WOW, that’s the best review for dabpresses I’ve seen yet! And you’ve only set it up? Not even used it and yet you’ve named it your higher power. That’s HIGH praise indeed
@Alexis !
From what I have seen from all your material images and what this press can do, I don’t think you need to hope (secretly or publicly) for 15% yields. I think you’re wise to be conservative in your expectations but feel sure you’re going to be very happy with the results especially when you have the whole squishing experience dialled in. Hope you feel better soon dude!
Been watching the news and hoping the best for Roger and his peeps, and all their loved ones!
Haha, yes I just corrected that divine little mis-spell! But to clarify, by "product" I meant the herb, I cant comment on the Dabpress yet (although hypocrytically I have been recommending them far and wide ever since discovering this thread).
I already knew full well how good Roger's products are before even buying my still unused press.
Regarding yields- the Autoflowers are generally more leafy than regulars. Even more so for being Outdoors and even more so in our case due to the fact we cannot use any proper fertilizer.
And you can see from those close-ups that the sugar leaves don't really need to be trimmed off as they are so thick with trichomes but still will be higher in plant material weight as well compared to the tighter buds when it comes to percentage Returns.
So in this sense the lower percentage reported for auto flowers is a bit illusory. So 15% is actually very acceptable as a standard for material much higher in Leaf. No reason to doubt the quality of the rosin though, as
@psychonaut has reported numerous times.
I have bought the Oil Slick Paper for pressing with after one friend here and rosineer told me:
"My personal fave paper is the oil slick pad's Slick Paper (silicon release paper). I've tried loads of options, loads of papers, a few PTFE brands, and the slick paper is my fave, nothing sticks to it.
To each their own tho, I know others who massively prefer the PTFE."
And:
"RAW parchment is brown, thats what I started with, it wasnt very strong tho. Natural parchment is brown by default I think?
Also, bags for squishing... not essential at all, but useful for keeping things contained. If its just for yourself tho, Im not sure I'd bother.
Oh yeah, foil backed stuff. I loved this for squishing with hair straighteners but in a press I found it wasnt strong enough, and the foil separated from the paper. I didnt like the papers surface after a few tons of pressure either, same with brown parchment, but I'm running 20 tons here so your mileage may vary."
I have brown unbleached, silicone coated "If You Care" paper as well. So I will try different approaches, but to begin will be smaller presses to start, no bag with the slick paper.
Final word on climate change- if it means high strength outdoor UK cannabis is the norm, BRING IT ON!
