new one will come with the new o-rings, and probably a pack of 4 new ones.
Be sure to mention in the order comments that you want 4 spare o-rings.
I just got the cup itself and replaced the quartz with it.
If you wanted to easily switch back and forth, then yeah, get another unit I guess !
I personally wouldn't wait for the ti cups to come in before ordering my o-rings. If they're on the way out, you will get a bit of a hassle once they fail.
If it were me, I'd order 4 of 'em for $3 and get them in 2-3 days, instead of waiting a month for the ti cups to come in.
All the best !

P.S.:
I just burnt out my 1st heater, in 2 months of very heavy use. Not bad ! Especially when you can get 4 heaters for $15 !

Does anybody have a caliper on hand? I need to know the exact diameter of Quartz Quest replacement coils. I'd also like to know the distance between the leads? As in how far should the positive and negative screw posts be from each other, you know? I'm trying to design something around these coils. Thanks for any help guys.

I was cleaning my banger and Ruby insert yesterday, so I powered through the day with my Divine Tribes Quartz Quest v4 base and heater paired along with my @710Coils SiC insert, @510MOD bottomless banger and topped off with a @quartz pi Peacock Bubble Cap.

I gotta say, it's hard to plug back in when you got options like this!

So did you just remove the cup and sit the insert on top of the donut coil?

13mm outside diameter. The posts are about 10 or 11mm apart.

Yep and it heats consistently. TC works pretty good but you have to dial it in. Takes longer to heat up than the regular cup but its worth it in my usage. Its just like using an insert in your banger...but faster and portable.

Well that is absolutely delightful!

What size is that bottomless banger? 25mm?

Just ordered my V4 and I see that they sell to crucible in 3s. Silly question... I’m wondering why anyone would need 3 ti crucibles. Ti isn’t likely to break.

Recently purchased mine, too, waiting for it in the mail. Oh wow they sell Ti crucibles? Dooope.

Just got my V4 in the mail. When I first set it up I set the resistance incorrectly and got really wispy hits. It was super disappointing. I cranked the temps WAY up and got decent hits. Let unit sit. Turned back on. Unit asked if this was a new coil. I said, "Why yes," and adjusted resistance. Turned temps down to... sane. Very nice. So easy to clean with Qtip after every sesh. Potent rips that rival direct coil loaded designs which is what I want. I'm impressed. Can't wait to get the vapor cooler. Vapor cooler is not needed whatsoever, but I want glass so I can see the milky vapor so I know when to stop ripping. Personal pref. Can gauge by other means.

The quartz quest has been redesigned! You can now take it apart to clean without compromising the heater wires. New design allows for the wires to be straight and shorter which gives lower resistance (ohm Ω). Everything but the base is the same size and can be used still. Prototype testing now!
