Cannabis News UK

“Reacting to Mr Khan's announcement Ms Patel tweeted that the mayor's time "would be better spent focusing on knife and drug crime in London".”

But isn’t that exactly what’s he’s doing by looking at alternatives to prohibition
That was my immediate reaction too!

What I don't understand is that 2 or 3 days ago there was a report about the increasing use of opioids in the UK, and that should have been part of the conversation regarding the availability of medical cannabis in the UK today and in the future.

One the other hand I do commend Sadiq for getting the conversation started again even if both of the biggest parties had their knee jerk reaction 🙄.

In a younger, naiver more immediately optimistic mind, I might have revelled in this I admit to me, unexpected sufdennturn up (literally lol)

But the truth in how I feel is I feel like I probably COULD throw Patel further than I trust Sadiq!

Mmm. Not sure I could achieve reversed but I trust her no more.

I was always frustrated that you normally only hear this type of thing from authorities after they have retired. Here is one who is still active.

They claim that the supply is a major source of crime. But, if it was legal, you'd be able to shut the criminals out of the supply chain, surely?
That's ridiculous.

One of the main reasons I support scottish independence because the scot government would go more along the portugal route.

I think it's the only way I'll ever smoke cannabis legally in my own country.

As part of the UK I can't ever see it happening

You might be surpised to know that cannabis flower is officially not currently illegal in uk..
Cannabis concentrate and resin is..
Basically you deny that you have broken any laws, ask for supporting evidence that you have.. make them prove that it is illegal.. they cant.. it will be thrown out of court.. its happening everywhere in uk..

I will find the bit on the gov website that shows cannabis flower isnt illegal..

Right so they added just cannabis to the list within last coulple months since i last checked it..

But the point remains.. cannabis meets none of the criteria to lable it as a controlled substance.. The harm caused by a prosecution would far outweight the harm by using this substance.
Make them prove its a harmful substance, since they cannot.. all cannabis possesion in uk is currently legal..
If you get caught pm me, and ill send contact details for a legal team that specialises in these cases for free...

Unfortunately growing will never be legal as our government make too much money doing that themselves..
But again you cannot get a custodial sentence for less than 9 plants...

While I’m definitely pro-any legal loopholes and agree the consequences of prosecution outweigh the damage of cannabis itself, it does explicitly name cannabis in both the misuse of drugs act 1971 and 2001 so I don’t think the courts have any need to prove it’s harm

They still do if you ask them to.. you dont have to accept their claim.. do you have ig? There is an annonymous music producer from manchester that has been spreading awearness off this.. he also runs the legal team that help people get this thrown out of court..
The more poeple that contest it, dont just accept its illegal.. (its illegally illegal by the way) the more likely the law will be changed. Its too expensive to the courts to keep losing cases..
Cannabis is not illegal.. you just gotta know what to say..

The U.K. remains so blind to the wider progression and acceptance of Cannabis around the world as a safer and genuine alternative to alcohol. Our new ‘government’ - with Howard off of the Halifax bank adverts now masquerading as a chancellor of the exchequer along with numerous other clueless, power hungry goons - have recently stated their intent to re-classify cannabis as a Class A drug. Must be the lobbying from big Pharma and drinks producers adjacent to a complete antiquated mindset amongst elected MP’s regarding the safety of Cannabis. I do despair but still actively support and promote greater understanding around this whole subject. Hail the magic plant.

They wont make it class A.. they make way too much money from med cannabis. Making it class A would involve alot of red tape arpund the governments med weed business.. they simply wont do it..

A group of police and crime commissioners urge tougher penalties for supply and possession.

Funny how the police always say "Oh, we don't make the rules or even care either way, we just enforce what we're told to", but then, in many places around the world the police are often the first and only source of resistance to the easing of these laws!
It has to be worth a lot of bread and butter to them, and the lawyers and judges. I know there's 12,000 possession cases per annum in the small country I live in.

Either way, this whole thing seems to have sparked some debate, with quite a few "Should cannabis be legalised?" articles popping up in UK media.
I know there was some meeting in Europe or the UN recently about which direction to go regarding cannabis, now that Germany want to go ahead and legalise.
