Cheap High Quality Bubbler

Aftter some good use last night , here is what I have discovered about stevens torus.

This piece is well built , craftsmanship is on par with usa glass as there are virtualy any flaws and all the joints are welded really clean . Im not even joking when I say this piece is better constructed than most of my mobius pieces I own. Also to my surprise, It actually vortexs really , really nicely.

The one thing that kills my desire to use this piece as a daily driver is the perc.
As MGG said in the post above , it works well when dry firing but add a nail , vape , or a bowl ( not that I would ever combust ) and it only fires from 1 hole due to the restriction.

Not only are the holes not lined up evenly, I have come to realize that I think the perc is just to big to displace all that water in it and have it fire evenly. In order to get all the holes to fire you need to pull super hard. If the perc was smaller , similiar to the mothership style , and fired from a bunch of slits ( ex. showerhead , matrix perc ) this would be a 10/10

cliff notes

Pros - ( Pretty much everything about this piece except the style of perc )

- Thick , heavy and sturdy all around , feels and looks like high end usa glass.
- Very symmetrical and virtually flawless craftsmanship
- Vortex is beautiful ( near perfect ) when dry firing

Cons - ( the only con is the perc )

-Perc is to big and doesnt allow for the proper water displacement to get all 6 holes to fire.
-Perc being to big and only firing from one whole make sit extremely chuggy.

It seems as if the person making / designing this piece onlytested function without restriction.

I cant reccomend this piece to anyone until the perc is refined , but once they get that right I will be ordering another one for sure.

Sunshinestore just posted 13 inch eggs with 18mm female joints. A tad pricier though at $77.

This looks good but i think the Egg should be bigger lose some of the neck.

wow on the second look I noticed that this egg is very different in design than any of the other eggs I've seen on dhgate, though it's hard to say that any o these features are improvements or not. The drains on this version are very wide so I'm very curious as to how this will function. Also the stem looks welded to the tube and I only noticed this on the 400 dollar dhgate eggs. all in all very interesting. I want to see a video lol.

Thanks for that Nimbus. Was gonna get it to try with the Solo but I guess the restrictions gonna be too much for it :(

My cheap fab egg from Cmengglass just hit NYC, hopefully it's in my hands by the weekend.
Just got my cmengglass Fab Egg in today. http://www.dhgate.com/product/two-f...g/237527726.html#myaccount_orderdetail-1-null

Best out of all of them so far IMO. Nice large showerhead which hits so smooth. Only needs the tiniest bit of water so it's great for dabs, lots of flavour. Glass seems thick and the base is too. Plus it was the cheapest egg I have bought I think, maybe Kathy's is a similar price, I can't remember.

Anyway here's the obligatory video, judge for yourselves :)

I got the WOL Torus which uses the same perc/design, had the same issue with it.

I find with my Herbalizer I have to pull hard to see any vortex. This won't be my daily driver for sure.

I have been meaning to post a video of my WOL 12 inch Torus piece. Compared to all my other glass from china, it is by far the nicest piece and had a very nice heavy feel to it. The holes and such are perfect and there is nothing crooked or off about it. I went with the 12 inch version after reading someone else commenting about the 12 inch version being much nicer. I only use it with an Enail setup and have nothing bad to say other than it takes a little lung power to get this going if you put too much water in it. I will get you guys an in action video soon. I have not used the non WOL version, but from the sounds of the comments. I went the right route on this one

I received my Torus today as well (not from Steven, from another seller that only had 2 in stock but it's the same one and it was only $55 and it came with a ceramic nail and silicon jar).

Glad I only spent $55 because like everyone else is saying, the quality is the best I have ever received. Straight and symmetrical everything. One tiny bubble at the joint weld. That's it. And the base is the thickest I've yet to receive. 15mm thick :freak: this thing could do some serious damage to a thiefs head haha ;)

If the function was there, this piece would be perfect but the function isn't there.

The perc needs more holes and they need to be smaller and possibly higher up in the chamber.

It chugs like no other and is impossible to incycle if using a carb cap.

I'll be keeping it for a while but I'm hoping Steven continues with his first torus design because that one should function a million times better.

EDIT: I've had 2 dabs out of this thing and the taste is excellent. The few large holes provide minimal diffusion. It's nice and the chug is different for a change which is cool. I just wish it stacked bubbles better and could incycle better. Hopefully a V2 will be made and will fix the function issue.

Got some good news and some bad news.

First the bad news.

The honeycomb to 4 hole donut/egg? Arrived broken. I could tell that the joint support was cold welded like the first batch of Kathy eggs. No way it was going to hold up in shipping. It was packaged really well though. The piece itself looks awesome and the glass is decently thick. The honeycomb is right about the intake hole so it shouldn't have much of that natural chug that honeycomb pieces do. The base isn't super wide but since the joint is so close to the piece I think it might? Work with an e-nail. Going to contact the seller for either a replacement (if the joint weld issue gets fixed) or a refund.

On a brighter note EVERYONE NEEDS TO GO BUY THIS DOUBLE TREE PERC PIECE FROM YINGMIN. GB-194. 18mm female joint. All slits fire evenly. Insanely smooth pull. The joint weld is wayyyyy thicker than when I bought this same piece a while ago (maybe 1 year ago). 8 arms on the bottom, 12 on the top. 2 slits per arm. 40 slits total. And the best part is, the arms are welded to the bottom and aren't left open like most of the time :D

Hey boogerman,

You convinced me to get the gb 194 from your video and recommendation. Excited to get a $600 piece for a 1/10 of the price. Hopefully, you are still enjoying it.

I have used it every since I have gotten it up until today because I got the torus. I was using it for both flower and concentrates (just switching the drop down). This is rare for me to use a piece for a week in a row like this. I usually use a new piece for a day or two but then it falls into the rotation with the other pieces I have where it won't get used for another month. My gb-194 will be getting used multiple times a month.

It is in my top 5 favorite pieces out of my collection. One of the smoothest hitting and nicest quality pieces I have received.

@Frederick McGuire if you don't have the GB-194 you must buy it. It has the mouthpiece style you like (lips fit inside) and has an 18mm female joint!

got my Pink 9" egg in from CCG. Thankfully it has the showerhead slits on the perc instead of like the pinholes on my 12" clear egg from them. Every slit on the perc fires as well. Very well crafted and doesn't have any flaws (that i have seen thus far).

pics and video coming soon

Just received, cleaned and hit my new Steven TorusKO with my Infinity. Will echo all previous reviewers who were impressed with build quality and glass thickness, this is one well made and sturdy piece. It does take a lot of water to produce the vortex (which is cool and long lasting), which makes the initial draw a harder pull, but I'm strong lunged and the Infinity has very little restriction, so combined it's not an issue for me personally.

Just one bowl in, but I'm pretty happy and will start rotating this with my D022.

My favorite part is the sturdiness, very low tip-over danger.

Have to run but will try to take pics soon when I can do it in the sun. Sorry, can't do video.

Got my green accent dcycler today.
Still use the 1st one I got. Greeny is 1 oz heavier, essentially same size.
The lip is 2mm thicker, base, 1 mm. Height to mp is 5/16" shorter. No way to gauge thickness of initial tubing but it's thicker and better quality glass. Water test, better, longer vortex.

And here's the thing...the glass magnifies the spin and vortex. You can seriously watch your cares drain away.

Glad to hear it has the shower head slits. Can't wait to see your pics and vids! Mine should be in tomorrow or Saturday

I have a 9" Egg as well ordered.
I have my FC 186 and it works unreal with a NANO.
The D022 works well too!
My FC 187 has a larger mouthpiece however works well with a Chillum!
The FC 186 perk is lower and fires well!
Two weeks from order!

Haha, cheers for the tip, I have considered that piece before...

I've already got a double matrix (Purchased from the US) in that toro form factor (the little chamber with a larger chamber above is a Toro thing right?).
It's similar to the one Kathy has, but I like the performance of mine much better than all the reviews I've seen of the kathy one...

I'm generally kinda "meh" regarding tree percs, not too sure why but I'll generally prefer a nice showerhead over a tree...

I do like that the trees are apparently quite well done in the gb-194, and I like the build quality of Yingmins stuff.

I guess the main dealbreakers for me are
1 - no joint support - I'm often leaving my LSV perched atop a cloud buddy attached to my water pieces while I hold them. I'd need joint support on most pieces unless the design looks like it physically cannot fit them in...
And price... $58.53 + $9.09 shipping = $67.62 USD = $85.66 Aussie Dollars
Anything under $50AUD I'll pretty much buy on a whim if anything interests me about the item

Dang that price difference is a bummer.

Since the arms are welded to the bottom and each arm has 2 slits it is really just like a giant Showerhead if you think about it lol.

Yeah the no joint support was a con for me too but it it is pretty damn thick and I don't see it breaking anytime soon. I've used it with a drop down and a titanium nail and a drop down and the e-nano (and solo).

Not sure how heavy the LSV is but I can't imagine it would break the joint.

Out of the 40 or 50 pieces I own (I've kinda stopped counting lol) this one is in my top 5.

It's in my top 3 favorites specifically from dhgate. Perfect for dabs and vape sessions.

Yeah, back when we were discovering the D020 the exchange rate was much better...
As my dollar drops DHgate gets more and more expensive for me :(

It's not so much the weight of the lsv itself, but I'll often leave the whole setup connected while holding it in my hand/on my lap, and it can get a little tippy at times.
So it's more the rotational leverage of a lsv atop a cloud buddy as opposed to just the weight I'm concerned about...
