Cheap High Quality Bubbler

canj00digit?

All my days in a daze...
Yes, this is a safe space for G.A.S meetings.
I am a recovering addict, though not totally sober, just a vastly reduced habit from years back. ;)

Hi, I am canj00digit? and I suffer Glass Acquisition Syndrome although it's been under tight control for a few years now, I still feel the pangs of desire that lead to browse this thread, reddit and IG so I can at least have a *sniff* of the stuff.

I'm hangin' in there.

Not trying to change the subject because this IS a glassware thread but……..

It is clear you have a glassware issue (not saying it’s a problem because it isnt)….how many glass pieces do you have? Cheap….not cheap….doesnt matter. I am just curious how many you have, where you keep them and how you do your rotation.

I am asking because i really like glass and use the one i have as often as i can (i say “can” because i have kids around most if the time). I look at every single piece that is posted here and try to use restraint, but i feel like i want to buy them all….but dont because i have nowhere to put them.

Haha is it that obvious?!? Yes that is why I am trying to sell some pieces, and will be selling some more soon enough... I have some more on the way unfortunately fortunately also a heady custom finally in the works that I won't share in this particular thread... However to answer your question, I do not have the space for these things, the cabinet storage is full, I need to get a new cabinet for more (specifically to put underneath some drawers that I have to build for the more vapes and smaller glass pieces), but these are not display cabinets unfortunate, I don't really have the space for that or the support right now here, perhaps someday in the future somewhere else? Especially the nice stuff, yeah and so much more than can be used really, better for display, just like all the vapes, but those need more test proofing! Anyway I do rotate a lot, especially because I am lazy about changing water and cleaning, so just move on to another piece, then empty clean a bunch at once after a week or two lol So yeah currently the issue is so much is on the floor! Under and around my coughee table along with everything on it ... :o:mental::razz:

Haha I used to have a huge glass collection that I left with someone when I moved across the country never to be seen again! My entire closet was filled with glass. I lived right by the chameleon glass factory for a while. I had some nice vintage Jerome Baker fumed pieces that are prolly worth some change now sigh...

I have gotten rid of all my expensive glass and only have a Grav wedge right now. I never even use water anymore. If you knew me from before you would be like what?

I haven't even broken a piece from dropping it to this day. I broke a couple bowls back in the day scraping resin with paper clips.

So yeah my glass is really cheap nowadays since I don't have it lol! If I keep it up I might start back up again though so I better not look in here very often. I almost got one of those Milk Ball pieces from vgoodiez when i got my TA.

@Shit Snacks cool. I didnt know if you had an actual system for storage or rotation.

I would need a shelf with labeling and a rotational system….i am a neat freak.

Cant wait to see that new custom piece in that other thread i am following.

Unfortunately…..i dont know if i will ever get to the glass level i want to cuz kids….but maybe someday😏

Oh yeah there's no actual system, it's all a mess just like my memory mansion, but I know exactly where each is lol labeling also totally unnecessary for me with my memory I know every detail about each piece already anyway, and there are so many differences between them though some are similar, so it's sort of rotating the different size style together with whatever vapes, so there is a system it's just completely internal personal? Subjective haha Oh yeah forgot you asked how many, which is also a loaded question depending on the types of glass, but right now... 50 plus one in transit (not custom but also exciting heady that I will share in that thread too) I am also planning for two more at some point soon in addition to the heady custom with an eye on another (upline) to try someday, though I am currently trying to sell five in the classifieds now (two there have already sold and were removed from this total like the others I have sold previously) Ah also have no kids, unfortunately no pets!

Almost there...
@Shit Snacks

I saw yours for sale and that is what refreshed my memory of a long wanted WT!

I am in Canada and have had very bad luck with having glass shipped to me from the States from forums. Bought 3 so far and all arrived broken and no way to fix the issue...

I have placed an order with BrideMarry as it came with the ash catcher and all the other bits!

Let's see if this one will knock my RooR Vapor off it's #1 spot it's held for almost a decade!

I just ordered some bits from the china gate- estimated delivery APRIL 1 !

Seems to be getting worse and seems like a deliberate throttling.

Have you seen those conveyor belts at sushi bars? You could have a literal rotation system....

Hmm yeah I can see how that could count as a "glass problem" I think you need to sell a few more my dude.. Some of the better stuff too!

I know, but I need to sell what's listed for sale, too much has not yet sold... Listing more doesn't help move those pieces lol and obviously I want to keep the best stuff for myself... Everything sparks joy damn it all!

I do have some really nice items listed for sale, thought the Biao pieces would move quicker, one of them finally did a while ago after a long time though so maybe with more patience... The large bent neck gridded inline is a great piece for the price just not for me with everything else I have (I may end up selling my goo large inline and the gili glass straight fab if I continue dipping into more of the nicer pieces...) Slowed down buying ha

Anyway yeah the shipping estimates are extremely generous, I've rarely ever had anything take that long, only the things that were never sent by scamming sellers lol

I knew coming in here was a risk. I got my little Grav wedge out and actually put some water in it. Ripping the TA through it doing one hit extractions while being so cool I liked it. It has begun again I fear. I want this one ceramic piece I saw but it's not really that cheap.

Seems very variable. Just pulled the trigger on the Upline clone (will sell some older piece, I promise!) and it says end of February-beginning of March....

I also have this in my basket in case I accidentally break a bubbler, just so i can have a backup, you know...

What bugs me is.. why is the perc so high up and not at the bottom? Seems to me the entire downstem+ perc assembly could be moved down by an inch or so- so that both perc and the intake joint are lower? Perhaps that inch or so could then be taken off the height of the bottom chamber?

Probably to give enough room for the drain to come back in underneath the perc, so it doesn't interfere with the bubble-making and water-pushing.

Yes literally every store is different and that is just a general estimate

This is like the giant Biao dual recycler which is a copy of some other US design, they are decent function, but I hardly ever want to use mine, I wouldn't really say it is a backup piece or substitute for something else, the function is pretty unique to it

100% it is for proper function of the drain and also for the dual uptake to klein funnel vortex, recyclers in general take a decent amount of water for proper function, that is part of their benefit... More water moving through with the vapor, through smaller pathways...

Others have helpfully commented on the reason for that aspect of the design. I have this piece, a recent acquisition. It is well made. Getting the water level right so that it draws decently but still recycles is a bit tricky, with a fairly small sweet spot. It functions decently even without getting much recycling in lighter draws. If you have a lot of glass this can be an interesting addition for something different, but I would not have it as one of my few mains with the various other options that are out there.

I'd been looking for a cheap double decker type bubbler for a while when I got a good deal for this piece

(A fuck you to Dutch customs for charging with VAT and administrative fee even though it's already included in the dhgate price, effectively negating my good deal )

It's thick glass, I think it's a taller copy of a TAG piece so nice they copied the thickness as well. The TAG one was said to have some splashing, but this taller piece doesn't have that issue. Quality is really nice. Mouthpiece is decent, doesn't bother me like with some other pieces. Function is pretty good but limited as the top perc tends to spill water into the lower chamber, because they didn't make the perc tall enough. This limits the piece functionality to slower draws.

Here's a function video with herborizer:

I'll have to do some more experimenting with water levels (you can see in the video the respective levels are uneven because the issue with the water dripping from the top) to see if I can improve this. And try more vapes, with different draw resistance.

So from my initial testing it's a bit flawed but all in all happy with my purchase, as this type is not something I would spend more money on than I paid now and the other cheap ones available in EU have one or both percs that don't appeal to me.

This one is pretty wild
Let's see...in and up through the first tube through the color ball into the other tube and down to the perc, through the water and then I think vapor but not the water would rise though the clear ball to the mouthpiece? I don't see where water would drain. It is kinda cool, I like the curlicue!

Yeah that ball is just an obstruction really and superficial, pretty interesting for the extra dry pathway, nice style, but I wonder the quality and thickness from this place...?
