For the DIY rosin press builder, harbor freight is having a sale on their 20-ton floor standing shop press for $140. There is also a 20% off super coupon, can't combine but can put towards a lower tonnage press that's not on sale if you wanna build a smaller press like 12-ton with dp-rp35s.

Paired with dp-rp37 caged cube kit (on sale now for $345 on Amazon) you'll have a 20-ton rosin press for under $500.

Absolutely. My press uses a BVA jack and that data was inthe manual for it

The hydraulic jack OEM details aren't specified on the jack or in the documentation so we have to wait for the details from @dabpress.com.

Have done a bubble hash press from fresh frozen. Yield was predictably superb, and quality excellent. I did press it a bit wet to be honest and so ended up a bit sappier than I would like. Pressed paperless.

Also have run a few with flower using the 2x4 and 30mm cylinder press. Devil Cookies and Black Cherry Punch. Both yields were excellent. Cylinder press flows better and makes less mess with slightly better yield. Still personally prefer bagless.

Mess and losses are lower with bare plates and this is now the only way I will use it. Superb!

I'm really curious how you are scraping the rosin that's stuck on the plates?

I'm only pressing about 3.5g at a time and my first run didn't drip at all so if I were bag/filter-less and plates only I'd need some method to retrieve the rosin off the plates.

I'm probably going to stick with the bags/filters for now but I'm always up for ideas that reduce the need to use non-reusable plastics.

I was thinging maybe some sort of squeegee or spatula:

I do indeed use a silicone spatula. There is little to none on the plate and just a bit on the facing edges that is easily scraped onto the mat with a spatula. It just doesn't seem to hang around on the plates as much as parchment.

I’ve been squishing like crazy. The oil slick paper showed up today and I like it. I kept losing rosin to my plates and now they are clean with one slick paper. I squished almost an oz. I didn’t keep track of strains or anything just because I was so into the squishing part haha. Next round I’m going to keep track and get some batts for my scale which died in the middle of weighing some rosin haha

Do you press each strain at the same temps and the same amount of time?
Or do you tune your temps and time for each individual strain?

That's two runs and represses, both were Dutch Passion Think Big, the left was 4.1g and the right 3.02g.

Pressed both for just over 3 min at 190F. That's the first I've gotten a strain to budder up any, and they worked out to just over 15% return. I'm pretty happy with that, it was over dried pretty bad when I got it and even my Boveda 62's couldn't get it back up above 57%! I need to rehydrate them and start over.....

I haven't figured out my pressure calcs, I need to look up the spec's for my press. I probably went a bit overboard, both up to about 3.5T, and those pucks were made with a 30mm DP press. Pressed this on a full sized 20T with the DP 3x5 caged, everything worked beautifully! No tears, no blowouts and almost no leak thru using the Raw 5x5 pre-cut sheets. I wish they were 5x7, might be easier to work with, but like this they've grown on me.

Of course, now there's all this talk about drip tech and people pressing bare as well, slow down guys, I'm just learning the basics!

I’ve pressed them all about the same at 195 f. Pressure wise, I think about the same too. I tried the fold over re-press and got a little bit but I think I’m just going to save my pucks for some everclear. Also, I’m using 37 micron as it keeps my vape pen cleaner. I’m not too worried about a little loss. I’m pressing at about $20-25 a gram. That’s a win when places charge 50-60 for a gram of rosin. And this is better...

It's a 20T with gauge from NorthernTool.

Yes, it was two, single puck runs. I'm still using training wheels.

I could order some 65% packs, and probably should. For now I changed out the packs and started rehydrating the old ones.

With those gauges I think you'll just take the tonnage in lbs and divide that by your puck surface area to get your PSI. You could try 1.8-2 tons and see how it compares in yields.

Good call on rehydrating, better then buying more. I wasn't as happy with the 65s as the 62s.

Not the best news on the strongway pump procurement to pair with our hr10t35v rosin press. Seems the run on pumps has put northern tool & equipment stock on backorder 15-29 days!

I did find other pumps with gauges but they are not as affordable.

... I've posted on some hobbyist forums looking for one but have not been lucky. I will likely go ahead and backorder the strongway and get in line before shelling out another hundred.

Tracking my unit now, can't wait to get it... but on the other hand can't do anything till I get a pump.

What is an appropriate size to accommodate for the 10t press, strongway pump, and a collection area?

I think 24x24 is going to be too small.
I found one 48x16 and 40" tall. Is 16" deep going to be big enough? For $50, this is priced right...

I am working on a 24x48 stainless table I got at webstaurantstore.com for a decent price. Half of the table is dedicated to the press and pump, the other half is dedicated to my prep space. The pump divides the table and everything stays nice and debris free on the press side.

There's also a lower shelf that I use, I have all of my filters and tools down below. Both the top shelf and bottom shelf have good weight capacity for pressing.

I am rly tempted to go with a Enerpac Pump like the P-141 or the P-391,
the smaller unit (P-141) has 327ml capacity and pretty the same Oil Displacement Per Stroke
as the CP390 but is TINY (just 13" long)

Is that right and should work well to or am I wrong @Dabpress ?

Other Option would be the P-391 with much bigger capacity and an increased Oil Displacement Per Stroke
of 2,4 vs 0,9 (P141) / 1,0 (CP390) that would mean much less stroking at pretty the same (Pump) diameter as stock (CP390)

FYI Oil Displacement Per Stroke is how much oil u pushing in the cylinder per stroke, the higher the capacity the more the cylinder will be pushed out and therefore less strokes for. max pressure

Those are pretty expensive pumps but the smaller unit would be waaaay more handy and the beefier one save some time/power if I am right..?

so with these jacks with out the gauge. Just buy a T and a gauge. Take off the hose from the pump
end and put your T in. Just make sure that they are tight. This is what I did with the pump I got.

While I appreciate the suggestions for pumps to be used without the gauge, that is somewhat the point of going with the hr10t35v press. I want a gauge so I can tune into the pressures and time that work best for me, and then achieve the most consistent results every time I press.

If I wanted to go without a gauge, I likely would have opted for the less expensive bj3t33 pro, or the bj6t35.

I like the idea of a T with a separate gauge, that may be the only option for the near future.

This is exactly why I waited for the hr10t35v, I wanted to get a press that assured me precise temps AND pressure. So a gauge was something I really wanted even tho it meant waiting for the press a little longer and cost more money for the pump.

Already learnt lessons about pressure, 7000 psi is way way to much haha but I wouldn't have known why the blow out occurred without that gauge to compare and adjust.

Albeit I'd of likely figured it out in the end .
