Cheap High Quality Bubbler

Dabs are vapor too!
Thanks diehard. I'm such a newb with glass and learning one step at a time. I won't buy legit glass until I know the intricacies of glass. That's why I love cheap China glass. I can try ones I like and don't, and invest in the real artist.

I believe there is one point glassblowers completely forget. Awareness. I know China is stealing your designs but have you had this much demand since China started replicating? i completely disregarded any glass piece over $200, but now that I see what the hype is about, I might purchase a legit piece (more likely) that may cost $500-$1000. I think it brought awareness to the difficulty of blowing glass, almost free advertising. If I have a good financial year in 2015, I might buy a legit mothership. Never would have thought of that if it wasn't for dhgate.

I'm waiting on my ccg egg and fc711. Eager to see the reviews on the FC ufo v2.

How do you guys store your glass? im scared a lil tremor in Cali will knock my rigs off my shelf. I have them on those silicone heat mats.

Lol, I would NEVER purchase glass for $200, let alone 1k! I'm happy with my little $20 recycler. BUT, there are plenty who will, more power to them, and the craftsmen who build for them. Room for both, I say. I store my rig in a little briefcase style box, think it was for CDs. Just cut up some foam to fit the rig, dabber and nails.

I got the blue Chinaship mini from hymanquartz today great packaging! extremely thick quality glass right off the bat it has a nice weight and feel. It's a good size for an oil rig too great for flavor. But it has a really airy hit which im not sure im a fan of. but overall it works great tastes great.

Put a glass nail under the quartz bucket to add some restriction.

FC-UFO came in yesterday, and I'm blown away. Even though the placement of the mouth piece-joint may not be ideal its worked perfect for me so far. Don't think getting splashback will be much of an issue. No blemishes or scratches, clean perc cuts, thick glass, & joint connections are perfect. One thing that stood out to me was how solid this thing feels.

Function is great, good bubble stackage, quite smooth. For my virgin toke I packed up some OG kush. WOW. First hit drops a kick to the tastebuds as the fuely-pine flavor creeps from to tongue to my lungs. I've mostly been using it with the whip, I feel it adds an extra bit of restriction that pairs nicely with my DBV. The mouthpiece works solid too maybe even better in terms of vapor production.

I give this one 5 stars. Big ups to Stephen but bigger ups to the folks here at FC who, through their knowledge, determination, & collaboration, made this piece possible.

My pillar cycler landed today.

It's...
Interesting.

With the right water level, it seems to function well, but it's a very fine line.
Any less and it won't perc or recycle properly, any more and I get a drink...

IMO (seriously, wtf autocorrect, it keeps turning IMO into I'mI - dafuq is "I'mI"?) the return funnel could use a bit of tweaking, but it's fun enough to use...

I could see it being draggy with more water in it, but ime it's pretty smooth.
Nothing like the grenade perc tube drag wise.

In case anyone was curious, it's got an 8 slit showerhead, with 6 pillars.
Completely agree with this. I think it may be to do with the splashguard in the funnel. If you look at the CCG video on their page and pics/vids of the real version, the splashguard is more pointed than how mine is, which is more conical. I wonder if this is having some adverse effect on the function of the funnel.

Anyway I made a video to demonstrate function and the fine line between that and a mouthful of water.

I still il enjoy the piece but it's a shame the function isn't quite right... :peace:

If I put so much water in mine I will get water in my mouth. I use it with less water and in a normal pull will still get some. It has a lot of draw also, the pull is really hard to start and I usually end using my drag free FC187v2.

If you look at the original Vertigo piece the showerhead is near the pillars, here there is a lot of space between them, I think that's a mistake that makes the piece to have so much drag. Too much for me and my asthma...That and the function don't working right make me want to have a refund, I don't see myself using this piece.

I'm thinking about buying the D-cycler from CCG, how is the drag in that piece? I have seen in videos that the recycling is really good in that piece!

Random Question for all you beautiful people since I never realized how annoying it is searching specifically for accessories. Does anyone have any seller's who they like specifically for accessories like adapters and all that fun stuff? I.e tips on sellers with lots of accessory variety, or don't sell in 5 lots, or known to be thick and well blown, etc.

My UFO and 711 are waiting at my house today! Yesterday I went to an acquaintance"s house and was met by a table full of Mothership pieces! MS beakers, Illadelph Glyc coil.. lots of stuff. I'd never met anyone with more glass than me! 187 fv87, ratchet rec, ray gun dabber, fc711. ufo, incoming 186, egg, nectar tube) but he's listed it all for sale. He's upgrading to a clean white 5 series BMW

I didn't get a chance to see the egg as a friend was borrowing it, but I won't be trying to compare my egg side by side when it comes, the guys chill and no need to let my envy get abrasive

Funny. I just asked this a couple days ago. If you are willing to wait a month (seems to take that long to ship to me from China) I will give you a review of the adapters I just bought at http://www.dhgate.com/product/glass...mm-male-and/234865969.html#s2-31-1|2579071682 This was the best price I could find on a small lot. You can get five 14 or 18mm male/female to 14mm/18mm male/female for $12 shipped. We really need another thread called "cheap high quality adapters" just for sourcing the various things out there. I spent 30 minutes trying to find an 18mm male to whip adapter and gave up and just bought from vapornation.com for $13 apiece. It would be nice if there was one seller out there that would let you mix and match a bunch of adapters to get a volume discount. I personally don't need 20 of any adapter no matter how good it is.

I usually grab my adapters from this side of the Pacific. There are a few good ones on iOffer. I've done well with both bakebros and oregonglassblower . OGG's stuff is really nice, but a little pricier.

Or, thickassglass is having some good 420 sales on their adapters.

I just got my pillar recycler in too. Same issue.

Quality is perfect but function is not quite there. Water level is very sensitive. If you pull too hard at the start you will get a drink. I think the vortex funnel definitely has an issue. I also think the pillar tubes need a larger diameter. Some of the spots where the pillars are welded is pretty small in diameter. I feel like the drag is coming from the pillars because the slits on my Showerhead look normal size.

Anyways I might use it for a while but I won't be keeping it for long I feel.

Has anyone contacted them about a version 2?

Has anyone considered that the vertigo rendition of the pillar recycler just isn't that great of a design?

Because I have felt that way from the beginning but I think I stood alone. Everyone else keep asking for them but has anyone here hit the real thing. I think that this design incorporates form over function. It is unlikely that the people who spent big money on the real thing want to admit it was a waste. It would either make them feel foolish or there is a placebo effect of sorts that comes from the satisfaction of owning such an expensive piece. Since we are only spending about $50 it is much easier to come to grips with a design not being as good as you would hope.

Instead of trying to get a v2 made of this design I think it would be better trying to get new and different designs released :2c:

Well my Vertigo arrived today also and I'm going to have to disagree with you guys on the restricted draw. Imo it's not that bad, I've had worse. I will agree, if u pullto hard you will get a drink and the water level is sensitive. Also I don't believe the top chamber was meant to be a vortex chamber, I think it's just a spot for the water to splash into to avoid going up the MP. This is just my assumption.

But I like it n think it looks sweet too. The flavor is comparable to the FC-711, they're basicslly the same besides the shape of the piece. A showerhead perc kind into the pillar. Anyway here's a quick video.

Nice vid! I had to watch it a couple times, I seriously thought you farted at the 00.29 sec mark, damn shrink wrap!
