I haven't used my MFLB since i got the Iolite, which has been replaced in the last week by the DaVinciThanks for that VaporsVaporizer,
Do you still use your MFLB a lot or has the DaVinci won its spot?
I had a chance to compare 2 units side by side. Opening the storage bin on mine required a lot of effort (used needle nose pliers). The other I could open with my fingers. For loading though, I really like these little anodized aluminum containers-just the right size. I've posted a link previously, but for latecomers - http://www1.buyincoins.com/details/...e-holder-container-keychain-product-1923.htmlIt can be tricky getting a firm grip on the "handle" to open the storage area.
The straw should last quite a while, but I agree that $15 is more than I'd like to pay for a stem that'll eventually need replacement.Pappy said:Really impressed by the effort and thought that went into the design of this vape. I am concerned that the woven material covering the silicone is hiding particulate buildup in the straw. The silicone part will require continual replacement as does every other whip vape. I'd suggest a more affordable replacement part without the mesh cover so users have a clear view of the air path.
very close to going for it.
anybody in LA have it? would you be down for a demo session?
Lance are there any cupon codes for FC at the time?
Does anyone know of any FC cupon codes for the davinci anywhere ? (must be from one of the relailers where warrenty is valid)
And yeah , now i know about free shipping and gifts .... Damn its hurtful ;(
I could write him a long, detailed email as to why he's clueless, including all my credentials, but even if I gave him reason to rethink his review, he'd never acknowledge it. That would mean admitting that he's not as brilliant as he pretends to be, and 'image' is what's important.Anyone want to come to our defense and educate this guy? ;-)
I've never had an iolite failure either, going back to '08 when it was introduced, but I much prefer this one for the way I use a portable. If you like to really 'load up' that big iolite bowl (and deal with the ABV taste that involves), the DV may not be for you, but my portable sessions don't go on and on, and I don't find reloading this model much of a chore anyway.Pharoh said:..I DO love my Iolite...never done me wrong...absolutely no grief...it was a difficult decision to buy the DaVinci...when the Iolite was delivering in flying colors...
It's a worthless review because he obviously has no knowledge of current vaporizer technology and the competition. The review was just terrible. It reads like... I have to write this because I got a free product.
The vapor isn't wispy once the bowl gets heated up. I've been using this model for almost 4 years. If you think it's wispy for a fixed temp portable, you're welcome to your opinion, but I'd have to disagree. As for taste, it only gets bad near the end of the bowl, or if you load it up. It's ABV taste, not iolite taste.Personally, I hate the ioLite. I got mine back in 2009. It still works BUT I hate almost everything about it. It is loud, the butane is gross, the vapor is wispy, and taste bad. The newer generation of portables pretty much wipe the floor with the ioLite.
And which battery powered vape would wipe the floor with it on a extended camping trip where you have no AC to recharge? Gonna take a whole box of batteries with you? A big can of butane comes in pretty handy in that situation. The iolite and wispr have a place in the market, and IMO that'll be the case for years to come. Sounds like I'd disagree with your iolite review as much as I disagree with this bozo's review of the DV on gizmodo. The newer generation of portables pretty much wipe the floor with the ioLite.
I sent this person an email and told him that his battery criticism alone ("the battery life is shit (3 hours max per charge") made it clear that he knew nothing about the vape market or current battery technology, and that he should stick to reviewing products that he actually understood. That was as derogatory as I got, yet his only response was "Wow. You are a major league asshole". Responding to legitimate criticism with nothing but name calling pretty much says it all about Mr. Gizmodo, and confims my previous statement about him- "even if I gave him reason to rethink his review, he'd never acknowledge it."Davinci_vaporizer said:Anyone want to come to our defense and educate this guy? ;-)
Good. It's fine to include personal preference in a review, but it should labeled as such, and not influence the whole review.Slightly Medicated said:I try and write a review from several perspectives.
So far I have been very pleased with the DaVinci. I feel like it works very well. I have a few design ideas that would improve a couple of the issues. The fact that you don't have a straight shot to the bowl is annoying. The biggest concern I have is keeping the unit clean in the long run. I am cleaning mine with ISO every 3rd session to try and keep it proactively clean. If you had a straight shot to the bowl chamber I would not have that issue as much.
