Hey @ataxian Check out my new ash-catcher! Haven't been able to find this model anywhere online with the fat base, so I finally bought it at my LHS. I'm sure it exists on DHgate or AE, but I have yet to find it

I talked them down $5 because of the shoddy construction (bad welds, bubbles in blue weld on female side). Still I'm digging the piece even though I paid $50. It's PERFECT viewing for the Lotus when paired with the Grav Labs J-hook. Glass looks thin - maybe 2 or 3 mil, but I like the wide base, haven't seen that on many cheap ash catchers.

And with the 12 arms, there's literally TOO much diffusion! The vapor is so smooth, I almost loose all the flavor! When paired with my D020-W, it's an awesome reclaim setup. The reclaim flavor is almost enjoyable flavor, almost.....

She chuggs so smooth I can't even tell it's working unless I watch the bubbles. Sometimes I swear I have the water level too low because I can't feel that "purr" of the percs

I had a glass plug come today in the wrong size from AE (or actually someone named Matthew Ch). Is AE as good as DHgate in making sure the client is happy? Is disputing the transaction the correct way forward? Chats understandably are silent at this time of day but I may not be around when they are...

Edit: I see that the transaction needs to be finished like DHgate, so I'm sure this will go ok, if slow. ;)

I love that ac and I know @ou812 did too! Of course that was before the explosion of quality cheap bubs too. We both got ours from green Buddah for around $32 IIRC so $50 for that combo isn't far off! I thought the flavor was great, I suggest lowering water level if your being robbed of flavor. @ou812? has a sweet pic of his rig with an ALT hooker IIRC, ah good memories, props on that @Ratchett thanks!!

Nice! I figured it was in the $30 range, so $20 for instant pickup was great (though I was pissed they wouldn't let me test for water leaks in the store, nor would they take a return if it was defective after I take it out of the store!). I wish they had others in the store but they didn't have any other 14mm in stock.

I checked around and haven't seen it anywhere, I'm guessing they're no longer being made as I don't see them even on Green buddah's store.

Shame too, they're a sweet deal if you can find them for under $40 in my opinion

That's a GREAT deal. Wish I had seen it before buying my claisen and stopper separately. The stopper came the wrong size and the vendor is giving me a refund rather than sending out the right size due to shipping cost. :(

If anyone sees a 19mm glass stopper for cheap, shout out please. :)

That is too funny as I have that exact AC minus the blue. It's 14mm with that wide base and it's attached to a jhook as well. I actually use it as my dedicated oil rig as I don't use concentrates too often, but it does work perfect for that with a domeless nail. Mine also came from Green Buddha way back when their eBay store took PayPal. Ahh those were the days...:myday::rockon:

I forgot my camera.
I wanted to show you my first ash collector than is simular to the one you post.
Many I broke however my first one I still have.
I just had a session with my K.I.S.S.
Cart through a ash collector setup.
I will take some reenactment photos in the morning!

The ring around my planet was in fact not very well welded ; it literally exploded, crushed in my hands with micro chips of glass everywhere on my desk and on me.

Worse than the loss of the piece, the glass chips battlefield. Took me 2 hours to wash up this nightmare. I took no chance, washing and cleaning everything, looking everywhere, I always have the terrible fear of getting one of theses in my skin or even worse, in my vaping material, or food, I also have a kitty cat, I had to keep her away, I get paranoid and it's such a bad vibe, I feel like I have been contaminated or something. I have to be 100% there is no tiny bit left anywhere.

I sent the picture to kathy, I still have my feedback pending. I hope for a refund but not too hard.

The welds were too small and it also shows how bad the annealing is. I did nothing special, just handling it with both hands and loading a bowl on top, one hand on the ring, the other on the planet.. This is fragile, beware guys if you want to keep it in one piece.

I had a bad feeling about that planetary ring from the beginning.

Anyway, I soon will have a one of a kind, custom made worked recycler that just have been made by my favorite blower. I'm happy I still buy artisan pieces, I couldn't only rely on the mass produced stuff.

heres the one I bought and ALL HOPE IS RESTORED ,theyre still avalible.They make excellent bubbs and you my friend are correct,theFLAVA FLAV!! for some odd reasons this and a cheapie Pipes Daddy earl rig are my best tasting vape rigs.

Got my SS order in and inline and 5 j-hooks. The donut inline A/C is tits, love it, Inlines to seem to work well with my Solo, reduces the milkshake draw down to nothing and produce thick clouds. SS wraps and packages the absolute best,I can open up a bubble wrap store with all that was involved into shipping this parcel. The J-hooks were placed in bub wrp bags, folded over and then wrapped in a larger bubble type of wrap,INSANE AND LOVE'N IT.My order was here in 9 days,it goes to show, its not the mailing svce. its the individual who does put the effort in to getting it out when it says shipped and not shipped from the front of the factory to the rear of the factory status we get a lot of, but 9 days is just unreal.The 30 day waiting period seems to be a thing of the past....I hope !!

Waiting on clearcleanglass bubb and triple vortex A/C and 18fm >18fm adapters and almost forgot, PNWT knock off.. it should do for a while but I have a pre-paid Visa card from comcast for internet sign up, looking hard............

Yeah i saw that, and thought as you too. Im wondering if my Solo would fit,looks like it would,the glass plug alone Ive seen for 7-8 bucks so the whole set up is a great deal. Good Looking out bro, keep em posting

Yes! We use the Claisen as a carb, and to prevent blow-back when you release the draw (blowback is when the ABV blows out of the GONG when the water level in the percs settle down, usually blows into the insides of vape - or worse, out the top of your gong and all over the floor! :bang:

Sorry for your loss! Just a pro-tip I recently learned. Slices of soft bread are PERFECT for picking up tiny pieces of glass

WOW sorry Roger,I have always thought that may have been a suspect ,I would think its kind of hard to tack weld that ring to the globe, to not destroy the integrity of the roundness of it by the heat of welding the ring to it. I guess very little amount of glass and heat is what is done, leaving you with a fragile unit per say on the ring. The rest of the unit looks good and now you have a round ball rig,and hopefully you have removed all the harmful shards for you and your pets. And I would think they will make good on it and wish you well on the situation.:nod:

I would think it would. I have a similar one that does. You just have to twist it so that one part of the "Y" sticks further away from your glass and the other leg close to the glass. Also depends on the configuration of the glass you are using, of course.

That is a nice piece, but I must say I don't understand the idea of these high diffusion rigs being good on flavor. From purely a logical perspective one would expect most of the flavor to be diffused out by the action and surfaces. I have a small AC with a HC, and even that seems to rob more flavor than my D020 and my 20T. Beats me.

Indeed this is why I don't think I'll use that AC as my daily driver. It does in fact rob so much flavor from the flowers. Actually on my first session with the new AC I thought there was something wrong with my nano because I couldn't taste much! I agree the flavor is much better from my D020 and D020-W.

The reason why I DO like it is because of the desire to eliminate the foul taste from vaping reclaim soaked cotton. Normally I don't like the taste of reclaim, but I like the high it produces for a late-night session. Using this paired with another glass piece provides extreme diffusion to the point where the reclaim is almost enjoyable to vape.

Right. I am looking for another AC with less diffusion because the shape with a j-hook is perfect for the Lotus. @pigfoot got a really nice onion bulb AC about the time I got mine that looked about perfect, with less diffusion than the HC and a good shape and size.
