Cheap High Quality Bubbler

@emmdeemo sadly i haven't got a PNWT with me to compare, but from what I can see the mini nectar collector is smaller all around, with less diffusion and less splash resistance. However, it is nice because you can put it up to your lips vertically and still get a seal (bubbles best when it's straight, although a slight angle is fine), the PNWT looks like you may need to tilt your entire head to use it vertically
My mini nectar just arrived today. I haven't tried it yet but there's a hole in the closed end that water comes out of. I don't know if it's a mistake or if it's designed that way. Can you point me to the picture of yours in use? My PNWT from sunshine leaks from the closed end also and I didn't expect that.

Hi guys it's been a while and I did get to Colorado to see the best experiment ever.

When I got back I broke my favorite little bubbler. I have a $20 credit at DHGATE

Does anyone have any ideas?

I tried to get the knockoff pinacle water tool from the sunshine store but it never got to me - hence the credit

So give me some ideas

You might get a better recommendation if you share whether you prefer:
- minimal diffusion for max flavor or
- max diffusion which bleeds off some taste but the vapor is smoother/ less harsh.

Where on that continuum ....

So there's water coming out of the mouthpiece end? you might have overfilled it, these don't hold all that much water to begin with. You can fill it a bit more when you have a high restriction set up, like an ed's tnt stem and a solo (compared to the quartz tip, it'll splash with that unless you have the water just at the slits)

Can the mini nectar work with the arizer solo stem and tape or a grommet instead of a gong?

Thanks for the reply. I'm the member who has terrible throat issues and needs as smooth a vapor as possible. My throat is much better since my nodules were removed - everyone on the site was so good to me. So less harsh is best. But I want something small since I have a D020 (which I love) but isn't as portable. This would be for my azier air that I would use with my planet vape adapter. What is the FC710 that I am reading so much about?

Does this info help? Yes CO so rocked loved it

Thanks

I love my FC-710. Flavor is amazing. I don't find it irritating. Ymmv. I have several other bubblers that are much smoother, notably the FC-mini and d020-d. The FC-mini is definitely smaller/more portable, but there may be even smaller matrix perc bubblers out there. Diffusion-flavor trade off for each piece. I still use the FC-710 regularly, love that flavor. But if I hit trim run, I need diffusion.

Both ends leaks. I wonder about the part that is on the top on the first and third picture and bottom on the middle one. Is that part supposed to have a small hole in it that water leaks out of? On the middle picture the water would empty out slowly. I want to use it with my air and solo.

Try checking out the Fc-cake. I was always interested in it.

Isn't the FC mini the one with a built in honeybucket, and no gong joint?
Not really suitable for pairing with the air id think?

Good recommendation, it is a bit fatter than the d020, but it's certainly a jump up in diffusion.

I wouldn't really call it any more portable than the d020, but certainly very comparable, and a decent bit more diffusion.

@LongIslandmom as far as I read on your message, the 710 doesn't suit you well, since it's quite huge and sure less portable of the D20
What?
The 710 is a fairly similar size to the d020, maybe a little smaller.

It offers less diffusion, so I'd agree it's not really what @LongIslandmom is looking for, but not for portability reasons...

The closest "FC" piece I can think of that is "quite huge" is the FC-1000...

Mini straight fab (20cm):

I heard something about a new diffusion pump from steven, with a solid base and a female joint.
Does anyone have more info about it?

Also, I'm really interested in the devastator. With all kind of interchangeable percs...

Would the GB-194 from yinming be good for @LongIslandmom?

I don't have one but it sounds like it gives a good amount of diffusion and almost no drag. Maybe no drag will help with the sesitive throat?

It might not be the most portable piece though.

Or maybe the D020-D from Sunshinestore? Good diffusion, low drag and good price.

Not much to suggest from DHG but you might consider something like this https://www.magic-flight.com/club/bottle-rocket in function if not in form. If you have a bottle you are good to go and its east to transport. Good Luck

@LongIslandmom i think you are gonna want as much diffusion as possible to help with throat sensitivity. The FC-710 is great for dabbing and flavor, but is harsher than some of my other pieces. Possibly look into a piece with a matrix perc like the FC cake. Or maybe even a Honeycomb Perc, or a fritted perc. Maybe even a piece with 2 percs. Portability and smoothness are a really hard combo because a larger size helps smooth out the vapor. Hope this helps.

That's the dp-mini I've been working on with Steven. It should be about the same size as the fc-710, with a body style similar to the fc-mini, and a banger hanger out front instead of a joint on top. There's more info in the custom glass ideas thread, including the most recent design image.

The first sample was supposed to be finished last week- did Steven give more info on when it might be ready?

Edit, I found the mock-up image so you don't have to dig for it:

Man I been away from the thread for a minute... trying to catch up!

I wish the the fab section on this rig was a little bigger... it would probably help with preventing the drinking of water.

I pulled the trigger on a 9" Torus from Steven on Friday so the waiting game begins...

Side note: the guys who bought e nails, how did it turn out for you?

tstar,
@LongIslandmom sorry, I meant the FC-cake not mini. I saw it being sold as a mini cake bong also, got my Chinese glass search terms all confuzzled. FC-cake is relatively miniature, while still providing a large amount of diffusion.

PNWT knockoff will disappoint. I bought one for the "bong-style" mouthpiece, but wish I'd saved the cash. A similar device would be the nectar collector which depending on te style you choose could be spill-proof or have a mouthpiece long enough that you won't get a mouthful of water. It's not a ton of diffusion, so it would be better for your throat than dry hits, but a matrix is probably the best option for a really tender throat. FC cake is sold by Steven, but at one point Kathy had a version as well, I believe "cake bong" was what I typed to find both. There are a ton of tiny oil rigs that come up, you'll have to sift through a number of results of you want to find it made by someone other than Steven. I bought mine from him and like it quite a bit (ok, technically someone bought it for me from him as a gift).

I have a cheap PNWT thing too and also think it's a bit crap, lol
I bought a D020-D from sunshinestore instead and think it's great at reducing the throat irritation (though I always keep a cool drink of water or juice nearby as well these days).
I rarely use my vapes without it now.

And I find my FC-cake is like my d020-d, but smaller/more portable. Either of them would be a killer choice for helping your throat, based on my experience. Again, there's probably a better mid-point for flavor and diffusion, but why not spring for diffusion now and get an FC-710 for flavor later (assuming your throat will get progressively better).

As long as you have a tight enough fit I don't see why not, as long as it seals and doesn't fall off it should be fine. I used a straight solo stem wrapped in electrical tape as a "g"ong for a while.

Both ends leaks. I wonder about the part that is on the top on the first and third picture and bottom on the middle one. Is that part supposed to have a small hole in it that water leaks out of? On the middle picture the water would empty out slowly. I want to use it with my air and solo.

I see, you're saying there's another hole in the splash-guard straw aside from the one at the end? that may be a defect, mine wouldn't leak water like that unless it was filled above the top of the straw

I've had my 710 whip for a little while now, it's pretty nice for the most part. Put about 3 grams through it so far, so I did run into a few problems. The wires for the heater coil are somewhat delicate, and I like switching rigs up so I ended up breaking one of the connections from bending it too much. They sent an extra heater for free with the replacement I ordered, so it all turned out okay. The other thing is that the little channel in the dabcap gets clogged up occasionally with seasoning or residue or whatever it is, at which point I take a paper clip and knock it all out. That aside, the dabcap is pretty handy, especially when you have several people and several dabs. Nice taste off the ceramic, too.
