Who Is Nate?
My 3rd and final atomizer died today. I was using it much more responsibly than my first 2 and never hit it back to back. It was performing pretty well up until today, but now it doesn't work at all. Bummer.


This is discouraging. My replacement atomizer still hasn't been shipped. I haven't had a single good hit on my production unit.

I've had a knurled and non-knurled production atomizer fail on me. Either that or something is wrong with my base.

Hey @jimsmith90210 We shipped every warranty replacement today that has been filled out as of yesterday or before so you should have shipped forsure by now. Perhaps you just didnt receive the tracking email? Shoot me a message and I can look up the details for you.

I did get an email last night that a shipping label was created.

I’ve been loving my Carta, about 4 grams through it in less then 3 weeks,Ti and quartz used at all levels. I had one atomizer crack and it was my fault as it was the first friends sesh I had, we loaded globs, passed it around and I didn’t qtip and it overflowed onto the ceramic, if you don’t overload it and you are qtipping every time there won’t be an issue.

I reached out to focus on 4/20 ( last Saturday) and my atty replacement is on the way already. I also contacted focus via the warranty form and Instagram and they replied in less then a day and always answer my simply questions very quickly.

I’m ok with small hiccups at first, I prepared myself for it before purchasing a brand new released product.

I definitely wanna see some updated and improved buckets as well as much better glass attachments

@Diamondabs I hope you stick around. Let me tell you a bit about what we have planned.

1. Stainless steel heating source. This will allow for a in theory 6 month to 1 year long heating source for you guys.
(for those who dont know me I come from 10 long years designing dry herb vapes in this industry if theres one thing i can figure out its going to be heating elements haha)

2. We plan to continue our efforts to reduce the ceramic costs or enhance user knowledge on the ease of rebuilding your atomizer.

3. We plan to release full build atomizers (Full Quartz atomizers with quartz heating element, full ceramic with non removable chamber. etc... these will also last much longer then the standard ceramic atomizers.


Our current atomizers are certainly not designed to fail. we came into the game with the intention of making the necessary changes to improve. We intent to continue in that direction! The steps above are a starting point and hopefully the answer.

Android Users we are awaiting the final update / patch. We have confirmation via video that it is working on pixel 3 and 10+ now so it should work on 99% of android phones at this point. But I will be receiving the test files soon for my 10+ and see.

@jimsmith90210 kk good to hear. Then its forsure been dropped off and mailed out today!

@FocusV thats the ONLY real issue I have so far...the app does not work on any android device in my house.....how do we check the units actual Bluetooth signal? Could some bases have messed up Bluetooth?

If I were to buy a V2 right now from a retailer, would I need to obtain updated parts due to in progress improvements? TIA.

I have 3 broken atomizers that I cleaned carefully and didn't overload. Hopefully I'll have better luck with the replacement FocusV is sending.

I wonder if in situations like this if its something with the body? 95% of users experience normal wear and tear and average failure rates. but there are a few such as yourself that seem to experience hire fail rates. If its just that the build cant handle the load then thats that but as you say you are being careful etc.. so I would be curious to send you a new body as well and keep your old so you can let me know if you experience a difference in longevity.

1. If there are changes that exceed normal improvements then we will forsure warranty / exchange your current product!

2. The android issue will forsure be fixed. Just waiting on final updates from the dev team.

Yeah I turn my Bluetooth on an it picks up nothing. There way to connect with he carta. Cause nothing popping up

Got my replacement Helix pieces today, both seal very well.

I guess I can't compare the sealing version to the one that didn't, but the Helix OT (original top is how I see it labeled on the site now?) has a lot more draw resistance than I expected. But boy does it hit smooth!

I haven't tried the PT yet, but it fits nicely into the carrying case like the stock glass. Having an extra carrying case, I find it a bit tight, so it's not a long term answer, but the OT glass does fit. I also added a 4oz twist top bottle for water. I can truly be portable now without any concessions!

I'll be paging back thru pages looking, but in the meantime, does anyone know of any glass blowers that are making custom for the Carta yet? I'd love a recycler with some color and a short piece that is just a 18mm male connection. Let me use all my HT glass on this!

Loving the thoughts of all those atty's, but lets get the basics nailed down first! Then let me load my cart with accessories and the playing begins!

@freddiegibbs , sorry to hear about your continued troubles. I'm hoping your're an outlier. On a positive note, I've been using my V2 atty that they sent me for the V1 since I got it. It worked pretty well on the V1 and better on the V2, but it's been going strong since I got it, about 6 heating cycles a day I'm guessing is average.

FYI.....Because I kept hearing about the different experiences people were getting from their units, I did throw the atty that came with the V2 on for a cycle, it was much hotter than the first V2 atty, level 1 for crystal was plenty. On the other, it's level 2 for everything.

Loving my Carta......I've stopped following the DD Switch thread, it really does't appeal as much anymore!

Works for me! I'm not upset, just trying to get a handle on what's causing the failures. It seemed like more of a gradual decline in functionality with the first 2, but the 3rd one just stopped working suddenly. I certainly don't mean to discourage anyone from buying the Carta. On the contrary, I freakin love this thing! Just need to figure out how to make an atty last.

Anyone have any suggestions on oil rising to the top of the insert? I seem to have more leftover than I should. Running on the all at 680 with a quartz insert.

Reached out to Focus about a failed atomizer and the next day I received tracking info for my new atomizer! Thanks for the speedy response!

I love the idea of a stainless steel atomizer that could last 6 months. I wish the insert cups could look like the Switch inserts to prevent and concentrates from leaking into the atomizer.

@FocusV Thanks for the quick response i got a new atomizer on the way, the backup i bought with the unit is still going good. Now i am just debating on if i should get the pilltop or wait for some custom glass.

Well, thanks to the carta app I know have a dabbing spreadsheet. Smh. Tracking temp across 1/2 dozen extracts of various consistency and 3 atomizers (2 quartz and one ti) -zeroing in on perfection! Also hypothesizing that I should also be able to detect atomizer degradation pretty early.

Would be nice to see some preset temp/session buttons with user-definable labels in the app.

I assume your talking like the Ghost app where you can user-define custom temps w/o the need to use the app?
I haven't seen the ghost app. Being able to save sessions to the app, and label them such as "Sauce" "Shatter" "distillate" "wax" etc would be nice. To be able to then save those sessions to the hard button presets would be amazing.

I suggested that a week back as well. Would be very cool, but they said the on board settings can't be overwritten. I feel like the Carta could have been made super solid right out of the box if the beta program wasn't finished so hastily. All of these things seem relatively simple to have implemented.

I was told the button presets will be able to be customized after an app update.
