Just a dude
Just signed up for medical cannabis, have my consultation next week. Im not sure why I’ve not done it before since I’ve got a handful of qualify conditions. Interested to see what the experience is like, I don’t know anyone who‘s been through the process. I hope the flowers and oils are decent and I’m not paying for dodgy product. :hmm:

My experience with UKMC is that it's good and strong (helps with my conditions for sure) but lacks a bit in the flavour/scent department as it's been dried very thoroughly (to comply with UK medical standards?).
I've only had flowers so far, but some balanced oil should be on it's way to me soon.
So far I've had: Tigerz eye, Chapel Of Love, Moroccan Peaches, Tokoloshe Sherbert, Strawberry Glue and Frosted Lemon Angel.
I'd rate the first four the highest of the strains I've had (obviously YMMV depending on your ailments) but the SG and FLA were both very effective too, just very dry and muted in terms of flavour/scent.
The variety of choice is pretty damn good, especially if you're used to the black market "I have one strain and I've no idea what it is, take it or leave it" end of the market!

Prices seem to range from £6.50 a gram up to £12-13 or thereabouts, and although I've started out with some of the more expensive strains I think I'll stick to £6.50 to £8.50 going forward (budgetary constraints).

The application process was a little bit of a ball-ache for me, as my qualifying condition is long standing and since I hadn't sought any new treatments for a long time there was no mention of it in my recent medical records. This meant that it took three attempts to get documentation that met the MC clinics criteria for qualification from my GP practice, but we got there in the end.

Good luck with your treatment, I doubt there is much risk of "dodgy product" as everything I've had so far has been fairly high standard (no pun) and although there have been some few reports of mould and seeds over on the UKMC subreddit most respondants seem happy and I certainly am, except for the somewhat dry condition of the bud (when compared to GOOD black market stuff).
My tolerance has leapt up since starting MC, but my clinic (Mamedica) seems amenable to upping my prescription if I decide I can afford it (I can't yet though).
Mamedica do seem to be struggling with admin' a little at the moment though due to staff sickness and expanding patient numbers, and may require 'chivvying along' to get stuff done on occasion, but they're pretty good and very friendly folk.

I haven't tried it yet but I got some Adven 20thc/40cbd.
In what way did you dislike Adven compared to Aurora and Grow? (I've never had sublingual oils before so I'm new to them and know nothing)

Well Adven or Curaleaf as they are now known are a budget brand. They prescribed me an oil which said indica. It was emt2 amnesia haze x white widow. Now how do you come up with an indica from two sativa or hybrids? You cant it kept me up all night. There is barely any choice in oils but whats needed can be found elsewhere.

Sativa? Lumir Wild Thailand.
Indica? Aurora LAC or Grows Herijuana
Hybrid? Somai MAC or Gorilla Zkittlez.

Adven and Althea, Yuck thats the worst product i consistently try is Adven Cura now known as Curaleaf. Also of you want CBD just buy from Holistic Hemp Scotland and get the THC 20/25MG oils and take cbd seperately. I found any oils that mix the CBD/THC kills off any THC buzz.

My initial appointment had to be pushed back, by myself so no bad reflection on them. During the video conference last week, the doctor said I was the perfect patient since I knew so much about cannabis, vaporization and concentrates. Plus having a handful of conditions that cannabis is shown to help. Dude was so happy that his 30-45 minute presentation took 30 seconds. My first legit UK cannabis will be here this week! Pretty stoked to say goodbye to Instagram plugs and fluctuating supply, or having to train into London when it’s the last thing I feel like doing.

Seven + years ago, my education began right here at fuckcombustion and look at me now, a Perfect Patient of Medical Cannabis!

Same-same dude!
It's crap being ill enough to qualify, but at least the high compensates for some of the being ill!
FC was my alma mater too and I think I joined around the same time, ha!
I don't know about you, but it's going to be some time before I completely relinquish the traditional paranoia, but I'm getting there 😁
My definition of a convenient portable vape may be changing thanks to UK MC legality, as I used to favour the very quick and discrete vapes (e.g. Grasshopper) for 'out and about' but I am now using a Lobo which is slower and less discrete, but better in many other ways.
It's liberating not having to look over your shoulder all the time.
I've been generally impressed with the quality of Legal MC. It seems to be drier than BM, but generally great otherwise.

You will learn theres some real bad bud out there. You reallly should order whats new and fresh. I got one of the first batches of Hindu Kush and it was decent. But really its the Lot420 Apples and banas etc at £390/30g thats the premium flower. I can never afford £390/oz i need 45/50g a month.

What did you sample then and what was the verdict? I got loads of stuff here at the minute i just finnished an oz of Hindu Kush. And now onto another oz of Remo Chemo. And i got some 31.39% GMO cookies as well. And theres Cookies Kush coming too. I love the choice.

From what I remember about the above article before it locked me out yesterday, it seemed to suggest that the UK needs to go one way or another shortly.
By either beginning to pump record amounts of state spending into tough police crackdown and enforcement (like that which it's neighbours Ireland have been heavily engaged in for 3.5 years so far),
Or to continue with its semi relaxed status quo.

There certainly seems to be an increasing number of grows busted in UK now, almost by accident or without intense enforcement efforts in place.

The following article only mentions the police opinion on decriminalisation from the survey.
