Cheap High Quality Bubbler

I've had the same exact piece. It was at a local headshop for about 100 bucks. It's actually a Jedeye clone, I have both. Here's one that'll shock ya, I actually like the clone better! Granted it doesn't funnel as well as the Jedeye but it is such a smooth piece. Cools very well and as you can see there a double reinforced weld on there.

Nice pick up Ataxian!

Anytime you guy's are shopping recyclers the main thing I personally look for is how your water is brought to your funnel. If you notice with the piece that ataxian has pictured you can see the water is directly injected into the bulb. To me that was a red flag as most functional recylers come in at an angle like this:

_timthumb.php

This almost guarantees a nice funnel. With that being said I have learned to appreciate just the cooling effects and draw without the funnel. Shit, I have a few fucking expensive pieces that don't funnel either! It's because they don't have to. To be a function cycler all it has to do is exactly that - RECYCLE! lol

Don't let anyone tell you different! Doesn't matter if they funnel (or vortex), if they're doing the job than I say go for that shit!

Cool!

The one coming was $21 so if I can dab a few grams of shatter before I break it.

It's all good!

My ash collectors funnel so I guess I can use them?
@mvapes I am using my cheap torch for dabbing however it works however just want a little more power without breaking out my plumbing gear out.

Was it the Blaster GT8000 I want to use with my dabbing rig?

Dabs are vapor too!
that's not bad. is that imperfection on yours a scratch or a full on crack? it's hard to tell.

It's a crack inside the layers of grass

The crack doesn't bother me too much. piece is still functional and that's all I asked for with $30:)

im going to have to say that a crack is not an imperfection - if your piece is cracked, it's broken. on glass trading groups, a cracked piece is a broken piece and those guys are the true glass connesseurs. it's kind of bullshit that they would send you a cracked piece.

My D020 has an imperfection like that too. It seems to me more like a fracture one would see in a crystal, rather than a crack. To me a crack implies movement, where a fracture is stable, a defect inside the structure. Mine hasn't changed a bit. I'm no expert - just theorizing. Maybe a glass blower will comment on this.

I wonder if their careful with my orders?

This makes 6?
I have number 7 coming.

I feel bad you guys having some kind of imperfection's.

I have that same piece (same color) from sunshine store. At first I was disappointed with the lack of turbine action liked I'd hoped (only saw a true turbine when filling with hot water to flush clean). And I didn't see any turbine action from the side view.

But when viewed from overhead, there is a bit of turbine action of the bubbles, which also slightly (almost unnoticeable) swirls the vapor.

Sadly the lotus doesn't fit without some sort of extension (the cap is too wide). But I still like it for the price

I love this with a SOLO. I'm going to use the NANO with it tomorrow.

@BoogerMan thank you for all the great reviews and for providing links. You are the man! I would love to see a video of that double barrel recycler in action

Yup, great job on those reviews - thanks very much!

Thanks for the nice comments and likes!

@blankrider I will try to get a video up tonight of the double barrel before I get to my next review!

Sorry about not getting to my second and third review yet. Work got really busy. I will try to get another review done tonight/tomorrow and the last one done over the weekend.

I have another rig coming from Btoc_Jewlery that is in the US so it should be in my hands within the next few days :)

My GB-189 was delivered today, (as well as my Flowermate Vapormax V, but that's for a different thread). I'll take my own pics later when I can use sunlight, but below is a vendor pic. Arrived in just under 11 days, very quick to East Coast.

temp2.0x0.jpg

When @Mr. Gweilo 420 reported it didn't function well I was prepared for it to be a lemon. Was I able to get it to vortex? Unfortunately, no. But the perc itself does function quite well, diffuses vapor well and it does spin things just slightly, but yes, no real vortex to speak of. BUT I STILL REALLY LIKE IT.

This piece screams quality. It is noticeably higher quality than my D020 and D020-D. Nice thick 5mm glass and the black trim around the base is very professional not shoddy at all, I don't even mind the fake RooR logo as it matches the black trim nicely. It just has a supremely solid feel to it, all of you with quality glass know what I mean.

The base of the piece is VERY wide, much wider than my D (~20%) so the piece is quite stable (yes, yes, I'll get comparison pics up when I can be home when there's sunshine).

I LOVE the SIDECAR MOUTHPIECE. I've always wanted a sidecar, this is my first one, I'm in love. It give such a better view of what's happening in the can. The very flat top of the 189 helps as well. The trumpeted mouthpiece is my favorite style so far of all glass, this one is much larger than the D and I just find it much easier to use.

I may be imagining things, but I'm sensing noticeably better flavor out of this piece than my others. More testing is required.

Although the turbine perc doesn't vortex, it diffuses very well, stacks bubbles as well as my D's tire perc. Plus in a mirror I can see the water swirl a little. I fill it to just barely above the perc, it does that great thing where it separates the water with the pressure of your pull and you can see both water and vapor jetting through it, I think this increases water contact and cools better by accelerating both as they pass through. So now I disagree that a turbine perc can't work without a subordinate supplemental perc.

Uh, oh, the D020-D is looking at me funny. It knows what happened to the D020-OG a month ago and it knows that there's room next to it in the cabinet. To be honest, it may have a legitimate concern.

YMMV but for me GB-189's a winner  Thanks for reading.

Made a couple of upgrades to my recycler :D I used silicone to attach a low-pro reducer to make a 14mm female glass connection on top of the male, and also extended the mouthpiece by about 4 inches with a glass stem and a couple of silicone pieces. Makes this a much more comfortable piece to use now. :brow: Yeah, I need to burp and refill my torch lighter... click click click... still got a good hit

My 187 came in today. Looks like I got the rasta colors, which is sad but I can't complain for the price. It purrs nicely but the perc is tilted a little bit causing only one side to fire. Here's a pic and I'll try to get a vid up soon.

Edit: on a side note, I find it fascinating looking at these news papers that came not the package. Not only is this one dated 4/20, but it's looks like its about the boat that sunk with those students on it.

My GB-189 was delivered today...

Thank you for the detailed review. I'm in the same boat as you and have already accepted that this guy may not perform.. but now I am hopeful.

I'm West Coast and I think I ordered the same day as you, so hopefully tomorrow.

Regarding quality, I can't recall if you have a 187 or 186 as well. If so, how does this compare? If not, my 187 compared to my D020 sounds like what you describe regarding quality versus the two. The GB line seems a bit better thought out.. but again, I only have the two to compare.

On another note. Just had a friend up for a few days and we ran the 187 and D020 through their paces. He preferred the D020, I the 187, but just slightly. Both are pretty damn impressive.

Damn you, party liquor
Hey all! Just placed an order for the gb187 after exchanging a couple of messages with yingmin5. Very prompt with his responses. I was inquiring if they had any left without logos and they said they had a few left, so I put a note in at checkout to send me one without. We'll see how it goes. So a heads up for any on the fence, they may still have some without the logo. Wonder how möbius feels about having roors name on the knockoff of their piece?
@HSIHP sorry to see that perc lean, but it still looks like a solid piece other than that. Don't know what you are hitting it with but I overcome my Chinese glass perc flaws with massive Cloud+ rips. You can't hit that thing too fast:tup:

Isn't there a picture of a d020 and a gb187 side by side somewhere in this thread? I can't find it now. Search feature doesn't like "gb187"

You Must Unlearn, What You Have Learned...
I like the rasta logo, must resist!
The first thing I thought of when I opened mine, besides sweet, was I wonder if everyone who got in on the massdrop for the roor tech recycler are gonna wonder if the color they choose is available.

Did you request a blank or just want the black logo? Sucks about the perc being slanted, you can almost tell by the pic. Hope you can work out a deal!

Edit - @BoogerMan that vid is sick!! If a picture tells a thousand words well that vid told a whole novel. Truthfully wasn't really interested in that piece. Now I must own and will search for link! Thanks for your great reviews from an awesome new member of the community for sure!!!

Ps Done and done! The GAS attack is subdued... For now at least, here is a link I got from @BoogerMan awesome review: http://www.dhgate.com/store/product/1lots-glass-pipes-glass-bubbler-glass-glass/189937548.html

Looks like someone else ordered right b4 me, another FC member I would guess Meg?!?

@SSVUN~YAH nice purchase! You won't regret it. It is one of my favorite and most used pieces.

Photobucket is down. I will edit and post the rest of the images as soon as it is back up.

Finishing up Glass Pipe Master and covering Brothers With Glass and starting Thick Quality Glass:

GLASS PIPE MASTER

Item: Honeycomb and Grid aka Stereo Matrix to Honeycomb Recycler
Link: http://www.glasspipemaster.com/all-...rid-perc-cylinder-concentrate-water-bong.html
Price: $95 + about $15 shipping
Ordered: 4/14/2014
Delivered: 4/18/2014
Pros: Tons of diffusion. Extremely smooth pull. Zero drag. Thick quality glass all the way around and again no flaws. Brand name quality. It is a tricky piece as I explain in the cons below, but once you get it working right it is great. I will have to upload a video of this because it is hard to explain what I discuss in the cons below.
Cons: It is not your traditional recycler design. It doesn't vortex/whirpool/cyclone. I knew this from the picture because it does not have a large enough recycling chamber, but I wanted it anyways. So after finding the perfect water level, which is fairly tricky, I have grown to love this piece. So what happens is the bottom stereo matrix causes some bubbles to go up through the honeycomb, but other bubbles go up the mouthpiece tube/recycling chamber. I see this as a natural perc so instead of a stereo matrix to honeycomb it is kind of like a stereo matrix to natural perc to honeycomb lol.

Brothers With Glass

Item: Gridded Upline Recycler
Link: No longer available. It is made by American Glass based out of colorado. If this item every pops up anywhere and you have around $150 you need to buy this. I also believe another member posted some pictures of 2 recyclers a few pages back that someone on the forum makes. This recycler I am reviewing looked similar to those recyclers so if you can get your hands on one you should!
Price: $150
Ordered: 2/8/14
Delivered: 2/12/14
Pros: The best recycler I have seen and used for $150. Purrrrrrs like a cat. Has around 40-50 holes on the gridded upline. It is thick brand name quality without the logo. Love it! Makes the whirlpool and everything. Overall one of my all time favorite recyclers (besides the double barrel hitman knockoff haha).
Cons: None. Buy it if you see one like it!

Thick Quality Glass with some DHgate links too ;)

Item: Double Honeycomb to Turbine

Price: $110 + $15 shipping.
*On Thick Quality Glass - Create an account and add the item to your cart and let it sit there for a day. You will get an email with either free shipping or a 10% off coupon code (which basically covers US shipping).
*The DHgate items I found don't have the turbine splashguard but they are a lot cheaper :)
Ordered/Delivered: It was a while ago, UPS shipping, took about 4 days to get from East to West coast.
Pros: I really like the 7mm thickness. It feels really heavy and sturdy, but still manageable. The honeycombs stack bubbles like crazy all the way up to the turbine just like a frit. When you clear the pipe the vortex action happens. I will post a video later.
Cons: It is big, 16-17 inches. I like having a few big pipes, but I know most members in this thread like the smaller bubblers.
image_zps05960246.jpg

I have one similar to this one, but my "matrix" doesn't have nearly as many slits. It looks like this is the new and improved version lol. I will review my similar piece soon.
http://thick-quality-glass.myshopif...s-1/products/10-bent-neck-matrix-diffuser-5mm

Saw this one from a new seller named "Suade". Shipping was a little expensive to the US ($42) and no feedback for the seller but the quality and percs looked nice lol :) Maybe I will risk trying this seller next month…

I LOVE the SIDECAR MOUTHPIECE. I've always wanted a sidecar, this is my first one, I'm in love. It give such a better view of what's happening in the can.

Frankly, I think every piece needs to be sidecar! New industry standard! :p:brow:

Functionally, it makes SO much more sense than the regular mouthpiece. Being able to actually watch the perc (without having to lug a mirror and frankly I'm a bit scared of mirrors... yah too many scary movies) has opened a whole new experience to me. Usually, I'd buy a piece, probably hit it in the bathroom mirror a few times to actually look at the perc I shelled out an extra $100 for, and never see it again

Sidecars have made my glass addiction THAT MUCH WORSE  (I guess it's a good thing sidecars aren't the standard or I'd be broke... even with $30 pieces :D)

Plus, if you're a cloud chaser, a sidecar will give the best view to control your draw. Thick clouds virtually everytime... my draws are perfect now!
