Just been getting into Leftfield recently. Leftism is a great album.

Have you guys heard Apparat's new album? It has a crazy story to it and is probably the best thing I've heard all year. yo Kian just wanted to give you props on SC3 and Mr. Bungle. While I'm not the biggest fan of SC3, I have immense respect for them and Trey Spruance. Funny you mentioned Zorn, he's hands down my favorite composer and I actually prefer SC3 doing Masada tunes over original material but those are just my ears. And Bungle were just ridiculous haha, no question there. Anyway, just wanted to give you props on your unique tastes and ears. It's not often I meet people (in person or online) who dig the more free, more experimental and avant-garde side to music.

I'm lucky enough to have a lady who gets stoked over Anthony Braxton's "For Alto" especially the track "To Composer John Cage" (Lee Konitz fans beware, this stuff is fierce, dissonant, and transcendent.)

Man, Braxton is amazing.
I went to a jazz festival in Holland a few years ago where Zorn was artist in residence. Masada Sextet, Bar Kokhba, Secret Chiefs plays Masada and a few other Zorn things. Anthony Braxton was there with Diamond Curtain Wall trio but there were clashes. I could either catch both Otomo Yoshihide's Jazz Orchestra (Otomo is one of my favourite guitarists) and Zorn doing a cobra set with Trevor Dunn etc os catch the whole of Braxton. I chose the former, but I reckon Braxton would have been one of the highlights, I love that trio. I haven't heard enough of his stuff but he has quite a mind!
I can't stream anything right now but I will check that out for sure.

and yeah, I can't say Spruance is better than Zorn or vice versa, I think I just find the geometry of Secret Chiefs 3 to be richer but it works on a very different level. It was great to hear the interpretations of Zorn's work on Xaphan. That album is a favourite amongst everything.

I reckon everyone here will get into this, Xaphan seems to have wider appeal and you can hear why

I love Fraud's production and beats. I had this track off that album on damn near repeat for a few days. Curren$y (still think its stupid to have a $ in your name but whatever) goes in on his verse as always.
