@digigator - do you think it's worth the price tag? Your review/video had me totally sold until I saw that I could buy nearly any piece I wanted on DHG for the same $, give out take five bucks.
I think it's worth it. A few reasons why:
1. It's thickness/weight, the extra material cost and shipping fees should be considered. I can hold this piece by the neck and smack a hater up side the head and I'm confident the piece would stay in tact. Can't say the same about the FC-710, the FC straight fab possibly.
2. The craftsmen ship on the details. Ie, where the joint goes into the piece is smooth, straight, not wobbly base, no bubbles, polished finish (no roughness to the feel). I've gotten some mix of these traits from other sellers, but not all at once.
3. A personal reason, it's small, there are some pieces which I'd pay more for a nice smaller version because I prefer smaller rigs for dabs.
I have a Pelican 1120 for my Sokol which I've confirmed would fit this perfectly, going to order another pelican from Amazon.
In this price range, I think you're looking at:
1. Straight fab, fair contender, comes down to personal preference on design.
2. Steven's Torus, fair contender, but I think the Torus is more for combustion with how large it is.
3. Steven's Mini, included this because it's a smaller travel piece. I prefer a banger's seal to a bucket any day. I had the V1, not sure if maybe the V2 is better, but I doubt it, you can never get a perfect seal with a bucket cap with the swing arm where it is.
4. Not sure what else to compare it to, not many quality mini rigs coming out of china.
