After having and using a Calypso, a Protege and an Influx I think I prefer the Influx the most. I've already put the Protege on a shelf and I hardly use the Calypso since I don't really find myself reaching for the TM2. Then if I use the TM2 I want my Influx.

Once the Influx gets going it really pulls and makes it super easy to take long rips. It seems cooler than the Protege too. The Protege requires a bit more of a pull and after using it and only it for a few weeks, I tried my Influx and have not gone back.

I have seen the light. I have been seeing people use these drop down ashcatchers and advocating for them. I never quite understood why, but I trusted in the entiverse. my dropdown arrived yesterday and I put it on the calypso. Once I looked down at the dropdown from the user pov it all makes sense, at least if you are right handed. I have just ordered more.

Different strokes! I found the opposite. Influx was a hard pull for me, but agree it wasn’t too bad once you get it going. I do use minimal water, just above the perc, in the Protege. And without attachments if feasible ;)

It is awesome and a great DD. Would be cool if oriented the other way was as an option. I’ve always pulled the plug with my left hand :tinfoil: Easy enough to pull the bowl in most cases though.

Being in Europe makes it a little far and probably too expensive for such a piece. Will have to see and find if a local glass worker even exists around my place. Will have a look ! But I wonder if I shouldn’t just order another one on CC’s website :mental:

Oh, yeah, definitely better local, always tricky in another country... Certainly fastest and simplest to just order another one if you can afford it, repairs aren't exactly cheap typically either anyway, only alternative

My Vertex and Xeric just landed and I am stunned. Absolutely gorgeous in person. I wish I were a better photographer, especially shooting glass:

Unfortunately I have a bad cold right now so I haven't hit it yet. Maybe I will still take it for a test drive. Perhaps it will speed up my healing 😄.
how is that injector heated up? Looks really nice

It's a Cloud Connoisseur Atlas:

It's a cartridge heater surrounded by rubies powered by a VVPS. I adore it although I don't use it as often as I should.

After I posted I wondered why I rarely use the Calypso. My house is getting the master re-modeled and its a disaster zone so I've decided that in order to stay lazy I would rotate thru my pipes and clean them when the room is done.

So, the Influx got dirty after almost 2 straight weeks of 24/7 use. I swapped the Calypso in (with an E-Nano and same everything else but with a 14mm water pipe stem) and took the most flavorful rip I might have ever had. I filled it to the brim and then took a bunch of test pulls until I was no longer sucking water for filling level. It needs 2 pulls to kill the stem like the Influx and unlike the Protege but they are seriously tasty. It seems to stay cool too, with room temp water.

I've been swapping back and forth between the two of them.

One CC accessory that I'd love to see is a 14mm bubble trap plug like the 10mm passthrough plug. I might be in the minority but I like using plugs as part of my ritual

It took a while, and iDB and I had a bit of a mix-up – but the result is wonderful: the first bubble trap Prophet in the wild:

I think the photos speak for themselves – this piece is simply stunning!

Currently, I'm using it with the new micro dose bowl from CC with the Omega, and it seems like a dream team – a one-hit extraction at relatively low temperatures is no problem with this combo.

I was initially a bit surprised by the rather restricted airflow, quite different from the Calypso or the J-hooks I usually use. After a short familiarization period and adjusting my draw strength, the Prophet and I are slowly getting along, and I'm confident we'll soon be thick as thieves.

The Prophet is definitely a unique experience and quite different from the other pieces I own. A very interesting piece, and I'm looking forward to future experiments.
