Not trying to change the subject because this IS a glassware thread but……..
It is clear you have a glassware issue (not saying it’s a problem because it isnt)….how many glass pieces do you have? Cheap….not cheap….doesnt matter. I am just curious how many you have, where you keep them and how you do your rotation.
I am asking because i really like glass and use the one i have as often as i can (i say “can” because i have kids around most if the time). I look at every single piece that is posted here and try to use restraint, but i feel like i want to buy them all….but dont because i have nowhere to put them.
I thought we were measuring the amount glass acquisition by how many spare bowls laying in the drawer?
Serious note, how long after Chinese New Year do most makers start shipping again?
@Shit Snacks cool. I didnt know if you had an actual system for storage or rotation.
I would need a shelf with labeling and a rotational system….i am a neat freak.
Cant wait to see that new custom piece in that other thread i am following.
Unfortunately…..i dont know if i will ever get to the glass level i want to cuz kids….but maybe someday

That estimate is usually well later than it actually comes, so hopefully it won't be that long.I just ordered some bits from the china gate- estimated delivery APRIL 1 !
Seems to be getting worse and seems like a deliberate throttling.
Hmm yeah I can see how that could count as a "glass problem" I think you need to sell a few more my dude.. Some of the better stuff too!50 plus one in transit

The Chinese New Year may slow things down a little but over-all my stuff from China has actually being showing up quite quickly lately.Seems to be getting worse and seems like a deliberate throttling.
Probably to give enough room for the drain to come back in underneath the perc, so it doesn't interfere with the bubble-making and water-pushing.Seems very variable. Just pulled the trigger on the Upline clone (will sell some older piece, I promise!) and it says end of February-beginning of March....
I also have this in my basket in case I accidentally break a bubbler, just so i can have a backup, you know...
What bugs me is.. why is the perc so high up and not at the bottom?
Yeah, I've seen it mentioned as a selling point with other, similar recyclers, moving the drain out of the can/bubble path to avoid mucking up the lift of the water.I have thought about that .. I think it may be that the perc would interfere with the drainage but visualising fluid dynamics is tricky .

What bugs me is.. why is the perc so high up and not at the bottom? Seems to me the entire downstem+ perc assembly could be moved down by an inch or so- so that both perc and the intake joint are lower? Perhaps that inch or so could then be taken off the height of the bottom chamber?
Others have helpfully commented on the reason for that aspect of the design. I have this piece, a recent acquisition. It is well made. Getting the water level right so that it draws decently but still recycles is a bit tricky, with a fairly small sweet spot. It functions decently even without getting much recycling in lighter draws. If you have a lot of glass this can be an interesting addition for something different, but I would not have it as one of my few mains with the various other options that are out there. What bugs me is.. why is the perc so high up and not at the bottom? Let's see...in and up through the first tube through the color ball into the other tube and down to the perc, through the water and then I think vapor but not the water would rise though the clear ball to the mouthpiece? I don't see where water would drain. It is kinda cool, I like the curlicue! This one is pretty wildPurple 8" Glass Inline Percolator Premium Pipe Hookah ⚡ | eBay
