SSS it a very good shop. It's prob just my shitty luck but one of my orders was a d022 and it was broken. I recived a refund very fast! I have recieved other complete and functional pieces from them so I'm not saying any bad about them. So I reprdered and they had it shipped out in the 3 days. Too bad it been in customs for over a MONTH! Once again that's just my luck lol and I know that's not on them

Hey everyone! So I decided to purchase a piece from Stevenlmz79 a little while ago(didn't read all the bad stories about him on here, oops). I thought I would just let you guys know of my shipping situation in case anyone was wondering.

The piece I ordered: http://www.dhgate.com/product/2014-...ipe-birdcage/210563134.html#s1-0-1|1246099137

So I placed the order on Dec. 2nd, steven marked it as shipped on the 5th, but the first tracking of the item shows that it was accepted on the 7th. Last update from tracking is that it had left for USSFOF on the 8th.

I think I will be one of the few people to get this from him so I am kind of excited and also kind of worried. Anyone know how long it usually takes for stuff to get through customs? I will be leaving the country in 2 weeks so I hope I get it by then.

I'll update once I get it in hand! I already got a bowl to use in conjunction with the included nail and dome.

Welcome, StevenLmz79 is currently on MANY of our watchlists for the new FC-187 piece he just released.

I wouldn't get too worried if it takes a while to clear customs. Many pieces from my favorite vendor take 10 days from shipping to delivery, but one piece for no reason at all got stuck for a month in customs (I didn't even know if it was in China or the USA!).

The amount of days they list is a processing time before shipping. It can take up to that many days to ship out, and however many more days to arrive from China. I have seen processing times from a couple days all the way up to 50 days like yingmin with the 187 lots.

Everyone please have patience. There are many things that can delay shipping and stressing about it will not make things go any faster. Usually when I order pieces from China I don't even bother with tracking. They all come eventually and it's a cool surprise. Sometimes I even forget I ordered something and it is even more cool when I open it.

If nothing has happened in the 9 days since ordering that would be the time to raise questions and right now is premature :2c:

I disagree man. Of course shipping times vary greatly and China is a gamble. However, your man claims to have 100 pieces in stock. He should ship immediately if that is true. I'm not stressed and it is all fun and games but why delay if he has stock?

Use what you have until it arrives!

I ordered a GB-186 from Maarte a few days ago because Yinming was out of stock. When I came back on the forum someone posted that Yinming was back in stock... So now I'm stuck waiting the 15 day processing time instead of 3 days. Just the way it goes sometimes.

I used my own referral link so hopefully I'll get a $10 coupon (it has worked for me before) to use on the FC-187.

I'll probably hold out until someone receives theirs so I know the quality is good.

There are lots of businesses states side that ship once a week. I really don't think anyone needs to be anxious quite yet.

I agree, he probably doesn't go and ship until there is a sizable amount of orders to go out.

9 days is a bit much IMO, but I am guessing he will be shipping out before then.

Damn, that's pretty close to the original. It's hard to tell since the photo was taken at an angle but I think the base of the mouthpiece might need to be a bit higher relative to the top of the perc. I fill mine to the bottom of the slanted perc hole, sometimes a bit higher.

EDIT: Saw the water test in the Concept thread, water really shouldn't be bubbling up the mouthpiece since there will be splashback. @blankrider if you need any pics for reference I could get some for you.

I'd still be interested in the Maarte version when you get it. I don't think anyone here has reported back about one yet.

Erwin,
I not sure if this helps anyone, but when checking out some new glass from a new vendor or not, look to see if it shows their number in stock. If it does not show anything than I always assume they don't have them yet. Plus in the past I always have gotten orders much quicker, even from some vendors that have been problematic to some, when I see that they have so many in stock. May seem like common sense to some but maybe other have not noticed this.

I bought the Maarte version. Pretty sure they're identical as mine has the roor logos and the mouthpiece is also kinda bent to one side which I have seen people talking about. Kinda has a bit of an indentation mid way up the can near the support weld. I weighed trying to get a partial refund but ultimately decided I didn't care that much about 10 bucks or whatever and it was still a sweet piece.

With everyone talking about orders not being shipped right away it reminds me of ordering my gb-186 from Maarte. It stayed in processing for around 10 days and I was getting super antsy, but when it was finally marked as shipped, the tracking showed it had actually been shipped a couple of days after I ordered and was already in Canada. I got the piece like a day or two later. I was so certain I would never ever order from Maarte again, but seeing that it was actually shipped fast changed my mind.

This is a good rule when multiple vendors have the same piece, but I think a lot of the time even if it doesn't list the amount in stock it is probably still in stock. I just doubt that a lot of these vendors have amazing inventory management/could be bothered to record the number in stock. It probably wouldn't be that much of a hassle to do if you're only selling on DHGate, but if you are selling to a bunch of sources your info could easily become outdated and it is less of a hassle to just not bother. Really the main time you should worry that a piece might be out of stock is if it was just listed.

@weenstoned Yea, that's true. There are a lot of vendors that have one pic up that is clearly not their actual production piece but piece they intend to copy. They never have any in stock. Those are the ones that make me nervous because you see pic of a sick piece and finally when it you get you realize it just kinda resembles the pic you looked at. So I suppose it's not a rule of the thumb but something to consider when purchasing.

I have over 30 pieces from different vendor's.
No problems?
