Anyone on this thread, please do not hesitate to reach out to me, send me a PM or whatever. My goal is to make sure that you guys are all taken care

Oh- also I found some of the steam stones at the trade show this week. I've commenced testing them in the upper chamber and will post some results. The dude gave me Eucalyptus flavor...ick, but supposed to be good for your lungs.

I've finally got a good setup for oils and concentrates. Back to my original post, I use some pretty gooey concentrates in the DaVinci.

OF has a great method of using the volcano liquid pads (wire pad) and putting them into the oil cans to catch the thick liquid. Unforunately, I had to order the pads and they're hard to find where I am. If you have access to these wire pads they will work so go with this method.

If you don't have easy access to the wire pads like me, then you can take a few of the extra screen filters that came with the DaVinci and just fold/fill one of the oil cans and create your own wire pad. It'll catch the oil and keep it from leaking into the rest of the unit.

DO NOT use the cotton with gooey concentrates. The cotton doesn't heat up like the metal can/wire does which transfers the heat to the oils. It just doesn't get hot enough and the cotton blocks air flow through the can which is pretty essential for it to work.

I find I need to use fairly high heat around 390-395 for a short while, allow the device and can/wire to heat up, then you can turn it down a little. Basically everything just needs to get hot enough.

That's about it. The Davinci does work great with concentrates, you just need to tweak it a little to get it going.

Have you tried cutting down the screens so they fit into the oil cans? Seems like it would be more effective if they were cut to size and put in rather than folding.

Also, others have reported that you do need to crank it up near 400 for the first minute or so. No surprise there. Glad you got it working how you like it!

The smaller screens fit in nice and I used those to line he bottom. I wanted a really wirey can to catch as much of the liquid as possible as it was melting. It definitely needs to get fairly hot before it starts working. Using the large screens I lined them up then just pressed them in creating a bowl effect. After all that it works pretty well. I ordered the actual volcano screens online so we'll see if those work better.

My only main suggestion is to NOT use the cotton. It's meant for oils and extracts with lower boiling temperatures. I wasted a lot of concentrate testing different fillings for the can.

So i have had this little device for over a week now and it's one of the best things i have owned wish i got it ages ago.

I take this thing all over the place because it's so easy to take a few hits empty and load from the hidden stash pocket on the move.

What's great is how you only need a little bud to get a few hits and feel it. Very happy with this great bit of tech gone are the days of carrying around a box of cigs, papers, lighter,

Will pay for it's self in 3 months due to the money saved on tobacco.

Btw i have around 15 grams of vaped mata and would like to do something with it but not really sure were to look or start any help ?

Cheers

I think the hidden storage compartment is one of the best things on the DV.

Check the cooking with Cannabis threads. You can cook with AVB, or hell, you can even eat it straight. Cheers my friend! And welcome to the forum.

hi guys,
I have 2 of these davinci portables. they both do not work anymore. the company is sending me a better product but i was curious if anyone knew how to fix it, cause then i would have 2 still and they will still send me the other ;P the problem is that when i turn it on the display comes up but theres nothing there, its just blue and i cant change the temp or heat the device. i took it apart too see if there was anything wrong internally but i cant see anything and dont know enough about electronics to try to tinker with it myself. if anyone has any help that would be awesome as i love this device and fixing with would be awesome.
thanks

Conner, the issue that you have occurring is a bad chip that is causing the display to go out. There is really no fix, you just need to exchange it. Why don't you exchange both..surely the warranties are both good, right?

I'm really on the fence about purchasing this vape. My main concern is power and smell. I tried my brother's SSV and I really liked the vape from that but I know it's a desktop vape being compared to a handheld vape. How would you guy's rate the battery life and smell? thanks!

Welcome to the DV thread
Congratulations on a really good purchase. There are tons of tips and tricks on the prior pages. I know it is a lot to read through , but it is worth reading it all.
Along with some on the manufacture's website. http://www.davincivaporizer.com/how-to-guide/

The newest upgraded models have a 1 hr 40 minute projected battery life. So it has been drastically improved from the previous model (40~50+/- minutes). And you still have the option to use it while it is plugged in and charging. The smell I feel is minimal. There are a few posts back some pages covering techniques to possibly cover/mask what scent is emitted. It is such a versatile vaporizer and fits perfectly for my needs. I don't think it would disappoint. Not only that, but I would recommend it just for the team behind it. They are really great and care about there customers. Unlike a few others out there.

Thanks for the insight! I'm almost all for this now but I'm kind of scared of the taste people are saying they're experiencing and also the "off-gassing" problem? Was this a flaw in the older models that they've perfected now? I really don't want to wait for the Ascent and I can already see it being out of my budget...

Space is the Place
Ive Had two Davinci's one when they first came out ,one as an x-mas gift, never noticed any off gassing
Didn't really check out the first gifted it to someone that still uses it daily. Checked the X-Mas gift cranked it up first time to 400f no off gassing . tasted a little off for a bowl or two like a new oven smells
after that it was great , but I Had a display problem , theyer replacing it now great service .
A FINE VAPE.

Leaf if you can't find it just click on any of the dv posts and look at all the ones they did from the most recent backwards. They don't make a lot so it should be easy to find.

I found it. It seems pretty legit. I'm glad that it wasn't anything toxic and just the organic coating. I see an open boxed Davinci on ebay for $100 that I'm tempted to buy. It looks legit. Any tips on making sure it's an up to date legit one?

No clue...I am not an ebay buyer for things that may need a warranty or any type of electronics. I believe DV said they would warranty it but check with them first is my opinion. My DV is soooooooo old I don't even have a serial number.

I would buy directly from the manufacture Or check the list of retailers here to insure you get the best service/product for your money, and to avoid issues down the road. Just my :2c:
I'm looking at the one on ebay for $100 sold by chantthe*** Just my opinion I'd pass. With a difference of only $99 to get it directly from the manufacture. No questions you'd get the newest version with a full warranty, free accessory pack and free shipping.
edit: I was also thinking you could ask for permission to post a wanted to buy in the classified and buy from a member here.

$160 from PV and PIU not even that much more for piece of mind. A bunch here have gotten off of ebay and not issue but we all have different risk levels and I am not interested in that kind of stress.

I appreciate you guys helping me out. I found a guy on eBay that's actually an authorized distributor and is selling them for $135. He has great feedback too and has been around for a while so I feel like that's my safest, cheapest bet. I'm so excited to have my own vape haha.

Congratulations on the great find. I think you will be happy with your purchase. The only other thing I wanted to say is about registering it. I had a bit of trouble at first locating the registration link on there page.
It is at the bottom of the page on the right side second bullet point
