Cheap High Quality Bubbler

Still waiting on Steven to actually ship/update my tracking for the straight fab. :/
Contacted the other day and got a message from Jane stating it was a holiday and she'd check today... This is definitely the longest I've waited for an order to be processed. All other vendors I've dealt with would have the package through customs by now.

Got antsy and ordered a super cheap but good looking straight fab from an untested vendor. It looks much like CCG's straight fab, minus the honeycomb, with a perc similar to steven's straight fab, a female joint, and without the extra rings on the neck. It's pretty much exactly what I wanted the CCG straight fab to be. Am expecting to be disappointed, due to the fact that the vendor has 0 transactions and the price was suspiciously low, but I'm hoping to be pleasantly surprised. I'll report back if it's worth grabbing.

Wonder how long it'll be before Steven is up and running again under a new vendor name (if he's not already). If this straight fab ever gets here and isn't smashed or otherwise a piece of shit, I want to pull the trigger on an FC-1000. Guess I'll just have to wait and see what happens.

Sorry for the noob question. On DHGATE I see all the oil rigs have the "joint" at 18.8mm, and the ones I see here in the US are 18mm. So does that mean I will have to find bowls (joints) that are 18.8mm because 18mm wont fit?

No. The measurement is sometimes referred to as 19mm also. 18mm stuff will be compatible.

FC-1000->Full Size Fab Egg->Straight Fab

I mis-judged the volume from memory, the egg and straight fab probably have about the same volume...

I have the Ccg fab egg.
I can't really reccomend it...

I was one of the first people to order it from ccg, and got one with a terrible pinhole perc (it would clog after like 3 dabs :()
I contacted them and eventually got a replacement with a proper slitted showerhead.
The replacement came and the brace was broken (I had the same issue with another egg from another seller, and it lead to a snapped downstem pretty quickly :()
I've just noticed that the original egg now has the exact same cracked support too...
The exact same issue in 3 pieces from 2 different stores...

Function wise it's on point though, but I've had some very poor QC/customer service issues with ccg for a long time now...
It's weird how some stores seem to continually screw over the same people while being great for most others...

Steven,
Kathy, and
CleanClearGlass...

They seem to be great for most people, and repeatedly crappy for a random few...
Odd...

I think most people went for the cnmen egg, and the sunshine one looks nice.

I'm thinking I'm going to sell the 2 ccg eggs for a bit cheaper than the SSS egg and upgrade to that one, as I hear it's the largest :brow:

Thanks for the upload. I assumed the Fc1000 would be a little large for a vapor tube but hey it's all personal preference. Bet it would go perfect with a Sublimator. What makes you like it the most? The flavor it retains? Is it similar to a SG Pillar by any chance? Haha.....

I hate hearing that the straight fab is the worse of them

Anyone tried the Pulse Glass gridded inline recycler? mouthpeice looks like it would restrict some air flow but that's just a guess from looking

Haha, it's all good. It's just that the FC-1000 (And all the models on dhgate starting with "FC" AFAIK) was designed/modified by us here at FC, so Vaping of some kind is generally it's intended purpose

I've never hit an SG pillar, but from the looks of it it seems to function pretty similarly :)

I wouldn't say it's a particularly good for flavour...
My personal preferences for glass pieces generally are low drag, high diffusion.

The fc-1000 is low drag (not as low as just a straight matrix perc, but probably comparable to the stereo matrix? I'd need to do some more side by side testing to confirm :science:), and fairly high diffusion.

I'd been itching for a nice extra large piece for a few months after getting heaps of little rigs from dhgate, and the FC-1000 has filled that niche very well :)
I wouldn't expect everyone to like it as much as I do, But I could pretty easily have it as a "one-and-only" piece (though my clear mobius matrix is still my true "one-and-only" piece
myprecious.png
)

EDIT:
The straight fab is by no means shabby, I just kinda prefer the design of the egg...
IMO the straight fab should be a little larger (lol that feels like my catchphrase in this thread), and the fab section should come down a little closer to the perc...

Hahaha matrix percs are pretty difficult to beat

I agree on that I wish the fab was lower. It would require less water which creates less drag.

I feel larger pieces used for vapor create a more air:vapor ratio and therefore your intaking less pure vapor than you would from a smaller peice. But idk that's just my thoughts on that. And once again it's mostly all about personal preference

Yeah I wonder when he's gonna be back. He had the A1 items.

Oh thats pretty cool. I didnt know that!! Thanks for the info!

I know i love my FC-187. Broke one, got another immediately. I gifted a (USA made) bong worth 4 times as much to a lady that didnt have any glass because i hadnt used it since i got the FC-187.

I use it for vapor and combusting. Just a great piece at a great price. I have the first version with a little wonky perc... but it still fires great IMO and bubbles stack to the top in use... The only water piece i own, or need..... But i still like coming here checking out all the toys you guys get!!

Jane from Steven's store contacted me today to inform me that DHG suspended their account for a week (she didn't share why, my guess would be all the fake tracking numbers they were sending out) and that Steven is working on getting the suspension repealed.

Ack! That's like peas and mashed potatoes for me. No mixing allowed. Combustion just stains a piece so quickly with that ashtray flavor.

I love to mix my peas and mashed taters!! Sometimes mix a little ketchup or steak sauce in there, too.

It's glass! If you keep your stuff pretty clean, and know how to clean it well after combusting (or doing dabs or hash through it) no flavors - ashtray or otherwise - will linger at all. IME, glass doesn't really stain other than hard water deposits, and think that is more of an etching kind of thing.

so my tracker for my D020 from sunshine store finally updated and looks like its almost here... it says attempted delivery... does that mean someone needs to sign for it? Also shows a time stamp 7:37 which can't be EST so do they use a diff time zone for tracking?

CCG posted a vid of their torus finally. Looks like they nailed it for the most part, but the drain doesn't seem as restricted/slow as the mothership/stevens copy. Probably won't make much difference in actual use. Also looks to have a smaller volume than stevens which is nice.

they need to make the drain hole smaller at the bottem for better cyclone spin and its funny watching the videos and him describing it.

Looks like a slow vortex drain on that thing..... No thanks. I'll pass

It's funny how opinions differ on the appropriate drain speed of the torus knockoffs.
Looks like this is the torus for you Ratchett. ;)
I love how CCG signs off every video with the phrase "highly recommended."

Personally I think I'd prefer the CCG torus to Steven's, largely due to CCG's ability to quickly replace broken or faulty pieces without playing games with discounts and other bullshit when the customer clearly deserves a new piece. With CCG it's as simple as paying an extra ~$1 so he can provide a tracking number. You probably don't even have to finalize the second payment, but I did since I ended up with 2 functional eggs for essentially the price of 1. I've been lucky in that the crack in the first piece hasn't gotten any worse, so I use it as my occasional combustion rig.

Hmm, so it looks like I'm stuck between FC-710 and the straight fab from Steven (correct?)

Also, is it worth me looking into a mini tube and a 45deg. banger for on the go?

Edit: Are people generally underwhelmed by the cnmengglass egg? $42.62 isn't bad at all for it, seeing as it claims to ship in 48hrs. Also, does anyone know if I can use a debit/credit card with a separate delivery address or does billing/delivery have to be the exact same?
I just got the cmeng egg errr bout 4-5 days ago. I like it. Been only dabbing with it though. It shipped super fast. I got mines in 7days lol.

for 40 bucks less its probably the safer choice
