I have this piece & use it with an ashcatcher. I really like it. Only a small amount of draw resistance. Made very well; thick glass.

Actually all of those Seed of Life pieces from CCG look awesome. I have another smaller SOL piece from CCG that I like too. Been eyeing off one of these but a little pricey for China. Still the past quality CCG has delivered is reassuring;

They use some US (?) coloured glass, look at the prices of US glassblowers for coloured glass pieces and compared to those prices they are still cheap.
Only a bit of more expensive raw glass can't cause such a price jump. Maybe I'm wrong but I don't know the buisiness.

I haven't used a Solo, but I agree with @ataxian that the D020 is a great first glass piece for vaping. It is big enough to cool the vapor but small enough to be easy to manage. It has a fairly basic perc that shouldn't rob all of the flavor. And it's cheap.

I read it as USA made colored glass that its made from. Much cheaper, I think, with Chinese colored glass but not the same variety or quality AFAIK.
