Cheap High Quality Bubbler

Are there any cheaper beakers like this on dhgate?

http://www.dhgate.com/product/roor-...-smoking-pipe/184028960.html#cart_view-1-null

I've seen one, but the beaker portion is a bit too slanted for me and doesn't look as nice. Or are bubblers better for the vapor? I was looking into the d020, but with a 14mm adapter the total would probably come out to about 40, and I feel like I should just get the beaker if i'm spending 40

It was still less than $40 for my D020 and 18/14 adapter for my tipower nail.

Personally I wouldn't touch any kind of piece anymore like that. Inline downstems to percs are just so much better than the classic downstem IMO.

Less diffusion is always better to retain flavor of the flower.
I agree!

Here's my D020 and my neighbor's rig. He was pleased with it. I messed with the water levels for a few minutes and just couldn't find a sweet spot to where I liked it. But he was so thrilled about it and that it was so cheap came and with a nice ti-nail. He gave me a dab to try on it and I got a good one off it for sure. I'm real glad I passed on that piece for myself and that he was still very happy with it. It's a beautiful piece I really like the way it looks just not something I would want to use. :)

Now as far as the D020 goes...

This thing is amazing! It hits much smoother IMO than my Silika rig and is much more comfortable to use. I don't get discomfort in my chest/lungs off a huge dab like I would on the Silika either. I'm so so happy with this thing. I got into dabbing with oil rigs last December and I feel like I've just been wasting away. The amount my roommate and I have put through it there is already less reclaim than my other rig would have built up. He's really liking the rig too. The 18/14 adapter works perfect with my Ti-Power nail and I thought it'd be awkward but it's actually pretty sexy. I thought heat from the nail hitting your face would be an isssue but it's not. Actually better than my other rig honestly the super bent/curved neck helps tremendously.

Yes that's ISO near the sink. :p I'm reading up on rezblock and PBW. This forum is the shit.

I also recommend looking into getting a cheap bottle of degreaser from your local Dollar Store (Anything that contains 2-Butoxyethanol.). Much much cheaper than ISO and can even be diluted. I use it along with RezBlock (Botanical Choice Cranberry Extract) and my glass has never been cleaner, and label free, :brow:.

Glad your liking the D020.

I personally recommend PBW because it's non-toxic and made for cleaning glass in the production of goods for human consumption (marketed for home-brewery systems)... food safe. No worries about splashing the solution on your dishes in the sink etc. 1 lb tub will last a year. Fold a business card in half or quarters to use as a scooper.

@ataxian What's this one called?

I want to interface it with a SS Vaporblunt I just got :D

Is Simple Green a good one for that? I'll look more and check labels. I work on my car sometimes so it'd be nice to use some for that purpose as a lot of car guys seem to rave about it.

Any suggestions on places to buy it locally? I kinda doubt it'd last a year, I clean pretty religiously. Still I can already see it being way longer lasting than ISO especially paired with some degreaser and rezblock.

I don't wanna get too OT here. I know this is a fuck combustion but I cannot WAIT to get my YQ-42 and put some amazing flowers through it. I'm going to dab rig it first though for shits and grins. I combust maybe a little over a quarter a month so I'm getting better compared to the half O/week I was smoking earlier this year.

Local micro-brewery supply would be your only hope for real PBW I think. YMMV but one teaspoon every few days in my D020 keeps it nice (cranberry extract as well) until the pink goes cloudy. I should clarify I think my tub will last me a year at this rate with only this piece, roughly 5 dabs a day. Cheers!

The ASH COLLECTOR you circled
It's from Kathy 57 on dhgate web site.
I love this one because I can fit a mouth piece to my liking.

I use to collect cars!
For glass I always use something else.
Cars are cars and water pipes are water pipes. I never mix the two?

Should be easy to find out here then, thanks.

EEEEEEE just tracked the YQ-42 again and it's in San Francisco! :D

MAYBE TOMORROW! That would be epicly fast but I'm banking on it'll get here Monday. :)

I'm bored at work and I need to do something about this GAS you guys have given me! I told the neighbor I wanted to start ordering 2-3 at a time and honestly keep the one I like the best and sell the others and he said he's totally down and will give me money anytime I put an order in. So the plan is to order 3 on this next one, flip one to the neighbor and flip the other on craigslist or get my roommate to buy HIS OWN dab rig so I don't have to leave mine in the living room 24/7. ;)

Is there any way possible we could get a mod edit on the 1st post on page 1? Idk it'd be nice to have a quick guide put together with buying on dhgate so people like me don't have to constantly ask questions. :p

It'd also be nice to have links to all the sellers and other misc. info to people new to buying this glass. I'd be more than happy to put something together if a mod could edit the post.

The mods have been trying to figure out the best way to compile information for these mega-threads, there has been some suggestion of a "best of" to highlight the best posts for a thread (flagged by fellow members) Sadly there are limitations of the software and a solution has yet to found.

I've got a $23 credit for DHgate I'm holding until I find something I REALLY want. Scoured DHgate from top to bottom this past week and haven't seen anything that perks my interest. Could it be, is my GAS slowing down?? Not really, I simply can't afford the nicer quality pieces I now crave!

So, this arrived yesterday. http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-BLUE-18...847?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item25932d03ff

It seems the slits are just too high up the side of the perc. Oh well, one complete bust out of 4 or 5 isn't too bad...

So, apparently the vendor is going to give me a refund on this piece. So, I guess I will just go ahead and get the D022 after all. Anyone have a link handy? ;)

Edit: Nevermind, found it. http://www.dhgate.com/product/d022-height-10-5-quot-double-chamber-glass/184395777.html#s1-3-7|1027765195

Pricier than it used to be but still reasonable.

I personally recommend PBW because it's non-toxic

PWB it works, safe and cheap!

PBW contains Sodium Metasilicate, if you look at the MSDS sheet, it is listed under HAZARDOUS INGREDIENTS.

And according to ehow:

"Toxicity Classification
  • Sodium silicate is a corrosive substance and exposure to it is harmful. Toxic effects are hypothetical and based on exposure time and concentration. According to the Pesticides Action Network (PAN) Pesticides Database, it is not known if sodium silicate carries carcinogenesis potential. Because it is corrosive, it is possible to suffer from sodium silicate poisoning. Therefore, if exposure is chronic, it could be considered toxic. The effects vary considerably based on the amount an individual is exposed to. According to the International Programme on Chemical Safety, "there are no relevant toxicological analyses for this chemical.”

Read more : http://www.ehow.com/about_6390502_sodium-silicate-toxicity.html"

So I wouldn't exactly call it safe. Simple Green makes the same claim but I don't believe them, "Effective, non-toxic, non-flammable, biodegradable and non-abrasive." on their label. I stopped using PBW because it leaves behind white residue and requires hot water and to be mixed to be effective. Mean Green comes in a spray able bottle and only takes a few squeezes of the trigger.

Is Simple Green a good one for that? I'll look more and check labels.

Yup, that would be it. I was using SG but couldn't handle the smell anymore so I switched to Mean Green. It does work great for detailing cars, just be careful around leaving it on paint for long time, it is a solvent.

Thank you for the rebuke!
So my cleaning afterwards with a citrus dip and reverse osmosis rinse it unacceptable?
Looks like I'm back to white vinegar and baking soda!

I have a better idea. Start a new thread called "dhgate glass" and put links to all current favorites out there. If it needed to be updated later with new pieces, you could just PM me an update OP and I'll paste it in for you.

Whaddya think?
