It's awesome! Really good for me particularly with this one strain that usually makes me cough a lot, even with a Stereo Matrix, didn't get as much of the taste but that doesn't bother me, really liked the smoothness, definitely going to be my go-to for at least this particular strainGrats! Let us know what you think.
Yeah, gotta wait for the Bates & Worm (returned for a cleaner one) but the DG is great, not sure if I'll use it for dabs, it seems to me cleaning would be a pain, especially when I'll have the Bates & Worm soon and have a couple Mobius pieces that clean quickly with Grunge Off.Ahah I'm happy you asked what was best between Bates & Worm diff pump and a DG and finally got both!!!
You see, as we discussed in MP: the DG is the smoothest hit with less flavor, but the B&W is really a good equilibrium between both (smooth & flavorful)!
I am working on this and have a viable solution that is still in testing. Patience my FC friendsit seems to me cleaning would be a pain
acqulabs has them.anyone know where i can get a 24/5mm male to 18mm female reducer? didn't quite get system down (am more visual) and i ordered the female to female adapter and little fritts for my 18" tube. problem being that i now have an open 24/5mm female hole w/ no 24/5mm male slide or adapter for an 18mm slide. any suggestions?
i know pv lists them, but haven't ever seen 'em in stock. pm'd them. any other ideas?
tia
thanks, but i bought one of those, that's my prob. the non-convertible DG has an 18 mm DI male joint, so when i add that piece and a small fritt i am left w/ a 24/5mm female joint w/ nothing to fit in it. am thinking of just sending them both back and just goin' w/McFinn's carbon filter instead.
Maybe just an extra long soak with Grunge Off?I am working on this and have a viable solution that is still in testing. Patience my FC friends
thanks, man. i actually got a great response back from PV. they are gonna have my adapter for me in a week. same time the volcano adapters come (half the price of the illadelph). yea, i was gonna use it to to burn (shhhh, don't tell anyone). honestly i should just return them and go for the mcfinn's, but i'll just end up getting both. just want to keep particulate out of the piece. thanks for offering to trim those down for me tho! out of curiousity, how would you go about doing that?Bob, I can cut down some pre-frits 18mm for you. Then just get a 18/18mm F adaptor.
Btw, you want it for combustion??
If you want to go the liquid chemical route there are many alternatives. I experimented with a homemade version of GO that was ok. Simple Green comes to mind as very effective and ISO for that matter. But liquid chemicals can be expensive, bulky to store and transport, and environmentally unsound. Also, any cleaning system that utilizes "shaking" as a method of putting energy into the cleaning process, is going to get a thumbs down from me. The "shake & break" method is probably responsible for more broken glass than anything, imo, and my arthritis will not allow it.Maybe just an extra long soak with Grunge Off?
You are correct, ISO is a great solution. But, its expensive, you dump it down the sink, its bulky to store and transport, its flammable with harsh vapors, it doesn't get rid of hard water stains, and although is a solvent for resin, it doesn't really disassociate or "clean" any other tough stains or "soil"s that we might encounter in our travels. So I search for something different. ISO will always have a place in my lab, its just the research chemists in the cleaning industry have come up with some really interesting options for us these days. With my DG's I just use ISO and when I fill it I just blow throw the male joint so I can run it threw the fritt. Cleans it might nice, although I don't combust through mine and I barely dab so it really doesn't get that dirty in the first place.
yea, i have a distillation/reclaim setup that lets me re-use my ISO, but ur right, more is needed for complete clean. good start for first rinses, thoYou are correct, ISO is a great solution. I don't judge, and I won't tell, I had to try it once with the 16" and it was rough on me..thanks, man. i actually got a great response back from PV. they are gonna have my adapter for me in a week. same time the volcano adapters come (half the price of the illadelph). yea, i was gonna use it to to burn (shhhh, don't tell anyone). honestly i should just return them and go for the mcfinn's, but i'll just end up getting both. just want to keep particulate out of the piece. thanks for offering to trim those down for me tho! out of curiousity, how would you go about doing that?
I don't dump my ISO down the sink? I usually pour it into a dish for reclaim later. Because back when I did dabs it would get dirty quick and I wanted to save what I could. You are correct, ISO is a great solution. Try your local Home Brew/Wine supply store. A plethora of fantastic items awaits you thereT-dub. Great idea with the glass flushing! I need to get a bunch of stoppers.. Any common brick and morter stores carry them?
I want one of these dg's I just cant justify spending that much on a single chamber tube with minimal work they look like they stack alot but i wish they werent so much money
