Finished today. I shortened the post on top.

Now it sticks up .4" from the top of the nut.

Fits 18 to 14 adapter quite well.
Fits in the Shovel head.
fits in most glass bowls.

I do put the bowl on the head, block the bottom with my hand and suck to see if I get a seal. Some glass is better than others.

I put it in a single hit V bowl with a single hole in the bottom. ONE HUGE HIT.
The end of the thing I made touches the load and the edge of the glass. So the herb is in a small a V directly below the heat.

All along I have had the Auber on 675. Going to try it 650 tonight.

I can't attach pictures.

The part I made is the center post out of the WeedEater. I shortened the threads and shortened the end.

OD @ base is 3/4" OD @ front of unit with holes in it is 5/8"

I kept the same number of 3 mm rubies. I added some Ti Thermal mass.
The unit sits on the stand warming up. Heat rises, so the top part will be hot.
Once the top is hot, it will pre heat the air as it goes into the beads.

If you are using it on glass or Ti, the beads will work as they should.

Have you heard about the boom on Mizar 5?
After multiple delays from UPS forgetting to put gas in the truck or whatever, I finally got my order yesterday. I got a few new screens, one of those fancy wooden handles and most importantly the B1 head.

The B1 I got is loose as hell on the old legacy coil I've been using on my V-Rod the last few years. I can shake it and watch the diffuser move all over the place. I tried to spread the coil wraps last night with a flat head but wasn't able to make it any better, I decided to stop since I was making some fairly noticeable adjustments without the diffuser getting any tighter. I guess I should confirm that nothing has changed with the coils besides the pin layout? I already want to get another controller/coil with the XLR port (at least when I can find coils in stock) but I'm not too sure that would solve this problem.

After getting plenty frustrated with this, I decided just to run it as UPS brung it and have been able to get some pretty decent hits, fairly comparable to my always capped VROD while running about 20f lower but I don't feel like I'm getting all of the potential power with the loose fit.

The wood handle I got is fucking dope though! I mostly just got it because it looked cool and I can see it not being around forever but the wood handle being so much fatter then the stock makes it alot more comfortable to hold.

I had to keep spreading my coils. It was past what I was initially comfortable spreading them, but I checked that it fit my VROD as well as the B-1 each adjustment. It did end up being, like you say, a noticeable adjustment, but both heads work on the coil and I've only been happy with the B-1 since, so I guess it worked out.

One thing I did notice, if I were sitting next to the Auber PID when it shut itself off, I could hear it shut down, accompanied with an almost sort of ticking sound. After having spread the coil some, it shuts off and doesn't make the same sound anymore, though sometimes I'll hear more of a clunk or thonk out of it, but nowhere near like I heard the ticking. I'm sure someone who knows more than me has an explanation of sorts.

Wonder if that was just coil-on-coil noise you eliminated by spreading it?

I use a Legacy coil that came off my VRod. I had to spread too but all is good now.

Are you hearing metal contracting back from expanding during heat up? I hear this on start up too.

Creaking on warm up and cool down is normal.

I spread my coil. No big deal. Just look at an elev8tor heater.

Tried to see t h e live stream. Phone was terrible. Sound was intermittent or none .

I did more work on my coil and seem to have gotten things all tightened up. It took alot more then I would of guessed, I'm used to coils like my old legacy coil or my axial coils where all of the wraps are basically touching. The elev8tor is a good thing to bring up with how spread out the wraps are, I didn't have to go anywhere near that spread out but made me a bit more comfortable with seeing some light between wraps.

Latest Report of the nub on my B1. Works EXCELLENT! Better than the shovel head.
I think the heat is closer to the herb. All Glass must help.

No doubt it hits quicker than the shovel head.

Its all we have been using. Shovel head is sitting on a shelf.

My nub with the B1 is the best.

Using an 18mm Glass bowl I bought off Ebay, 3 fore $12.99. One I knocked out the glass screen and put in a Ti one from NV. I bend the edges down to make a small dome. I also am using a Banger I got with the Ispire Wand.

I now have quite a few 14.5 mm bowls and a bunch of 18.5.

Tried to include pictures, but attachements are not working right now.

I posted a bunch on Discord.

This is the

I cannot get these from my computer, so I am linking them from discored.

This is your basic 18 to 14 reducer with a screen on it.

Look at how close the coil is to the load in inches.

This is the cheap Ebay bowl. LOVE IT. Its what I use most of the time.

My little nub sticks out .4" above the top of the head.

With the bowls above, its touching the herb when I use it.

I’m getting a B1 setup and was wondering if I get the Injector Diffuser would I be able to use a Grav Octobowl? If so which size, 14mm or 18mm? Don’t know if the Octobowls are the same size bowls or not.

It fits some from what I have read right here.

You asked for pics.
Originally it was the bottom nut of a WeedEater.
I cut it up saving the holes and threads.

This was the beginning B1 bottom, WeedEater top nut, full of balls, WeedEater bottom nut screwed it on WeedEater top nut.

David
Never messed with Ti before.
I have an OLD Lathe, luckily operated by an old flella (me).
I kept changing carbide bits.

First attempt was taller and square on the front.

Apologies for pics messed up.

.6" (15mm) tall
Thread 3/4"-16
Measures 3/4" (19mm) across
5/8" or 16mm at the face.
Sticks up .4" (10mm) from the deck of the top WeedEater nut.
I could cut one more thread off the nub and it would work fine and stick up less.
I am not that good on the lathe.

I cut one thread off the B1 bottom nut. This let my nub have 1.5 threads holding it in.

SO, MY thoughts.

3/4" OD tapers to 5/8" OD at the nose in 1/4", so it could stick up 1/4" or .250" or 6mm.

Weighs 13 grams or just under 1/2 ounce.

Sick work David, very innovative! It's very different from the previous Flower Pot designs being an outie (going into the bowl) rather that an innie (wrapping around the bowl). I'm digging the variety of bowls this could potentially work .

Although from those pics I'm going to imagine you having one manly hand and one dainty lady hand with painted nails.

I have walked into smoke shops with the entire coil in hand. "What is that?"
Then I tell them I want a bowl that is 22 mm OD.
They say We only have 14 and 18mm.

I took the nub. The guy put out a rack of bowls. 18 AND 14. It fit most all.
The only problem some are not round and the nub will not seal.
I put the bowl on, block the bottom and suck on the top.
Works or not, I know right away.

I am using the 18mm Grav Octobowl with the Qaroma, similar to the CH Injector I believe. I can fit 1-2 scoops and the injector sits right on top of the herb, about as close as you can get to the heater. The glass screen is not the best and gets dirty quite quickly, I still haven't found the pefect glass injector bowl, both the Qaroma and the Elev8 bowls are too deep for me, I need something that holds 3 large scoops.

I don't still get the point of the injector. What will the injector bring to the table with the Vrod or B-series?
The ability to use injector style bowls which some may already have and seen to be increasing in popularity. There may be more to it then that but CH has released quite a few good products and knows what the market wants.

I think it attracts people to the CH ecosystem who already have/prefer injector bowls and gives CH users more bowl options, but there’s also been speculation on discord it’s a defensive move against qaroma, hot rod, etc. I suppose all can be true. I’ve got one and there’s not any functional advantage IMO.

I'd also imagine it might be easier to design a head to fit readily available and standardized bowls (injector bowls) rather then continue to sail down the river of poor QC and other manufacturing issues CH has been on in the past trying to find someone to make a glass bowl for the Flower Pot. They are a metal machine shop, not a industrial glass blower. I see the injector bowl as a attempt to play to their strengths.
