my wife already laughs at me for the phallic shape of the mouthpiece on my Molino bubbler (old combusting piece). What will she say if I pull out the D020-W???

The W's mouthpiece isn't THAT phallic...its more of a snake head shape.

Put some googly eyes on it and get one of these domes to really sell the look:

Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately?) the most appealing sidecar I've seen is the jhanpixel showerhead, and at $150 it's not exactly an impulse buy. This Chinese glass has spoiled me

Good news guys. Yingmin has come through and the 189 is in my hands. I can't open it just yet but will report back in a while, hopefully with some good news

EDIT: Bad news guys Yingmin has sent me the wrong model. It should have been the 189 but instead I got the 188. This sucks for me because it is an oil rig with a male joint. I can't even use it as I lack the necessary attachments and/or materials right now (although I am planning a full blown qwet run this weekend )

I have messaged Yingmin. It will be interesting to see how he replies. I believe it was just a simple mistake but how he responds will be a good indication of he may respond to similar issues in the future.

I don't do dabs and I don't even own any lighters so I don't know what I am going to do with this thing. In terms of the glass it looks perfect as far as I can tell. I've tested it with water and the action is acceptable from what I can tell. I really can't be bothered packing up and sending back a $40 bubbler. What if I tell him I will keep it and pay him $20 for 189. That sounds fair to me. I have not opened a Paypal dispute as yet. I have a feeling it will be unnecessary. Maybe he sells lighters and I can learn how to do dabs.

i ordered a gb-189 and got a gb-188 instead, goddamn. thankfully with the lotus WPA and some silicone i can macgyver an adapter. but how much water do you put into this 188??? seems i have to have the water close to the bottom top as well as above the honeycomb for it to function. can any honeycomb experts chip in? I have to say though that the glass quality is very nice. i'm very tempted by get more of the GBs from yingmin5.

mr gweilo, reckon it'd be worth my while to try and get a gb-189 (though i think it could be out of stock?) like u did?

Pros: Tons of diffusion. Extremely smooth pull. Zero drag. Thick quality glass all the way around and again no flaws. Brand name quality. It is a tricky piece as I explain in the cons below, but once you get it working right it is great. I will have to upload a video of this because it is hard to explain what I discuss in the cons below.
Cons: It is not your traditional recycler design. It doesn't vortex/whirpool/cyclone. I knew this from the picture because it does not have a large enough recycling chamber, but I wanted it anyways. So after finding the perfect water level, which is fairly tricky, I have grown to love this piece. So what happens is the bottom stereo matrix causes some bubbles to go up through the honeycomb, but other bubbles go up the mouthpiece tube/recycling chamber. I see this as a natural perc so instead of a stereo matrix to honeycomb it is kind of like a stereo matrix to natural perc to honeycomb lol.

God-diddly-damn it now I want that really bad...

@Frederick McGuire hey mate. Just wondering if you have any idea about what the correct water level should be on the gb-189 in regards to the turbine?

I've never had a purely turbine piece, so I'm not really sure...
My first guess would be approx 5mm above the turbine, and then I'd raise or lower it a bit based on water tests until I got the desired functionality out of it.

I prefer closed mouthpieces like the W, especially after a few days with the 186's gigantor open mouthpiece. As odd as it sounds, my jaw actually gets a bit tired from having to "pucker" my lips to fit the bong style mouthpieces. Maybe I'm just weird in this regard...

The eagle has landed! My 186 just showed up. Unboxed it, gave it a once over, put a little water in it and pulled through it just to see how it works and its in a PBW bath now.

My percs are slightly tilted as well but it doesnt appear to effect operation. One thing I can tell you is you cant run the water level of this pipe at the top of the top perc. You need to run it slightly lower.

It stacks like crazy and other than the VERY slightly tilted perc, it seems to be quality construction. Looks like another winner. I will be putting it through its paces tonight and see if I can get Mrs Poopmachine to help me make a video.

I'm filling the 189 same as where you are, just about level with the perc, maybe a tiny bit above it. When you inhale, the water separates and there's water, air pocket, perc, water, then bubbles on top. Mine does roar when you clear, very throaty, much moreso than my D020-D.

@Ratchett maybe pick up the 188 or 189, they are not the birdcage perc, but quality affordable sidecars nonetheless.

The D020 is still the best bargain in my quiver. I love this thing.

I wish the can was a little bigger.. that's really my only complaint from initial observations. Ill pull it out of the PBW bath in a few hours and snap some pictures.

I will say that pulling through it with the slide in, you could run the water much higher due to the restriction but youd have to ease off on the clear or youd end up with a mouthful of bong water.

Percs all seem to fire according to how the stereo matrix does. I don't know how to shoot in slow-mo but you can see the similar "bubble" effect from the perc that the legit stereo produces.

Build quality looks good to great. No cracks or anything that I can see. The mouthpiece is slightly off center from the tube but stands up straight. The percs aren't straight either but are only slightly tilted. Doesn't seem to affect performance either.
All in all, looks like a winner from yingmin

My 187 is here!! May post some pics later, but I dunno if they'll add much to what's already been posted (edit: pics below)

The good:

• Came without a logo just like I asked
• Can volume is a nice step up from the D020
• Perc is straight and all slits appear to fire evenly
• Weld between can and mouthpiece is clean
• As has been reported before, the joint is slightly recessed; however, my 14/18 adapter fits in it just fine, so no big deal

The less than good:

• Some tooling marks toward the top of the can
• Bottom of the can is slightly thicker on one side than the other (same goes for the base)
• Mouthpiece is slightly, although visibly, tilted (to the right if you were taking a hit)
• Weld between joint and can is mostly clean, but there's one or two small bubbles/imperfections (same goes for the weld between the bottom of the perc and the can)

All of the "less than good" issues listed above are pretty insignificant - nothing that should deter any future purchases. It's a sturdy functional piece, and you've gotta inspect it pretty closely to really notice the "flaws." Overall I am VERY pleased and it's well worth $46.

The bubbler looks very very good for $46.6 shipped
Perc is airier/looser than an Ion or a Clear, Möbius is Möbius and the Matrix is fizzier/smoother than any knock off, but for $46.6 it's way better than I expected.
If someone is on the verge, do not hesitate, for the price, it's hard to get any better...
I own a Möbius Clear Matrix and some others, I tried the Ion, the Stereo Matrix, Sov's Peyote Pillar, Mothership Fabberges and etc etc , I tried almost all of PhotoRider's amazing glass pipe collection, but, this little guy here, it's pretty cool for the $

got the 187 in over all pretty pleased. Don't see any cracks, mp is pretty straight, the perc is mostly straight on this one, seems to fire evenly. The mouthpiece weld looks much nicer than the one in the stock picture. The base is a nice thickness/weight/width. Oh and I got no logo (thanks!!) My only major complaint is the wobbly weld around the 18mm dewar joint. So far my reducer + O ring seems to make a good enough seal so it's not really a deal breaker, but very very sloppy weld for a point that needs to be sound and airtight. Over all if feels solidly built, just as others have reported. The mouthpiece has a decent size flare too. I'm pretty happy with the function of it, though when put side by side with the 20-D, it actually has a slight bit more drag. Here's some pics and vids, I did a side by side water perc test with the 20-D so you guys and gals on the fence have something to compare.

That was my first impression. But after the water looses it's freshness, it no longer stacks that high.

So as long as you hit it easier on the first couple pulls, you shouldn't get anymore mist, at least that was my experience on my 3rd session. Need more testing, .

I actually prefer it with a lil' more water over the perc, it adds a bit of resistance so you can guage some feedback on how much water you are moving.

Same here. I haven't ran into a Sunshinestore piece yet that has as sloppy welds on the dewwar joint so I was quite surprised.

$8.99 shipped Claisen adapters on Ebay are not exactly the same, but certainly cheaper than he PV 'buddy", plus you have to find a plug separately:

@tiukauleh I'm not so sure about the water level on the 188 as I have not been able to use it. I don't do torch/nail style dabs and I can't locate an adapter shipped to my location for a reasonable price. But absolutely contact Yingmin. We resolved the issue very easily. I suggested I keep the 188 and pay $20 for the 189 and he accepted. Actually, I just put in an order for the 186 and and a titanium nail with him as well. I'm confident he will help you in some way
