Hi Folks !

It is possible to remake the ball if broken but its not easy. Due to the shrinking of ceramic in the process of burning and the unigue fitting of
each ball i found it very hard to make it fit as perfect as it did before so the new ball cant be as good as the old.
We are talking about handcrafted ceramic pieces and i wish my craftsmanship would be so good as to have the abbility to make a new one as good as the old.
I am actually making a new model where the ball is not a ball but a "Puck" and that makes it much more easy to remake it because there are two flat surfaces where i can grind material off to the point where it fits. The two surfaces are also not parallel to each other but slightly "wedge shaped".
Theres still much room for new inventions as Axel and janine often show with their wonderful creations..
I can of course feel those of you who are afraid to spend that much money on a vape device and ceramic piece of art which is maybe only a piece of art with a missing part when the ball falls apart ..
When i make a new ball i have to build it, burn it, glaze it and then make it fitting to the vape. The process takes time and effort and that makes it unfurtunetly expensive compared to the price it had and in the end its not said that it will fit like the old one.
So i guess its important to get away from the ball as herb chamber to other forms more suitable for rebuilding.

Beside the herb chamber theres still only one part that have to be removed from time to time (mostly years !) and that is the heating spiral
which is not only done fast but also cheap and to those who asked about a possibility to have it repaired in the US thers good news.
I found someone who is willing to do it and we are in the process. He already has the knowledge on how to do it and only needs the tools and some practice now. I hope he wont lose the motivation cause its not that easy to change the spiral
Anyway there will be a repair station in your country soon !
Collyland is constantly developing and i hope u will continue to join us in the process.

It sounds like your new puck design is a great idea. You have a really interesting product, and your initial price for the unit is reasonable. If you can just make it more easily serviceable and repairable, you will get a lot more middle-class customers to invest in your products. Good luck with your new design.

Yes it isnt new. Month ago i already sold 2 "Berserk/Viking vapes and Axel also built Vaporizer with a similar head shape mostly hidden and in a kind of "drawer" shape as a design element, like the Tea Pot, which was avaliable not long ago.
I did not spent the time to develop that model but im into it now.
I also made an extra Puck for one of the Models cause the original one has a crack in it and i found it much more easy to remake it then the ball shape. Axel and Janine also made Vapes with an extra herb chamber.
Its the Ball shape that makes it hard.

You can get the ball fixed too, either way it needs to be sent back to Europe, Felix can make a new ball to fit it, but it will not be perfect again... And it does cost money to send it back and get it fixed, I think it's $250 total? Seems like a quick turnaround for getting the heater fixed, I imagine the ball bowl would take a little longer though... Someday I really would love to have ceramic studio access so I can offer to make replacement, or even spare, ball bowls from people's VB/OABs sent in to California...

It’s 80€ to have it sent in EU with the new ball. I don’t know if he asks a little bit more if asking for repairs from the US.

I think an ice pinch is not necessary. Cooler air = more condensation and more painful hit. Warm water is better ;D

In terms of how durable is the VapBong?

Well, I'm a young, clumsy, stoney dude who often has other young, clumsy, stoney dudes around. The VB is heavy enough that it's pretty tough to tip and the ball is just going to be on the VB itself when not in use. Now at 2+ yrs of VB ownership and haven't come so close as to scuffing it

I've broken dozens of glass stems for reference. So far, so good!

If a person, like me, were to buy one of these new designs...could you make me a second puck/bucket for it, to be purchased up front? It doesn't even have to match the finish, as long as the fit is correct. Just a plain black "back-up" puck would be a great accessory upgrade.

I know, for sure, my wife will break the first puck within 1 year (and she'll somehow blame our dogs). So, it would be ideal to purchase a properly fitted backup (or two), right up front.

Lol I broke a part of mines the other day, it’s fairly too heavy cuz of the turtle, slid it and it tipped over and snapped the leg of the turtle off

Im on the way for some classic builds in this style and there i can make some with longer mouthpieces although it is more likely for them to break.
It would also look kinda weard when the arm of the wiking is too long in comparison to the other body parts
I can asure you that u dont get burned noses while pulling cause i just tested the viking in my latest video on my YT channel ( which is in german only but i will have some english explanations in the upcoming video soon)

Yeah I know there's no problem using the mouthpiece that short, as I do have a mini OAB myself, but I think it is more comfortable form factor so you don't have to bend over as much to hit it with a longer mouthpiece, for my own use of course, while it also provides a little extra cooling with the longer vapor path... Although yes it does require you to be more careful with it, and shipping will be a bit riskier then as well!

I've been using one of the first VIkings for a while now, and have never found the mouthpiece arm too short. In fact, I'd lean towards recommending that the device be kept more compact. Makes for a smaller footprint.

Oh yea I used some jb weld to glue it back on, I did an amazingly horrible job as usual lmao

It is a little more comfortable with longer mouthpiece and the vape might be a little cooler indeed but in exchange the shipping will be less riskier as well as the danger to break it while using. But as you said its good to have some with a longer mouthpiece for those who prefer it and i will
keep that in mind when building the next classics !
