Cheap High Quality Bubbler

I just want to share my experience with seller glassartist. About 2 months ago I placed an order with glassartist for 3 dabbucino's and a mini recycler. They were shipped in a timely manner and would have made it to my house in about a week. However, the package was never delivered and I assumed it was lost after a week or so of being "in transit" by USPS. I contacted USPS and they told me it was most likely lost and to file a claim which went nowhere since the package had no insurance on it. I thought I was screwed out of the pieces but contacted glassartist to see what could be done. I explained to him what happened and he said he would ship out another package. Awesome. I waited a week or so and asked for a tracking number. he responded with asking me to confirm my address. I thought it was weird that he would wait for me to ask about the package and that he waited a week without re-shipping the package, but it was not his fault the package was lost and I was thankful to be getting what I had already paid for. I confirmed that it was the correct address. He said he would ship it that day. a few days later I asked him for a tracking number and he said he would ship it that day. ughhh. ok whatever. About a week after that I asked him again for the tracking number. He said he would check into it and never got back to me. The next day I told him I need a tracking number or a refund. He told me he had already sent it and would get me the tracking number in one second. He never got back to me. a few days go by with no response from him, so I contacted dhgate to mediate the situation. after that Glassartist sent me a message asking to tell dhgate that the issue is resolved and he would send out the package. lol.

Im not trying to throw Glassartist under the bus, as I'm sure plenty of people have had plenty of good experiences and pieces from him. I just wanted to relay the experience that I had with him. He was very unprofessional and flat out lied to me numerous times.

Thanks for the info @Dubekoms
We need to know who's going to give us a straight deal and who's going to jerk us around - otherwise we're just shooting in the dark.
Seller called Glamorous is one I shall not be doing business with again.
(I really hope that these sellers drop by here occasionally for some direct feedback.)
Also, the situation appears to be fluid. One straight deal does not provide any long-term guarantees as to a seller's trustworthiness.
Have an order in atm with new seller called Senyoglass420. No tracking info. A shot in the dark.

I placed an order with headshop420. Have not seen any feedback here about them so I will update when I have some more news about them.

And yes, one good transaction unfortunately does not mean anything.

Sup cats! Been a while. Took a weed break for a year. Life happens. Anyway back to vaping now.

Any experience with this seller or piece? It looks really cool...

Just wanted to mention... This came pretty fast, wrapped decent and in perfect condition. Really pretty piece. Hits like a fricken worthless paperweight. Top chamber water pulls down to the bottom every hit. Lame. But the seller is good, fast.

@SnidelyWhiplash - as you say it's a lovely looking piece - pity about the function.

I
've got a fab egg on order from the same vendor: senyoglass420, so I'm slightly reassured by your post.
the seller is good, fast.
Not so much a shot in the dark anymore - more a shot in foggy twilight.

The seller's carrying a bunch of nice glass actually, so I hope he makes it onto our 'trusted (within limits)' list.
I'll keep you posted.

I've bought quite a few bongs from DHgate and have had only a couple of issues. Mostly late shipping (waited almost 3 months for one recent delivery) but I find if you have a seller who is acting unprofessional file a claim with DHgate. I've done it with 2 sellers I no longer deal with and it gets the job done. Within days I get all sort of apologies and a "magic" new tracking number that actually tracks my order. I'm not looking for freebies all I want is what I paid for. If it's gonna take a month or two before it's deliverd than just say so. By getting bad reviews you can greatly impact their buisness and I always read the reviews on new sellers if I see too much bullshit going on I move on to the next seller. I've bought stuff before from glassartist and I never had any issues but I will think twice before giving him anymore of my buisness. Thanx Dubekoms for the heads-up...;)
CHEAP is good when you do this:

I discovered DHgate during the holiday thanks to this thread and decided to order three pieces:
D020D from Sunshine, FC-1000 from Steven and a took a chance on a 2 layer arm perc bubbler from an unknown here.

The D020D arrived today.

Ordered 01/04
Shipped 01/05
Delivered 01/13 in Canada

My daily driver for the past 2.5 years has been the Sublimator with a DG fritted disk bubbler, so I was excited to try a new piece.

Here are few comparison photos:

Considering the price difference this is a wonderful piece of glass. Stellar service from sunshine store too. No defect that I could find, carefully packaged and shipped very quickly. A bit smaller than I thought, I think the FC-1000 will be the perfect fit.

I can see myself using the D020D with my Mighty around the house or outside during Summer.

Great little find, thanks FC.

I think people in the 'global west' lie just as much, but typically not straight to your face as is common in Chinese business and mercantilism. The difference is they (and their peers/colleagues) think it's perfectly ok to lie shamelessly and voraciously about an obvious untruth, at least until you aggressively call them on it and refuse to oblige. Even then they may stick to their lies, especially with regard to these online purchases where they already have your money and you've resorted to mediation from DHgate customer service.

Stevenlmz79 is just that sort of vendor, and they effectively stole $$ from me as well as a friend I referred. He and his alter-ego Jane offer nice designs but they ship defective/broken/chipped items regularly and try to get away with it. My advice is always buy with a credit card that you can easily refuse charges on, and don't lose your right to refuse the shipment by participating in the DHgate dispute-resolution farce.

I'm very sorry to hear this!

All my devices are from Steven. Never had any problems. Very good proeceeded devices. CS was top. Delivery quick, shipping costs very low and w/o custom/taxes in the EU. Have made 5 orders at Steven and all were going fine.
But - shit happens everywhere.

Stephen gets good reviews here - until now. Never used him but here's some feedback:

Good deal from volcanee02 but it was only an adaptor.

Two good deals from cleanclearglass. On one they sent the wrong (but a more expensive) piece.
On being notified they immediately sent me the correct one, express, and told me to keep the wrong one.

One good deal from paramountglass. @ramram , who bought an identical piece, was very happy #23277
However, @Baron23 was not happy with CS #23332

I cannot recommend glamorous. Had a poor deal and the offer of discount on my next order proved worthless.

It's a roll of the dice - every time you order. Question is: is it worth it? And that's the question that started this thread off almost 5 years ago (we should celebrate in March).
My answer is yes! For now.

Just figured I'd drop in while were talking about vendors who have solid reps but are being shady/sketchy lately, according to a couple people over at /r/chinaglass Kathy0577 sent them broken pieces and then stopped selling the item instead of refunding/replacing.

I also feel morally obligated to make the criticism that our perception that Asians/Easterners are "dishonest" as compared to Anglo/Westerners is probably ingrained into our minds from centuries of orientalism (book not art).

a week ago my order from sunshine DH gate arrived, lots of bubblewrap layer later i found my D 020d waterpiece, i was in love with the bubbles, its a treat and would definitely recommend it for vapor since it has lots of diffusion and a short travel path for the vaper to lose its 'freshness'. since this piece has passed the revue here quit often i don't see it necessary to post pics, you all have one by now ;)
Now I am on the look out for a sweet 14mm reducer, but if you really think about it, aren't we all bubblers bubbling through live looking for that special 14 mm reducer in our lives? I might have been using it to much ;) ...

Just a quick feedback: received this last week, it's my first piece from dhgate. Shipping took around one month to the EU, packaging was excellent and everything was intact. There are some minor flaws, expecially regarding the weldings but the overall quality is excellent, the glass is clear and thick and the piece looks sturdy. The slits on the matrix perc are cut really clean and spaced evenly, I'm pretty impressed by it. The only thing that affects the function a bit is the slightly crooked downstem that doesn't make the perc fire evenly. Anyway I don't really like it as I prefer a bigger volume and to be able to see the vapor filling the can while I draw but the matrix downstem works great in my bigger bubbler. After this experience I will definitely order again from Steven, anyone has a suggestion for a bigger piece with a removable mouthpiece?

In pure terms of quality I received from Kathy, that was the lowest quality vendor.
Stephen has been good. I received one bad piece. I knew the piece was bad when I ordered as I stated here. I complained afterwards even though it was my fault, and Stephen gave me a 5% discount on my next order. Not much, but still, didn't have to do anything considering I was just being my typical whiny self.

That is one vendor (Kathy0577) I will not deal with again. I purchased a rig that took well over 2 months to arrive and it felt like it was made from paper mache. Very poor quality and sits uneven (wobbles on a flat surface). I've been using it strictly for flowers when I'm at a party (if it breaks oh well...) the other seller who was on both iOffer and DHgate (clothingcn aka Rocky) and talk about a flim-flam artist. I placed my order Aug 24 and didn't recieve it until Nov 15. and that was after 3 phony tracking numbers he gave me. Rig was supposed to be 14mm female joint but instead was a 18mm male joint. I don't think nationality has anything to do with being a shady operation (dealt with enough of those right here in the USA). I love shopping on DHgate for glass we in the FC community have to watch out for each other. Shit happens / mistakes happen I think we all know & understand this but no one should be taken advantage of...

A new piece from DHgate has arrived, this time from paramountglass.

Ordered 01/04
Shipped 01/07
Delivered 01/16 in Canada

Took on a chance on this:
http://www.dhgate.com/product/glass-water-pipes-12-arms-perc-blue-glass/384013273.html

It arrived well packaged and was shipped in a timely manner but not wicked fast (compared to sunshine store).

The piece itself arrived with no damage. About 5 arms are not straight. The percolator in the mouthpiece has fewer slits in it than showed in the photo on the product page. Aside from that the piece looks nice.

Functionally, it's my first pillar piece and I was not impressed. I actually coughed on my first try, forcing me to reduce heat on my sublimator to 7. I don't remember feeling even the tingling of a cough with my fritted disk even if I am milking 0.3 on setting 8 (top flower heat setting).

Function video (sideways so I could get both chambers, will re-do later when the FC-1000 arrives):

Christmas keeps arriving in this household. Mailman brought another gift today.

The now famous FC-1000 from Steven.

Ordered 01/04
Shipped 01/07
Delivered 01/17 in Canada

First reaction when I opened the package: this is a big piece. See comparison photos with my rooster piece and the D020-D below. Had a small dent on the top, won't affect function. Pillars are straight. Nice wielding.
Carefully packaged (double boxed) and shipped in a timely manner.

A function video: I experimented with water levels and less water works better for me. With the amount of water in this video there was too much drag for my taste. A bit above the bottom perc seems to work best for me.

I got one final piece (fritted disk) coming from sunshine. Then I think my GAS will be satiated for some time. None of my new pieces will replace my daily driver, but thanks to China, not an expensive lesson, and I will still get use out of them.

Drain well? Huh? I have the Ftk. I like it. I think the dcycler so far has been the strongest recycling function design I've gotten out of china. It's too smooth of a hit.

I think my Ftk fab is a little loud but I don't think about that ever.

This may be of interest if you're thinking of ordering from DHGate during the next 3-4 weeks.

It's the Chinese New Year - a very big event in the Chinese calendar.
Looks like it goes like this:
12 to 26 Jan - workers travel home.
28th is the New Year's Day.
15th of Feb - date most stores will reopen.

I'm not sure exactly what this means for buyers - possibly little or nothing - but it's probably best to message the vendor and ask them how the holiday will affect dispatch and delivery.
