Concentrates for Noobs - Q&A

I did not realize how much this thread has aged... Hash Rosin tech was not even established at the time of the original post.

Glass has also evolved so much, with the specific application of oil rigs.
Quartz has also gone through its own steps. From simple nails and bangers, to the slurpers and blenders you see today.

Newbie question here. What is a slurper and blender? Do we have a picture

All slurpers are based on JP Toro's Terp Slurper. They have a dish with intakes where you load your dab and a thin column. A blender is basically a slurper with a wide column. Easier to clean and allows you to use pearls.

Pretty easy to find pictures online but VGW has lots of both styles.

Yes and there are hybrids in between, as I said the blenders I'm using have side slits where the dish meets the other part, more like a slurper (I've actually never used a blender with the tracks on the bottom dish for the airflow intake) and there are also control tower slurpers that are different, they only use pillars, standard slurpers use both pillars and pearls, all using top marble cap

The only blenders I've had did have the side slits in the bottom plate, and I like them.

I feel like I'm able to vaporize more of the concentrate with less waste than a banger.

Yeah this is what I was referring to as the bottom slit tracking, side slits is actually not this to me, because the slits are on the bottom here... Side slits is the kind I have, that is more like a slurper, combined with a blender style... Better words maybe lol I thought I shared photos of mine here but can't remember now, image hosting harder

How much life do you all get out of your quartz?
What is normal?

I go anywhere between 4-18 months before I start to fog up, using primarily round bottom bangers.

We're using different setups of course, but I haven't tossed any yet... Much easier to keep them clean with dunking now, wish I did that from the beginning so they wouldn't be stained partially some! (I've also heard there are ways to clear up that fogging with something like dark crystal perhaps)
