So the stem is basically a u shape (note I used a lowercase U which has the little stick bit at the bottom), and you fill it with water pretty much to the top of the u.
The inlet joint is connected to the top left of the u.
As you pull the vapor comes down and flows up the other side. It basically acts as a natural perc.
The bottom right of the u lets water back in so that you're always getting water filtration, otherwise at the beginning of the hit you'd clear all the water out of the tube and end up with effectively a dry pipe
That part also has a ball valve there, so that it will let water flow in, but not vapor flow out.

My take, the diffusion pump is a dream for dabs. There is very little room in the can that water isn't touching for reclaim to accumulate or surface area for the glass to rob flavor.
I'm guessing for dabs, some kind of water rig is needed/preferred because of the heat of the nail and the resulting vapor cloud.
IMO, the magic of the diffusion pump is that the perc is constantly surrounded by water, so it should always be as cool as the water. Instead of diffusion\cooling from water like you normally get making bubbles, you are getting mostly cooling from touching cold glass and a tad bit of diffusion from the water at the end. The water recycling feature of the ball check valve ensures that the water in the can is constantly stirred, instead of using the same bit of stale water. So these two things combined means the flavor lasts longer. And the placement of the perc + low diffusion means you can hit it as hard as you like without taking a drink.
Not saying it's bad for vapor, just geared towards oil use. Can't wait to see some vids.

Thank you @Frederick McGuire for that explanation! I figured I had a good idea of how it worked, but I missed the bit about how it recycles.
Since I'm flowers only, I'm going to wait until I hear from someone using it with the nano (and maybe some feedback from the first customers) to determine if I want to try one out.

Too nice for my enail after considering the water weight added to the piece and the hollow base- one fc710 coming my way! Where do people grab their preferred dropdowns from? Need a couple- 14mm female-18 male & 14female- 18 female

Pretty sure it doesn't come up in search results because it is listed as a dorpdown instead of drop down or dropdown (just messaged them to correct the listing).
Pretty sure alina has some drop downs that are male jointed.

They are a good seller. I bought some dropdowns from them and they are good quality. I also got a double barrel recycler from them and it is thicker and better quality than the other ones I have purchased from other sellers

Just got word that the price is "about $55". I suggested 40-45 at first when he asked what it should be, going based on the fc-187, and not knowing what the manufacturing is going to cost him, and he said that it would be about $55 because it has the 8 pillars which break easily during welding, as well as more height than the fc-187 which may increase shipping price.
Seems more than fair for such an amazing piece.
Still awaiting a water test.

I was expecting it to be 14-16 inches tall, not 12.
The mini pillar is gonna be around 10 or so isn't it?
