Yessir that’s definitely the dabpress for me! I’m opting for the smaller Dp-pm30r* because although I gotta have it in SS, I won’t be squishing ounces in one go like Mr. Bigtime @gunmetalshark ! I’m sure glad he makes videos of his exploits for our entertainment though, so we can watch the flood of sweetness.
@psychonaut & @dabpress.com Thanks for making this high-quality press for the wannabe rosineer who will be just squishing for one person, at a price point that allows everyone to get involved in this hobby!
* what size filter bag diameter would be appropriate for this prepress? I’ll probably just press a bud most times but would want to have the filters for experimentation to see the difference. Thanks!
Nice, Roger! But doesn't it matter for use of drip tech that the angle is more 70 degree than 90?
And what are your plans regarding larger plates for commercial use?
Seems perfect for personal pressings, nice job @dabpress.com team!!
That is a great offer Roger, for our FC members. Free cylinder pre-press mold and filters to get new rosineers up and running. At $399 this is hardly an investment, this is cheaper than an ounce of top shelf meds in some areas! A rosin press will pay for itself in short order! Why pay someone else to produce your meds when you can do it yourself in minutes?
Just a little bit of a comparison to BHO -
Blasting BHO can be dangerous, in many areas even illegal without a license. It was just the other day in the news I had read about a house fire in Pueblo that was caused by BHO production. Rosin does not have this danger as you are working strictly with low heat and pressure on a unit that is self contained and unable to reach dangerous temperatures even with extended use.
In order to produce BHO you need a fair bit of equipment. Even for just minimal tech extractions, you need a heated vacuum chamber, vacuum pump, blasting tubes, blasting dishes, butane. The cost of all that equipment easily tops $399 and has a distinct disadvantage of not being able to preserve the terpenes without investment in a much larger and expensive closed loop extractor.
The amount of time needed to produce BHO vs rosin for most personal consumers is quite long, 2-3 days in purge versus usable immediately.
Additionally, no residual solvents as nothing is used except heat and pressure. As I was speaking with a kind woman on the phone yesterday, she raised the point of knowing your meds are clean, and having the ability to control the medicine from start to finish is the best part. I couldn't agree more. She had settled on the bj6t35 as previous presses she has owned like the t-shirt style press weren't giving her an even squish on her buds due to how the plates lowered, leaving a portion of the puck thicker on the front than the back.
It's harvest time around the northern hemisphere, enjoy your pressing =)
Still thinking about the value for money that this little monster is, I first thought of the ounce comparison @psychonaut made and my second thought was that one can spend >$400 on quite a few vaporizers, desktop & portable. It’s insane to me that Roger managed to bring another top quality, heavy-duty yet portable AIO press to market in 2018, this time for less than or around the cost of many vapes. I bet lots of good little stoners put a dabpress on their Christmas list this year!

This press is just what I was looking for.
Thanks, Roger. I didn't only mean complete presses but larger caged plates sets like 5x7-6x8 for use with 30-50t presses
Either you use a bigger H-frame press or a strong desktop solution with something like that
Wow, this is exactly what I've been looking for! @dabpress.com I think you'll be getting a order today...
Thank you!
Well noted, for this unit, single PID controller heat up dual plates, only one plate temp detected. However, it has 2-3 degree difference between top and bottom plates.
Perfect, I'm new to pressing but I'm sure just having the top plate temp controlled will be fine.
Just placed my order!

Hey @StoneDog firstly welcome to FC and congrats on finding this thread for these great presses & plates. But I think you’re misunderstanding about the single PID controller as it doesn’t just heat the top plate & then rely on a heat transfer to the bottom platen. Rather the one PID sends power to and controls the temp for both plates. Look at the pictures above more closely and you’ll see that the controller’s cable splits in two and goes to each plate.
While it’s true that most AIOs and plates/controller packages include two controllers so that each plate’s temp can be independently adjusted, I imagine that in reality most folks set both plates to the same temp and don’t see what the benefit would be to set them differently since they’ll quickly stabilise anyway if you’re doing multiple pressings.
If you are new to pressing, I highly recommend reading/scanning through this entire thread because there’s a lot of knowledge and wisdom based on experience here. Some say, “I’m too busy to read!” but in this case it’s an investment that will surely pay off when your new baby finally arrives. You’ll have more success and less questions because most all the FC rosin pioneers hang out and share their experience here.
Just my opinion and suggestion, having not jumped into this game myself yet due to outside evil forces. The day my situation changes, I’m ordering the very same press! Congratulations and good luck!
My friend, I'm sorry, but I think you are misunderstanding him.
For sure both plates are heated but only one is temp CONTROLLED by the one probe as he said.
And probably there is some degrees difference and also probably these difference is neglectable.
But there is no heat stabilizing between the two plates because they never have direct contact in use
Hey Everyone,
Thanks for your help over the last month. I'm purchasing everything for my press this weekend. Can you please consider my list and recommend anything that's missing?
Specifically, psychonaut, in your presses, what are the black X shaped pieces under the bottom of your press? Are they necessary?
The list:
dake b10 (amazon)
DP 3x3 plate kit with premold and 160 micron bags. (should I maybe get a few size bags?) (Also, will these come with the
Will these come with the necessary screws?
I'm looking at parchment papers but haven't decided on one. Is bleach vs non-bleach parchment a consideration?
Is anything missing?
Thanks
