Bach's Goldberg Variations performed by Glenn Gould.

It is a series of 34 tiny little piano pieces ranging from less than 30 seconds to 4:20. Pace goes from slow to ecstatic and back.

There was a movie from the early 90's about this pianist called 32 Short Films About Glenn Gould. I saw it in an art house theater with a girl I was trying to impress so I could sleep with her, so I cannot remember if I loved the movie or that girl. . . . . . but I'll never forget that night and the end result of that date is that I do have one really great classical music album to listen to while managing breakthrough pain in the middle of the night.

@momofthegoons I'm so happy to hear that you gave Glenn Gould's piano key mashing a chance. It's an album I've kept coming back to for twenty years now. I like to listen to it one single time three or four times a year. It's one of those "deserted island" albums that is outside my typical genre choice, but could not be left behind.

And thank you for sharing the YouTube link with me. I actually had no idea that a video existed of this studio recording. I probably should have since I watched a movie about this piano player twenty one years ago, I was mesmerized when I realized that this man played the piano with his whole body: It is just his finger tips that touch the keys, but the whole body is definitely playing that keyboard. Hell, the man even sang to the piano the whole time in a unique and bizarre language that I'm certain only pianos and men named Glenn Gould understand.

I think now that I have found this thread, I'll just use it as my personal vaping radio station. Thanks for being here, folks!
